    As a kiwi I feel very proud, not only for it being Martin Crowe coming from Wasim himself, but because to me Wasim was one of my favorite cricketers.....short/long run-up , new ball, old ball, quick, inswinger, out swinger etc.

      Yes Sam. Wasim was the best left arm pace bowler ever. Crowe was the best batsmen/player NZ ever produced. His cricketing brain, as kiwis are known for was one of the finest the game has ever seen. We lost him early in life, but he will be Remembered for generations, just as we are recalling him with so much fondness. Martin was one special love for me, btw. :)

      I have to agree, he batted in the era where runs were tough to get in NZ yet he was just short of the 50 average.
      If he was representing any other country in that period, his batting average would have been far greater.
      His technique was incredible, great respect from the Aussies as well

    Wasim & Waqar were legends of cricket and they had to fight for everything. Also great Arjuna & Murali Sri Lankan legends who also had to fight for their existence. Martin Crowe was a gentlemen and fantastic Kiwi. Kiwi's were always great and very fair team.

    Martin Crowe was an astute thinker of the game. I remember him devising Max Cricket during our 2002 tour to NZ. The tour itself was misery for us but that one game with a new format was so enjoyable to watch. An underrated legend,gone too soon.

    This guy was a great fast bowler. Sad to se the PCB not using his skills to hone youth players may be an under 17 or under 19 team at the very least. He was open to coaching these lads on multiple occasions but not employed on a year on year basis too.

      Because he got his ass whooped by sachin more than Lara.. even though he is a legend n I love his skills I have seen him telling different stories at different places according to the target audience.. in one of the interviews to Indian channel he told sunny gavaskar was toughest to bowl even though he played less matches against him

      @@nonpartisanrealist7075 Yea I have noticed that even tho Sachin took Wasim and Waqar too cleaners a lot of times he never ever shared a story about him. I mean WC 2003, be his second test 50 or the famous 80, Sharajah 90. Even never mentioned any story about him must be hatred lol because Sachin played aggressive and dynamic during his mid 20s.

India and Pakistan did not play test cricket at all against each other for almost a decade in the 90's. Early 90's were Wasim's prime, where he played Lara, Crowe, Waughs, etc. He never played Sachin from the early to almost late 90's. If you are going to count the 2003 world cup as the reasoning for Sachin smashing Wasim.. I should mention he was 37 years old at that time. As a Sachin fan, it's a shame we didn't see India play cricket much with Pakistan for the better half of a decade. I will agree with your comment though that Wasim does tell stories and gives answers depending on the audience, which is pretty clever.

    Remembered that test match series in 1993 was in College watched with my elder bro ... Exactly the same scenario as discussed by wasim .. Martin crowe was batting with the bat having diamond logo. And even yard yard swing balls were played with the center of the bat. Both W's were just frustrated with his defense technique
