I think you're misunderstanding Colin, but, on the other hand, I don't even like Penelope after all the crap she's pulled as Lady Whistledown anyway, so I'm wanting her redemption arc but not so sure the show will deliver that. Eloise is really nice not to expose Penelope (although maybe she would be saving others from Whistledown if she did), much nicer than anyone should reasonably expect.
Right I kind of agree. I did think Penelope had to suffer some karma for being lady whistledown but I think the way she is treated has kind of balance that out. I'm warming up to Colin so that's a plus I guess. I think Eloise is in the hardest position of this season.
people love to forget that penelope straight up saved eloise from her own stupid plan of telling the queen she was whistledown (false) and whatever repercussions that come from lying to the queen. did penelope do her dirty? sure. did she also save her ass? absolutely

We see her pulling the same things with Cressida this season that she has always done with Penelope... talking and focusing solely on her own thoughts an interests, barely listening to her friends' cares and concerns, and being incredibly judgmental and dismissive of those she disagrees with, while brushing off her own faults and missteps. Honestly, the fact that she and Penelope were friends for so long, and she had no clue that Penelope even wanted to get married, let alone that she'd been in love with Colin forever, pretty much says it all.
Of course he likes her, he just always saw her as a friend.
Read the book four times in the last 15 years, and love it more each time. 💗
