And now i discovered a few techs for jackhammer also so thanks a lot + I wanted to mention that full charge green jackhammer does not build up hard damage (beacuse it is self damage) so you can instanly heal to almost full hp which is very useful Sorry if I made some mistakes, english is not my first language
I used the jackhammer recently to beat sisyphus. I had gotten stuck at that bossfight and just quit, but the jackhammer just allowed by to bounce around the arena like a damn pinball.
Shotgun swap this, projectile boost that- NAH, FEEL THE WRATH OF MOMENTUM, RAHHHH‼️ Seriously though, this weapon was made for me because I love flinging myself all over the place and turning enemies into paste. As a wise fellow once said “Speed is war”.
People dont hate it its just that a lot of people stick to the shotguns and they dont bother trying the jackhammer so im trying to encourage people to at least try out the jackhammer
Fun fact: if you place down some magnets and then hit the chainsaw of the Sawed-off with the Knuckleblaster, instead of just flying how it normally does, it will start circling the magnet like a Chainsaw Launcher’s chainsaw
I am a supporter of using all kinds of variants and having at least 1 of each variant of a weapon, I have tried many shotgun builds, I frankly prefer to just use it casually with the red version to kill Maurices, but I imagine how versatile the others must be, definitely worth a place in the roster
The Jackhammer and Shotgun are both workhorses so makes sense why the Jackhammer is the Alt shotgun The Jackhammer is a workhorse of a weapon from just hitting really really hard while the shotgun is from the combos paired with tech like Core Nuking and shotgun swapping
Facts about the Overcharge variants: The Jackhammer's over pump (35) deals less damage to V1 than the Overcharge shotgun's overpump (50) allowing for more boosting yourself
Another way of nuking with the Core Eject jackhammer is using the SRS cannonball; first the impact does 5 damage, then you hit it during the bounce window and get a nuke that's in-between the strength of rocket and core nukes (~11-12 damage at center, based on the results with Malicious rail) - *very* effective against Insurrectionists since the cannonball stuns them prior to the nuke. Plus, the cannonball's explosion has a neat quirk in that it lasts a tad longer than most other explosions, giving it more time to deflect projectiles and tag enemies at the outer edge.
the only real difference between the sawed on shotgun and the sawed on jackhammer is that when you fire with the shotgun while charging the chainsaw it will "fire" the chainsaw, meanwhile you can use the jackhammer while charging the chainsaw.
Ive been using a full jackhammer arsenal literally since the update dropped lmao. Way more fun and rewarding than default shotguns, especially in cybergrind, even if it's a little less reliable sometimes
This tech is quite hard to pull off, at least for me, but jackhammering a rocket into an ejected core creates the same explosion hitting a core with the malicious railcannon does. If you're using the core eject jackhammer, I find the best way to do it is to rocket ride up, freeze the rocket and drop a core, and then aim down at the core
I use both the Jackhammer and the shotgun and have learned to shotgun swap with the shotgun and the rocket launcher so I can have 2 Jackhammers while still having a shotgun to use while they're cooling down, I always go for the highest damage for the Jackhammers since I can just switch to another weapon while they're cooling off. Something I did find that I think is fairly obscure is that you can "parry" the Guttertank's rockets with the Jackhammer, it's pretty hard to do and isn't that rewarding but it's something.
I believe on of the main reason why people dont use the jackhammers is the healing factor. The shotguns are as soon as you get them the best healing source in the game, which is hard to replace for a less wieldy, allthough higher damaging alternative. Malicious core nukes are also harder to perform with the core eject jackhammer than with the shotgun, since it cant be aimed as well. That being said, this video has enlightened me to the power of the hammer, and I'll certainly nail some demons in the future and test some new shotgun combos. (Current loadout as of writing this: 1: Core eject 2: Sawed-on 3: Alternate Pump charge
I was a former jackhammer user, I just used the pump charge variation, but I swapped back after learning how to instakill Sentries with the S.R.S cannon, I just like projectile boost swapping, I might return to it someday but it makes the consistency of the other shotguns kinda whack, and letting go of it has let me learn new things about more underrated weapons, i used to never use the rocket launcher but now as soon as I see a cerberus it's just 5 + E + R + M2 + M1 + F
i use core jackhammer, with pump and sawed-on shotgun. two shotguns for shotgun swapping, and during the hitstop of the jackhammer doing a knuckleblaster punch and core eject does good damage. i might consider using the pump charge instead, thank you for the video!
I just like using shotguns because prohectile boosting is so damn fun and cool to do. I use only one jackhammer because I like versatility in my loadout just in case I need it.
i bought the game after the arsenal update released and am only now having to switch off jackhammer to clear P-1 for the first time. i appreciate this video showing me what im missing edit: only for flesh prison, who i havent beat yet. im switching back to the jackoff playstyle to fight minos
I'd like to see a buff to the jackhammer's freshness decay I think. It feels like I'm allowed to use it twice, maybe three times before it's gone dull.
That's why I use three jackhammers. They seem to massively refill the style of the other weapons when using them, so they basically re-fresh each other.
i feel like when it comes to alt weapons, jackhammer and shotgun dont work well when they are both equipped unlike the revolver and nailgun but i feel like if somebody can use both with high skill, they deserve the power of both sides of the coin (hehe, coin) mostly because shotgun swapping becomes like 10x harder imo
oddly enough, I never liked the shotguns all that much I found them weird to use for the longest and I always disliked how little I used them. I always used them with just pboosting and for maurices and I never felt good about it and felt I wasn't using them to their full potential. Then I got the jackhammer and I FINALLY felt I was using everything in my arsenal. So it was effortless for me to get used to them and it matches my playstyle perfectly. :)
Me personally, I only use the red jackhammer because 1. I would rather die than have less than 2 projectile boosts 2. The chainsaw has really good damage potential, but tbh that also goes for the default red shotgun 3. It’s a really good way to insta kill Maurice, whiplash, knuckleblaster and jackhammer 4. I can still shotgun swap with core eject and pump charge so yippeee
the 1st and 2nd jackhammer version is strong but my memory is just base to shotguns so i really cant use them even tho i find them cool and funny to have 3 punches. I use normal shotgun on 1st and 2nd slot to still have shotguns but third place i left for it. To always have this "emergency" hammer punch. I think its still worth using.
My loadout’s pretty weird:alt core, default pump, alt sawed on. Pretty much is just me preferring OG over pump, plus combining with SG parry is easier IMO.
I think for me, ultrakill might have too many weapons at this point. Alt weapons for the revolver, shotgun, and nailgun, 3 mods for each weapon that you're encouraged to constantly shuffle between. I struggle to incorporate most of the red weapons because my muscle memory is so ingrained with having two of each. I'll definitely check out the jackhammer though, having a melee heavy playstyle sounds dope.
