Wish I could redo it, honestly, but it still came out better than expected.
honestly, id have never noticed any of the problems you mentioned here, everything turned out super good also, huge props for sticking through with it to the end as well, that can easily be one of the most difficult parts
A man of culture. I am thinking of making a sort of montage of cybergrind set to space dandy music. Since I started making this guide, I went from my PB being wave 23 to 68, so I got some neat clips! EDIT: what's your favorite episode?
I dunno about mine... maybe the season 2 finale, or the fish episode (the one where they teleport) or the chameleonean episode. But pretty much all of them are amazing and can be rewatched many times. Except the musical episodes... I kinda don't vibe with those
This is awesome. I just uploaded a video of me doing this with coin adds and whiplashing the 4th coin to get 16x ultraricoshot (wasn't sure how to measure the damage but I did it in the Sisiyphus fight and I'm definitely missing on some extra damage due to timing).
if you feel like you can’t do most of these, there’s something really funny you can do: on bosses with long monologues (like gabriel rematch and minos prime) you can whiplash coins to make them bounce a small bit. I don’t know how to deadcoin, but i think whiplashing it could be absurdly useful in future runs
Gameplay depth is what keeps people coming back. You can discuss the graphics, story, progression, etc. as much as you want. But overall, especially over a longer period of time... gameplay is KING. Look at any game that has tech. You'll have people optimizing, exploring the mechanics, practicing for speedruns, making guides, etc etc. That's what I think, at least. (I still love good stories and pretty graphics, but if the gameplay is mid, I tend to never replay those games, or in the past few years, not even finish them).
@@Sheba7660 I searched for like 3 hours couldnt find anything and gave up And then this video properly explains it which allows me to properly learn it
I even removed the install tutorial from my channel. I guess I have to remove it from the comments here too. It hasn't been updated in a long time, so it doesn't work anymore.
Deadcoining is simple to execute, the hardest part is learning when to start doing it. Railcoin punches aren't TOO hard to get, as long as you are going for the 35 damage one. 42 damage is a bit harder, but you should be able to get it after practicing a few times before playing. The coin add is really hard, though, but it will feel easy once you master the previous steps. Once you learn the 35 damage one, regular railcoins will become so easy you'll be able to throw them out whenever. The damage display mod is in the pinned comment, it will help you get this tech down!
Mfw a fucking coin has enough tech to fuel 33 minutes of informational videos and several spreadsheets 🗿(thanks a ton tho, imma practice this now to deal with P-2 easier
It's not that hard to lans the 35 damage one. And you get to PUNCH LIGHTNING. I am waiting for Jmacca to come back and then we'll set up a download for the damage display mod. You'll learn it easily!
It's written in the pinned comment, too: " replace the file by the same name in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ULTRAKILL\ULTRAKILL_Data\Managed". We recommend backing up your original file, just so you don't have to redownload the game if something breaks. Also you might wanna back up your save, just in case ( \steamapps\common\ULTRAKILL\Saves). Turn on the subtitles to enable the mod, turn them off to play normally. I didn't have ANY issues with the game after installing, but you can never be too careful!
im still trying to do the rcp tech in sandbox, but even then the railgun either hits the first coin before i parry it or when i parry the coin,it does at maximum 2 ultraricoshots
2x rico is usually when you hit the close coin first. This happens because the rail has such a huge hitbox. You should watch the new coin video, too. There's some simpler stuff there, and SlCPs have like, a 2x longer timing window, so once you figre those out, RCPs should be a bit easier!
Holy shit, I P-ranked all levels (except P-1, lel), and thought I was good at this game. Oh, lord, after watching this vid I understand how wrong I was.
I P ranked the game, excluding P-1, like you. I thought I was good. Like 6 months later I came back and P ranked P-1, along with layers 5 and 6. I thought I was good. When messing around i accidentally landed an SRC and went down the rabbithole. Learned some new tech and I thought I was good. Over the next two weeks I went from cybergrind wave 23 to wave 68. I went from being unable to chargeback consistently to landing chargebacks mid rocket jump. You'll learn crazy stuff almost every time you boot this game up. You'll get really good with some practice, don't think any of us were great at the game when we started. Just practice here and there and develop your own style!
One day I will achieve mastery of the coin. Only then will I finally like defeat Minos? He still kicks my ass every single time, I'm barely P-Ranking the rest of the game xD
Probably punching too early, or too late. If you punch too early, your rail won't bounce to the coin before the punch, so you lose that bounce. yif you punch too late, you will get the animation for the coin punch, but the coin will despawn, giving you no damage. Use boss health bars to see which one it is! You should be able to figure out the timing
I really don't know what I'm doing wrong with deadcoins: I'm doing the setup, punch the coin into the ground 3 times and while it's in the air throw another coin and shoot it and repeat 3 more times. (4 more dead coins) I punch the coin into Minos 2 times but it doesn't deal the massive amount of damage and the style meter just says ricochet x4
The high ricoshot counter is purely aesthetic (it doesn't do more damage), and you can only get it by doing deadcoins during the split window (when the first coin is flashing or singing). As for the low damage... I'd say you're either dropping the combo somewhere, or you need to deadcoin more (some runners deadcoin even more than 4-5 coins because they use the whiplash to hold the coin in the air). If you need specific tips, ask around in the discord, especially speedrunners. Someone will surely be willing to take a look at your timing.
do you think its possible to slab rail and throw extra coins if your fast enough, like lets say you jump toss 2 coins slab rail press 1 twice to go back to marksman and throw the rest
It is possible, but it won't do much more damage than a regular SRC. The only real bonus damage would be from passthroughs. The real scary combo would be to combine deadcoining and SRCs (a lot of speedrunners do this already, just check the clips in my guide and you'll see both deadcoining and SRCs in many examples). I would love to see a deadcoin, slabrailcoin, and then adding 2 coins. That would be pretty cool! Fun fact: you can railcoinwhiplash, too. It's really stylish, but does less damage than railcoining.

Thanks for stopping by! I had no idea that this video would blow up the channel. My mic was bad, and I rushed the video towards the end because we were working on it for a month. Aaaand there was a few export issues because I was upscaling it to 4k, since small channels get their videos super compressed unless you upload in 4k.
Wish I could redo it, honestly, but it still came out better than expected.
honestly, id have never noticed any of the problems you mentioned here, everything turned out super good
also, huge props for sticking through with it to the end as well, that can easily be one of the most difficult parts
Hakitas reaction to those strats when they first came out must have been hilarious.
Never knew rpc and src existed, each day I always learn something new about this game!

A Space Dandy reference? In this day and age?
Amazing, hella swag even
A man of culture.
I am thinking of making a sort of montage of cybergrind set to space dandy music. Since I started making this guide, I went from my PB being wave 23 to 68, so I got some neat clips!
EDIT: what's your favorite episode?
@@Sheba7660 Damn, 68? Nice dude
I think my favourite one is episode 8, it's just damn good
I dunno about mine... maybe the season 2 finale, or the fish episode (the one where they teleport) or the chameleonean episode. But pretty much all of them are amazing and can be rewatched many times. Except the musical episodes... I kinda don't vibe with those
equivalent to charging up your charged stagger punish knock down
This is awesome.
Ultrakill players are like hollow knight speedrunners, they stretch the game to its limits just to squeeze off two milliseconds
@@Sheba7660 exactly! This is why some games like tf2 are still around
Oh so what I’ve been doing was a cruder version of RCP. I never knew it already had a term but neat.
Hakita was making ultrakill and was asking himself, what could I make coins do?
Oh I know, *YES*
That intro made ULTRAKILL in to INFINITEKILL
I knew coins were the strongest thing in the game, but I didn't expect something that was this strong... HOLY SHIT!
It will be a very scary day if the devs decide to add another hitscan weapon

I prescribe railcoinpunching every boss that ever gave you trouble twice a day. Early in the morning and once before bed.
Deadcoining for 3 minutes until you can kill gabriel in 6-2 with a single coin punch is pretty good practice
Great video! I've been looking for a guide on railcoinpunching for ages.

My brain hurts from the slabrailcoining but its ok :).
Would you believe me if I told you it still kinda feels like that for me, too?

Awesome vid
Just tried to install the damage display mod, had to delete ultrakill and reinstall it!
Things going so good rn
👍👍👍👍
I even removed the install tutorial from my channel. I guess I have to remove it from the comments here too. It hasn't been updated in a long time, so it doesn't work anymore.
I think the giga chad joke is infinitely funnier with the mute, it was so jarring
Well, that makes me feel somewhat better about it!
now when people ask "what the hell is deadcoining" or "what the fuck did you just do to gabe" I can link this (very good vid btw)
Thanks!
Fantastic video
God I literally cannot wait for update any longer
Im gonna explode
Bro, same.
Try learning some of this stuff while you wait! It'll keep you occupied for a few weeks!
Great video! The Jmacca gigachad bit got muted by UA-cam copyright though. :(
I know, I had to mute it so everyone could watch, as it got blocked in a few countries after I posted it.
I've noticed that the railgun hitstun is framerate dependent making the coin timing harder on higher framerate
I did not know this! Nice find!

I'm only a 1:18 in, and you have to be the first UA-camr I've seen to say "and now that I have your attention" and actually get to say it lmao.

pretty much, yeah
Ultrakill players go hard
We do a little coining
Thank you
No problem!
i can handle slabrailcoin but not the other ones
i simply do not have enough reaction time to do such
Deadcoining is simple to execute, the hardest part is learning when to start doing it.
The damage display mod is in the pinned comment, it will help you get this tech down!
great vid bruh
You gave me great clips to use, bro

Looking forward to it! Would be nice to update my guides, since I think my quality drastically improved since this video
I thought i was smart because I could do railcoin, but ultrarailcoinpunch is too much for me
It's not that hard to lans the 35 damage one. And you get to PUNCH LIGHTNING. I am waiting for Jmacca to come back and then we'll set up a download for the damage display mod. You'll learn it easily!
Damage display mod is up! Check the pinned comment!
@@Sheba7660 how do I install this
It's written in the pinned comment, too: " replace the file by the same name in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ULTRAKILL\ULTRAKILL_Data\Managed".
@@Sheba7660 Woah what a motivational post! Thank you!
[ok this is crazy] meme here
One day I will achieve mastery of the coin. Only then will I finally like defeat Minos? He still kicks my ass every single time, I'm barely P-Ranking the rest of the game xD
I just managed to do an RCP, I'm getting close >:D
i somehow made 43 damage with a normal rcp lmao
What am I doing wrong when the railcoinpunch gives me a x3 ricoshot instead of a x6?
Probably punching too early, or too late. If you punch too early, your rail won't bounce to the coin before the punch, so you lose that bounce. yif you punch too late, you will get the animation for the coin punch, but the coin will despawn, giving you no damage. Use boss health bars to see which one it is! You should be able to figure out the timing
I really don't know what I'm doing wrong with deadcoins:
I'm doing the setup, punch the coin into the ground 3 times and while it's in the air throw another coin and shoot it and repeat 3 more times.
Noted. I'll try to record a clip and ask about it in the server

@@Sheba7660 definitely would be great
do you think its possible to slab rail and throw extra coins if your fast enough, like lets say you jump toss 2 coins slab rail press 1 twice to go back to marksman and throw the rest
Isn’t flashy, impractical plays the whole point of ultrakill?
That's why I made the video :D
how do you play in the sandbox with your binds, i use them and i keep flying and stuff
