Maybe mentioned already, but the feedbox part around 3:30 there is a tip to improve it more. Like mentioned, the pals eat left to right. Fill up your extra feedbox slots with non perishable food like cotton candy. If the feedbox has no empty slots, food items are next taken to nearest cooler or fridge. Next is get a nocturnal cooling pet so it's cooled around the clock except when the pal eats. I used a vanwyrm cryst or however it's spelled, as I had the needed breeders I think.
This tutorial is so comprehensive and good. I was unsure if I wanted to get into breeding because it seemed pretty confusing to me. But after watching this video Im excited to try it out now. Awesome work and great explanations on everything. I watched multiple tutorials on this but this was really the only one that struck me. Thanks dude!
This is by far, THEE MOST well explained breeding guide I have come across on YT! I usually watch Austin John for his thorough breakdowns but this is top tier! Thank you!
Thank you for this. By far the clearest and most effective guide for understanding the semi-complicated task of breeding for specific passives. I recently watched all of your other Palworld videos and found them to be equally useful.
Awesome video. Another tip for anyone struggling to get large souls. Anubis can easily be mass bread, and drops bones and a 100% large soul upon "petting" him with the butchers knife. Since you only need 6 souls per stat, this is a viable method of obtaining souls while you are out looking for chests.
4:10 If you are playing single player, do yourself the favor of setting incubation time to 0 hours. You can hatch eggs instantly. There's no reason to wait an hour for it to hatch, and with the 100's of eggs you will go through breeding, this is going to save hours of your life
You can use cotton candy as a filter in the feed box and cake ingredients will be transported into cooler/fridge. Dont skimp on baked berries instead of regular berries in the feedbox as you can cook up a ton passively with multiple pots.
Dude your Elden Ring videos are the absolute best! So glad youre making videos for other games too! I was like oh this voice sounds familiar. You are the reason im the Elden Lord of my house!! Thank you!!!!!! cant wait for more palworld content!
For the feedbox you can put cottoncandy in the last slots which doesn't expire and makes the pals put the food into the fridge making the food last longer.
Small tip for the feedbox, you can fill tne other slots in it with cottoncandy, it dosent expire and will cause your pals to put the eggs and wheat into another chest like a nearby cooler.
All my palbox are full! Just barely started working on the breeding side of the game. Got a decent Lamball and Celeray for my first Wixen. Took a bit to get all the perks lined up but he has Swift, Artisan, and Workaholic. Which is pretty cool seeing him zoomy around my base. I can't picture how long it will take to get all my pals the full suite of traits like legendary, lucky, etc, etc...
@@ItsShatter You can put Pals in the Viewing Cages for more 40 extra slots, although if you do it too much it could lag. I agree though, we need a lot more spaces for Pals.
You can buy mozzarina from the pal merchant in the small settlement but to make sure you have enough gold I recommend finding and taking out a black marketer. Or you can get extremely lucky and come across the shady merchant with a small herd of them and catch a few. It happened to me on Icewind Island. Caught two of three and the merchant by accident. But once you have the honey I would recommend breeding for a beegrade to have a stable supply on hand.
You don't need Nimble and Runner because Jetdragon is almost already hitting the max speed a Pal is allowed to go before having Legend and Swift applied so more than that is overkill. Also IV's exist but since there's no way to manipulate it then its up to the individual to decide if they want to rip their hair out or not.
How do you know there is a max speed? Just out of curiosity. It certainly seems like the Jetragon I have with all buffs is going about 60% faster than the one without it. In any case, it’s still really useful to have a Jetragon with all the speed passives to do interbreeding with.
Interesting, I'll have to take a look. That being said, I just tested Jetragon with only legend vs all 4 speed buffs. Without sprinting, the fast Jetragon covered the same distance in 10 seconds as the one with just legend covered in 15 seconds. It took the Legend only Jetragon 1.5x as long to cover the same distance, meaning the fast Jetragon is 1.5x faster. If we divide 175% speed (4 speed passives) by 115% speed (only Legend) we get 1.52. So maybe there is a tiny bit of wasted speed, but not much.
I believe you need both Legend and Swift (or runner) to hit the speed cap on Jetragon. The last two slots can just be used for other passives. Still a solid guide though! Great job explaining the mechanics! Speedy Jetragon is just an unique case because of the cap.
Something else you can do to prevent your pals from putting anything in the feed box is filling every other slot with a single jar of honey. They don't spoil and with it technically being filled, they'll instead move the harvested food to your cooler.
I find the cows, chickens, and bee gaurds slack unless you give them one star upgrade. No matter what they have as passive skills, the one-star upgrade helps a lot!
For mounted move speed or worker productivity it seems very useful to breed the desired traits. However for a battle pal, isn't the Alpha Jetdragon just stronger cause it has 11k hp instead of 5k? Isn't that the same as having +100% defense? So catching an alpha with 1-2 good traits, probably already is stronger than a non-alpha with 4 traits when it comes to battle power.
I think the legendary alphas are the only things that don’t need to be bred, not all alpha pals that spawn are that much stronger, as the legendary alphas get a lot more increase to health than all the other bosses
Exactly, eggs should give baby alphas :xd,but still, for example in my team are pals that i like to have,i dont care about their strengh.i want to have fun in the game...is booring to play like majority do :xd
if you have a refrigerator fill your feed box slots with lets say berries. if there are no more slots in the feed box then eggs, honey etc will get sent to your fridge if you have them in there already.
Awesome video . One question concerning Jetragon, why do we need a jetragon that’s faster than it already is . I’m thinking of going for more damage . While I realize this was just an example, I’ve seen a lot of people lean towards the same speed passives . Thoughts anyone ?
i rly need someone to answer , do i have bigger chance when breeding passives with both parents have the same passives and i want like an extra one or it doesnt matter and having lets say double swifty wont increase swifty chance ,, like if i have 1 swifty on 1 parent thats enough and all the pasive just add to the pool for example male jetdragon with swifty+runner female jetdragon with swifty+runner and i want a jetdragon with swifty+runer+ nimble or male jetdragon swifty+runner female jetdragon swifty only do both the examples have the same chances of gettin my desires runner+swifty+nimble ? or the first 1 have more chance?
I am not entirely sure. I get the sense that having both with the desirable passives is better than just 1. That being said, I would rather have Swift + Runner with just Swift when compared to Swift + Runner and Swift + Runner + Hooligan/Some undesired passive. Hope this helps and wish I could give you a more definitive answer.
Amazing video thanks a lot I did not know the pal condeser would increase the lv of handi work when max another guide i saw didnt mention that I breed perfect worker anubis with serious, artisan, workaholic, and work slave its better than lucky btw i guess ill make him star lv 5 too! Ty
Hey Shatter, can you please do a complete playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077? Covering all the quests, loot, missable content and upgrades? Like how you did with Baldure's Gate 3 and Elden ring? (Love your content and I have 60+ hours in balure's gate just following your 3 videos. I'll only play CP 2077 i you make a playthrough guide, my FOMO is too much without your help)
Would it be possible to pass down a signature passive to a Pal that normally would require only the same species, like let’s say I wanted a Jormuntide Ignis with Flame Emperor but it’s not with any breeding combination with Blazamut.
Hey man good video, it seems you’re experienced with breeding and I am not exactly new to it, I got my 4/4 god roll Orserk, Jormuntide and Jormuntide Ignis, Warsect, Anubis, and even done a Blazamut for a pure fire type (better against ice pals). I’ve just now got my Jetragon with all 4 speed perks (took me the longest by far) However I have a question, I’ve noticed caught legendary pals have ALOT more health than bred ones, for example my fully condensed Jetragon has 4.5k health (not soul levelled ) while a random caught Jetragon I have has 10.3k hp. This caught Jetragon also has musclehead paired with the preset Legend and Divine dragon. I instantly went to go and breed it with a ferocious one I have, but wasn’t sure if it’s even worth breeding legendaries with how much stronger the wild ones are. I understand breeding essentially everything else is definitely worth it, but what do you think about the legendaries? Thanks
Yeah it is an interesting point to think about. Definitely nice for the speed. For damage, if a fully stacked Jetragon with Musclehead and Ferocious + Legend and Hooligan can do around 50% more damage than the wild version with just Ferocious or just Musclehead, then it might be worth the tradeoff for Health. However, it also might just be nice to have a Jetragon with all the traits purely for crossbreeding other Pals that you want.
@@ItsShatterthanks for the super quick response! And yeah the speed is without a shadow of a doubt 100% worth it, you feel the difference like crazy, and I guess with the damage vs health that just comes to the choice of the player, I personally wouldn’t mind sacrificing say 20-30% more damage for 2x the health, if I was to guess one with more health would technically do more damage overall against hard bosses because it would survive longer. Either way, great video man super informative and super simple to understand, I will be forwarding this video to all my friends so they stop asking me every question about breeding haha
I fill the first slot with the desired food, then fill the rest of the slots with honey or cotton candy. This forces the Pals to put all the other food they gather into the icebox.
I'm trying to breed an ultimate Katress and of course, ideally I get the Legend trait. I have buttloads of legendary pals at my disposal (Jetdragon, Frostallion, Necromus, etc). Is it possible to get a Katress with the Legend trait? I saw someone's Lifmunk with a Legend trait and if Lifmunk can then surely Katress can too. Thanks!
This is actually a great video and I’ve watched a lot of them. Trust me haha. Only thing this dude I is missing that I wish it had was the book cook tine for the cakes depending on the kindling level. Bc that’s honestly the slowest part of breeding. Also I don’t think one cake per egg is it?
Just a quick question, so if you breed jetdragon with any pal to transfer the legend passive, will it always be an egg of the other parent or will the egg be a random pal?
It won’t be a random pal, but it won’t always be the same as the other parent pal. You can use the website I linked in the pinned comment to check what the outcome will be of any two parent combination. You can also see what combination will make the Pal that you want, given that one parent must be Jetragon.
great guide, but its missing IV. Every pal has different stats for HP, attack and defense. If you breed two pals, the offspring will always have IV in between the parents, never above or below. There are IV calculators where you can find out how good or bad your pals base stats are, but for it to be percise, youll have to level up your pal to around lv15 (one grizzbolt boss fight should do it) theres a lot more to it and its a hussle to find good IV parents while also getting the passives you want, but it can give your pal up to 30% better stats
the only game where using Eugenics to make the a Mentally stumped, Violent creature is a good thing Musclehead make it "slower" at working anything than being Slacker. but also add more attack than having legendary bloodline passed into them.
correct me if I´m wrong: I´ve caught a jetragon with his usual passives and musclehead (also every legendary I´ve caught always only had 3 passives, is that a thing?) I thought to make him perfect as a combat pal I would wanna breed one with ferocious aswell but breeded legendarys do not have their insane hp value so I think I´m better off sticking with the one I got than getting one with the +20% of ferocious but 10k less hp, no?
It definitely is a tradeoff to consider. Legendary/alpha Jetragon is pretty strong all on its own, might be worth just keeping that. I don't care for the larger body size though, tends to get in the way of aiming missiles lol. As for the 3 passives on a caught legendary, I have experienced that much of the time too, but it's not always the case. I have had one time where it was just Legend and Divine Dragon and nothing else. I don't think I've ever caught one with 4 passives though.
So the only downside is the offspring of the legendaries won't have as much HP like their parents but we get all the passive we need still worth it right?
Guys i've a question. Does iv matter??? I mean. You can have the same pal, both at same level, but with different stats. This is like pokemon where iv make a big difference. Here, i read that a 0-30% extra life/damage/defense can be applied due to the ivs of the pal. So if you only look in passives, you can have a full passive of X but with 0 ivs in that case, another pal with ivs and 0 passives can be more powerfull. Im right???? Or iv no matter???
Shiny/Large has to do with the "Lucky" trait/passive. While Lucky can be passed down, the enlarged size that comes with Lucky/Shiny Pals caught in the wild cannot be passed down.
Sadly the best way to make overpowered pals is to get a god roll on a boss pal catch and then condense other caught or bred pals onto the boss pal, as the boss pal will keep its unique ability and its increased health (Often 3-4 times or so more than the bred non-boss pals) If you don't care for health and unique ability though, and want purely speed, then breeding is most definitely the way to go.
What do you mean by unique ability? Divine dragon? As far as I know the only benefits the boss version gets is extra health. I think the bred versions can do a lot more damage if you breed all the damage traits in. Hypothetically you could get a jetragon boss with legend, musclehead, ferocious, and divine dragon. That would be awesome! It’s just that the chance of that happening is abysmal.
@@ItsShatter I've found that bred pals typically don't come with their signature ability, I'm talking about their move set, their skills/attacks, not the traits. There's already videos out there of a boss pal with good traits vs a bred pal with perfectly bred traits, the boss pal outlasted the bred pal and did more damage overall.
@@tyrians Bred Jetragon has all the same moves/ active skill once you get it to level 50. Not sure about a side by side comparison but it’s true that the alpha versions of legendarys have more health
52 Breeding trys of this cloud dear One is Nimble Swift Fearless the otherone is Muselhead and Switft, and Vanguard ~30 with one 1 Ability ~15 with two mostly one from the top and one other or trash ~ 4 with 1/2 from parrents and 2 randoms mostly trash ~ 2 with 2/3 from parrents and and 1 trash
It’s super worth it when you think that eventually level cap will be increased and new islands will be released to explore! The ones who took all the time to breed beasts will have a much easier time fighting whatever else they bring out than the ones who don’t, and to be completely honest for me personally breeding out 100’s of creatures to finally get that god roll feels super satisfying

theres a lot more to it and its a hussle to find good IV parents while also getting the passives you want, but it can give your pal up to 30% better stats
the only game where using Eugenics to make the a Mentally stumped, Violent creature is a good thing
Musclehead make it "slower" at working anything than being Slacker. but also add more attack than having legendary bloodline passed into them.
correct me if I´m wrong: I´ve caught a jetragon with his usual passives and musclehead (also every legendary I´ve caught always only had 3 passives, is that a thing?) I thought to make him perfect as a combat pal I would wanna breed one with ferocious aswell but breeded legendarys do not have their insane hp value so I think I´m better off sticking with the one I got than getting one with the +20% of ferocious but 10k less hp, no?
It definitely is a tradeoff to consider. Legendary/alpha Jetragon is pretty strong all on its own, might be worth just keeping that. I don't care for the larger body size though, tends to get in the way of aiming missiles lol.
As for the 3 passives on a caught legendary, I have experienced that much of the time too, but it's not always the case. I have had one time where it was just Legend and Divine Dragon and nothing else. I don't think I've ever caught one with 4 passives though.
Are there any pals you can get exclusively from breeding?
Can you also pass down species specific attacks when crossbreeding?
I have a question if may , can pass down signature passives? Like lord of the underworld etc?
Yes you can
If this man taught me in school I’d be straight A’s
I might've missed it but, what happens if you breed a pal with stars? do the stars get inherited as well?
I do not think so.
Can traits from the inherentence pool result in higher or lower levels?
I was blessed by the RNG gods. Found a lucky artisan diet lover mozzarina when i was looking for them the first time 😂
Could you make a video or give me a list of your world settings?
Everything is default except for the loot drop on death. I have that set to drop everything but equipment /equipped gear.
So the only downside is the offspring of the legendaries won't have as much HP like their parents but we get all the passive we need still worth it right?
“LOVANDER HERE I COME!”-joker
My base Anubis

Good?
This video is insane, well done.
Can the shiny/large trait be passed down through breeding? Or can they even be bred at all? Is shiny/large variants all just RNG?
Shiny/Large has to do with the "Lucky" trait/passive. While Lucky can be passed down, the enlarged size that comes with Lucky/Shiny Pals caught in the wild cannot be passed down.
may i know if i breed, the offspring will always be male? or it's rng? cause i already breed a few and all the offspring is male
Man.. I always end up at your videos whether it be from fromsoft or Palworld etc etc..maybe I should subscribe. Lol.

What if you breed two pals with same best stats, will they produce an offspring with same best stats?
Do the cakes go bad while in the box?
Chikipi is the only one who can´t get the legend trait :(
I found the best xp farm to be the tower glitch where you can catch the boss, victor and shadow beak will give you the most xp
awesome
It's like im in biology class
My undergrad was in molecular biology and I definitely got familiar vibes lol. It’s actually pretty neat!
How can I get legend on a lifmunk?
does alpha jetragon have better stats than one that are bred?
It has better HP. Not sure about everything else.
@@ItsShatter I just breed one with the attack passive, definitely has better attack but lacks alot of hp compare to alpha one
I assume if you upgrade a pal and then breed it, the stars aren't passed on?
I do not think they are.
Is it messed up if I use a pal and their parents to breed?
Hey really enjoyed ur videos, Are you planning to make some for Sekiro maybe?
Not to be dramatic, but I would die for Marshmallow
Jet dragon kept annoying me, it’s jet RAGON not dragon
Good video, but really don't see a reason to make op Pals since game is easy now. I guess for future PvP and Raids
It’s super worth it when you think that eventually level cap will be increased and new islands will be released to explore! The ones who took all the time to breed beasts will have a much easier time fighting whatever else they bring out than the ones who don’t, and to be completely honest for me personally breeding out 100’s of creatures to finally get that god roll feels super satisfying
very clear and consise. thank you very much for this! i was 90% right on this but thank you for clarifying a few points i wasn't sure on.
