I like this, its like the Russian version of the Truman Show. I'm surprised that Pavel didn't televise the whole operation to earn a profit from his expenses like they did in the Truman Show, as I think it would be logical and interesting. Maybe Grisha could have discovered that the whole setup was fake by watching himself on TV after he was released.
I think the difference is that Pavel was doing this to try to help his son and even Lev is motivated more by the project and his passion for sfx than profit. Plus televising it defeats the entire purpose of rehabilitation; the motivation to keep these brats struggling is far too strong bc in reality tv failure is more entertaining than redemption.
They have similarities in their plot, but they convey very different meanings. In Truman's Show it's more about the protagonist who's already a good person becoming brave enough to escape his boring life. While in this movie it's more about a spoiled ("bad") protagonist falling in love and enduring hardships which in the end make him a better person in general.
Hollywood is creatively corrupt now. I have been watching movies from other countries and found many gems, especially Russian made war movies with the grim warfare and freezing cold battlefields, plus with the subtitles, you have to watch and get pulled in.
I'm even a little shocked that this film was seen NOT ONLY in Russia. In our country, everyone was satisfied with the film. Not only because there are a lot of our famous actors there, but also because the film is quite high-quality, and even historical, in some way. At the time of the release of this film, there was another one, also known, called the Union of Salvation. On the contrary, many people did not like it In general, I would not recommend watching our films to people not from Russia. In our films there are too many things from everyday life (In particular for Russia), and too little of any fiction. It is rare to find a fictional happy ending here. Only brutal reality, which can sometimes be happy

The irony of this whole situation is that despite having been “rehabilitated”, the fact that he’s a rich spoiled kid still saved him from facing any real consequences. Instead of going to prison, he got taught humility, to be grateful for what he has, and fall in love. Poor criminals wouldn’t have nearly the same opportunity, they’d just get raped in a prison cell for months or years and come out worse than they were before and with a criminal record to boot. So in the end did he actually change that much, on a deeper level?

This guy is the visualization of nobility in the times before the late 20th century, spoiled, using their wealth for parties. And the sad part is, today, many millionaires, do that, people who are given their riches on a silver platter, making up standards for what a person should be
It'll depend on specifically which code of nobility you're talking about. There's not really any one specific standard. One of the old standards is about absolutely refusing to be subjugated. The death before dishonour mentality that spawned the infamous dueling culture in the 17th and 18th century. Given how quickly he was willing to fall in line when he didn't have the upper hand, he would fail to live up to that standard of nobility. By those standards, a true gentleman would have chosen to die in the fight he knows that he'll lose than allow himself to be disgraced.

Only problem I can see that maybe they addressed in the film in some clever way is to avoid him ever seeing a plane in the sky. Is there some part of Russia where no planes ever fly over?
I think they would find a place where it's very rare to planes fly by, maybe a part so far from everything that the only planes that flies there are those who fly above the clouds, like 10km of altitude. Or maybe they would look when a plane is going to fly there (which is possible, at least with airliners) and they would make him sleep or get him to another area with an excuse.

The crimes could still be sought after.
You watched neither of those movies, huh?
How to make money if there is no product placement.. lol 😂😂
'Take Him To The Ranch' got a whole new meaning.

At the time of the release of this film, there was another one, also known, called the Union of Salvation. On the contrary, many people did not like it

The irony of this whole situation is that despite having been “rehabilitated”, the fact that he’s a rich spoiled kid still saved him from facing any real consequences. Poor criminals wouldn’t have nearly the same opportunity, they’d just get raped in a prison cell for months or years and come out worse than they were before and with a criminal record to boot. Given how quickly he was willing to fall in line when he didn't have the upper hand, he would fail to live up to that standard of nobility.
By those standards, a true gentleman would have chosen to die in the fight he knows that he'll lose than allow himself to be disgraced.

I think they would find a place where it's very rare to planes fly by, maybe a part so far from everything that the only planes that flies there are those who fly above the clouds, like 10km of altitude.
