I think they must have had dance lessons back then. Last season eloise and gregory are practicing steps together.
I genuinely don't get why so many people hate Colin this much. What exactly did he do that was so offensive across seasons 1 and 2? Other than the awful end of season 2 when I wanted to kill him, I've always thought he was kind and decent. As for his attitude in this episode, it felt completely artificial to me, like he was playing a character of society. Even in this ep, after she calls him out, he drops the act with her.
I actually really liked him before! But the combination of him acting like a fool this episode and his comments last season just makes me want to smack him a bit. He's totally redeemable tho! His scenes with Pen give me hope that we're gonna see some change.
Yes, exactly! It seems like a lot of people hate on Colin just for (apparently) daring not to return Penelope's feelings. It's a really entitled attitude that would not fly if the situation was reversed. Also, Penelope acting/being treated like a victim is rather hypocritical. After all, don't dish it out if you can't take it. One time, Colin engages in dumb locker room talk with a few guys, in order to buddy up to them to help Mondrich, mind you, and he's called cruel and gets hate, yet Penelope herself regularly trash talks anyone and everyone, including Colin, his family and her own, to the entire Ton, with zero accountability (other than Eloise). And she does it for money. How is that not cruel? Isn't it so much worse? The fact that she can look these people in the eye is amazing. What Colin did was awful, but at least he owned it and tried to make amends. I quite like Penelope outside of Lady Whistledown, but I've never been a fan of the 'don't blame me, blame my alter ego' trope. It's like having this persona allows her to disconnect from the consequences of her actions. What happened with Eloise should have been more of a wake up call in regards to how real and serious those consequences can be; it's not just idle gossip. She's messing with people's lives. I'm really hoping she'll gain some much needed self-awareness in part 2, as we see Colin do in part 1.
Yeah, judging by the snippets of part 2 we have seen, It will all go down...
