I've been itching for a second gen Camaro for quite a while, and Mr. Larry gave me the opportunity to buy his beloved '79 as long as I brought it back to him for a ride once I got it up and running again. Think we can bring this car back to its former glory to show off for the original owner? Stick around for the transformation!

How old is the older man?
Very nice car and story 👍
If something was to ever happen to me, I would want a young man like yourself Dylan to have my car and keep it going. Excellent video and i wish nothing but the best for you sir.
Not all stories of cars end like this! Thank you for saving it and enabling the original owner to share in the love of these wonderful machines! Very well done and can’t wait to see what you do with this one.
Now I am kicking myself for getting rid of my dad's 91 Ford Aerostar Eddie Bauer edition and having you make it a Road-steration great video to watch after being fired from my job Monday
What a wonderful story...You made that man's day, that's for sure. Have to say, this is the best revival will it run I've watched among all the channels I follow...Thank you Dylan for bringing such an amazing story, and bringing some joy to a very deserving man.
With you 💯👍
Amen
@MariaCanccer hang in there...perseverance will prevail in the end
I have a new level of respect for you not only as a mechanic but as a man. You brought joy to a man that is obviously dealing with a tremendous amount of suffering. I pray that your channel doubles in subscribers and you can continue to be successful. Great work Dylan!
You're a good man Dylan. It's great that he got to enjoy the car one more time.
The best part of this video was seeing the smile on his face as he got to ride in his old car. God bless you for giving a smile to an old man and Car lover like Larry.
Correction: You have to be McSafe before you can be McCool.
MC cool is a pretty cool gu😂😂🎉y I really really really really really like him😊😊😊❤❤❤❤

This teared me up a little, seeing Larry enjoy his old car again. For some folks, a car is just transportation, but for others, it is part of their spirit, or personality. God bless Larry and you Dylan for bringing his Camaro back from oblivion.
What a truly heartwarming video Dylan. The best part was seeing you with the previous owner enjoying the drive together. I hope he found a lot of peace and comfort doing that. Hands down the best resto video I've ever seen. I love hearing your plans for the future with the car. Those old Camaros take me back to my childhood which made it even more special. Great bible scripture at the end too. God bless you Dylan McCool! 🙏
You can genuinely hear that gentleman's voice perk up the more y'all drove around. It clearly gave him some much deserved strength. Don't be surprised if you hear stories from his family about how he talked for days on end about that one simple gesture of a ride on a sunny day. You made your family, fans and followers proud.
You Sir McCool moved me to tears doing this for Mr Larry
Very cool that you could take the Mr. Larry for a ride and let him see what you are doing with it. I could tell by the look on his face that he thoroughly enjoyed it. God Bless!
Mr Larry is blessed to have a "friend" like you.
Love these camaro's, but more importantly, is your willingness to share your faith online. Bless you Dylan.
Excellent video, Dylan. It was so great to see the original owner re-experience his car with all the new upgrades.
Nice work Dylan. What a cool story. Glad the owner was willing to share his time and memories with us all in your video. 👍 Thanks!
What a great story, so much more than just a car revival. Your kindness and new friendship with Mr. Larry was so heartwarming. You have a good heart as well as a caring and loving spirit. You really are special. Thanks for sharing your time and adventures with us. Peace
Praying for Larry. That's a very cool thing you have done. Take care and God bless!
I absolutely loved the last two videos on the 79 Camaro. That car is very close to my heart. My first car was a 1978 that had the exact same engine only difference it was a type LT and a four-speed manual. I owned it for six years and took me through high school and college. Keep up the great videos on this car. Would be looking forward to seeing more on it.
Thank you for continuing the car's legacy with a final drive with the previous owner. May he have peace in his final days and may you continue to care for this beautiful car. Peace!
Dylan, I've been doing mechanics for 30+ years. It's rare to come across a car like this. It's something that I feel you should get blessed with over, and over. To see his smile, by itself, makes every minute you spent on it, all worth it. I knew you're a Christian and your folks should be so proud of the man you're becoming. I've admired your work and it's given me a lot of hope for young people. You're a talented young man. I wish my own kids would take notice of how hard you work. I know first hand, how difficult waking an old car up is. There's a lot of different schools of thought about where to take the car. A Camaro of this vintage, deserves a good, healthy small block 400, good cam, a square bore carb, long tubes, maybe rebuild the trans. A good set of aluminum heads, like Brodix or AFR's. But I also get it's your car. Just my two cents. Again, good job on holding up to your end of the deal.
Your a good man Dylan , it’s not easy seeing a cherished vehicle leave , but knowing it’s has a new lease of life is a great thing . I hope you keep that car for a long time 😊
You made that old man very very happy and proud
You allowed a man by the end of his journey a truly happy moment enabling him to make a reference back to his most cherished past days. Emotionally not an easy thing to do... It displays though that behind some YT-Profiles live genuinely good people with a lot of heart. Knowing that makes my day. God bless you Dylan McCool.
That baby cleaned up beautiful..nice job Dylan...Prayers for Mr. Larry.
She really cleaned up quite well. It warms my heart to see you give the pervious owner a good show, and enjoy the car again. Having lost my grandfather from cancer, I know that time can be of the essence, so I'm ecstatic you were able to pull it off for him.
You have done amazing things with this car. I'm really glad that the original owner got to enjoy the ride as well, he seemed to like it. Keep up the good work!
Dylan I would like to say God bless you for being a good man and being there for Larry. I love your channel and keep on doing what you're doing 👍✌️🇺🇲
Bro I saw one of your videos on Facebook and stopped by your channel a couple weeks ago. I’ve never been into anything with cars! Now I love watching your videos! I love How you put Bible verses in the description! God Bless man❤️
Ahh man! The 2nd gen Camaros are my all-time favorite car. My dream is a '70 with a high-comp 396
Absolutely beautiful. Thank you, Dylan for resurrecting the car and wishing Mr.Larry all the very best. Wholesome content. 🇬🇧 🇺🇲
Huge amount of respect from this video, you're a good dude doing good deeds in a world of hate and division.
Also as a long time F body owner (have had my 88 IROC for 17 years now, first car) it looks to me like you're hooked.
F bodies aren't for everybody, but for some they become a way of life.
Mine was always incredibly reliable also and never let me down before I restored and LS swapped it.
The original 305 leaked and burned every fluid you put in it, but it never ever let me down.
This story made me think of a passage from the John McRae poem "In Flanders Field".
"To you from failing hands we throw the torch. Be yours to hold it high."
@mariacanceri "Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, And let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth; Walk in the ways of your heart, And in the sight of your eyes; But know that for all these God will bring you into judgment." ~ Ecclesiastes 11:9
Stay strong....miracles happen every day.
I do love hearing you share the faith in your videos. Great stuff mate
My HS car was a 79 Camero “Berlinetta” edition. Drove that thing to hell and back. Air shocks, fat tires, louvers and of corse a set of Keystone classics. This brought back a ton of memories, thanks for saving it.
Man, this hits close to home. My mother just passed away, and she had a 79 Ralley Sport, was beautiful. Sat outside for years though, so it was pretty rough. But I got it running for her before she left us, and sadly we sold it down the line to a good friend. Who's mom loves Camaros just as much, so luckily it's at a good home, and we know where it is.
My buddy has been doing the restoration on it for the last few years, and it's really close. Just wish my mom was able to see it done. But she will up in heaven, where she's not in pain any more.
Thanks for another great video, with a sad, but great story, and meaning behind it. God speed Larry.
This was a tear jerker for me what a beautiful camaro and beautiful story your a special person dylan I believe you blessed the original owner of it im happy he got to see it and ride in it and know its in a great new home god bless
Beautiful old Camaro. I can not tell you how many friends and relatives had these back int he day.... Thanks for bringing it back to life.
Love your videos Dylan, been waiting for this one
It's a great thing the older generation of gear heads and the newer generation of gear heads coming together!!!
Not many words exchanged but they both let car speak for them !!!
nice job! Simply amazing Dylan! Is so nice to see a young guy with your amount of knowledge and skill. You should use this car for the next HRPT. much love from indiana!
Something that’s really great about your videos is that you show the more difficult repairs but bypass a lot of the simple “Putting back together” process. Love this car!
Thank you for sharing this with us all, all me and my wife could say was your like God's mechanic, you really made that man's day, as well as ours keep up the good work sending love and prayers from us all here in England x
Definitely going to need a part 3 on this car!
Update the suspension with new bushings and new shocks with new tires and you will have a nice handling and fairly fast car. You can order nearly everything for the interior these days. Add another trim ring and new center caps and it will look fantastic.
Amazing the orginal owner was able to see it and take a drive in it and I'm glad it made him smile and brought back amazing memories great video as always @Dylan McCool
What was the drill attachment you used on the white letter tires? Worked great!
Great video that was very kind of you, you truly made Larry's day! I had a 79 Camaro dark blue 350 auto it had an 80 z28 hood I put on it, bought it in 1984 and in 2001 when my wife and I were buying our home I told James our realtor I was selling the Camaro for the down payment and he said he wanted it, so it was our down payment for our home. LOVED every minute of driving that car. We hope you enjoy that beauty for many years to come.
Awesome video Dylan! I hope to see an update on this one if/when you do some more fixes or upgrades. Interior could use a little help and it would make a world of difference. God bless!
Good of you to take it back to the owner for a spin. I have a 120yo lathe that a 94 yo guy needed to get rid of. I have restored it to working order and he wants to come over and use it for a small job of which he is always welcome. Great channel Dylan.
But of course I don't have a real license I just have a learner's permit
Awesome video with the prior owner!! The world needs more people like you Dylan!! 👏
Cleaned up good. Made that Man's day to give Him a ride. Knew You where a Good Man the day I met You. Mopar Nats. Columbus Ohio. Just before covid hit. I recognized that Duster You had. Met Your Dad too. Another Good Man. Keep up the goodness You possess.
Thank you for the appropriate 80's music 🎶 during the power wash... I went back in time 😊.
Thanks Dillon for helping that man have a great memory 🙏
Wow Dylan, what a nice car, and a wonderful story attached to her. You could see the joy in Mr. Larry's face as you guys were cruising down the road and what more could you ask for. This was a great series so far, can't wait to see what you have in store for it! Cheers.
Dylan. Of the revival videos available on UA-cam, this is the most touching one I can think of, this includes my own. I’m glad the previous owner agreed to come on camera. You did a great thing and brought him a day of peace, comfort joy and happiness. You are a good host but an even better person. I’ve done over a dozen revivals in my lifetime and the most special is when the previous owner gets to see their former car they cared about brought back to life. I got a 65 Galaxie from the original owner that received it as a wedding present in lieu of a wedding reception. I Got it in 2009, he got to see me start it for the first time since 1979 and drive it on the trailer. I chose to repaint it to match the 65 Galaxie my grandfather had. Unfortunately by the time I had it back on the road and repainted, the original owner had passed away however the grandson has seen it and took a bunch of pictures and shared it with the family. I wish he could have seen it. I still have it and it’s my power tour plan B. Maybe you’ll bring the Camaro on power tour, I’d love to see it in person. Lastly congratulations on your upcoming daughter. Aaron.
Bless you, Dylan for taking care to give the gentleman his memories 😊..
Been holding off from subscribing for a while. After seeing this video and how you treated a person with a very heavy burden, I am a subscriber. Very nice story. Well done.
The last few minutes of your video really touched me. I watched the love of my life go out that way. It's great that you could give him a few minutes of joy. Blessings to you and your family. Thank you...
Love it! I had a 1978 from 1992-1997, then bought a 1995. Now, I own a 1999 and a 2012. Love Camaros. Such a shame every time Chevy stops making them.
What a wonderful reason to bring a Barn Fined Camaro back to life and surprise the ailing former owner! I remember having a Camaro similar to this one, when I was younger, so you not only surprised the former owner, but you also brought back a lot of memories to me as well! Thank you!
Hey Dylan, I'm watching your revivals from France. The story of that one make me really happy. It's a beautiful story, you're a really good person. Thanks for that
thank you Dylan for reminding me that I was young once, I had 78 camaro same white color with blue interior back when I was in my 20's, I enjoyed all your works, you are what we call in Texas good people, thanks for being kind to previous owner
I can see you don't do windows LOL when you were driving down the old owners driveway. Brings back memories of my 79 Z-28 that I custom ordered also. Thanks
What a lovely story. This is more than just about the camaro revival. Great job Dylan. 👍
God bless you brother not only did you bring the car back to life but you made his day .
Bless you, Dylan, for bringing this man some joy as he nears the end of his life.
Thanks! It cleaned up great. My dad had a 79 T-top with a 350 & 5 speed. Black with tan interior and 15" rally wheels with white letters. He used to pick me up from the babysitter in it and chirp second 😉 we even built my first model car together and it was a 79 Z28. It was really nice to see that Mr. Larry enjoyed the old girl 👌🏻🤘🏻
You're a gentleman and you did a really nice thing for a man who needed kindness. Thank you.
God Bless your heart Dylan! I'm excited to see where the story of the T-Top Camaro takes you and your family.
Thanks for being a good man in our new world of backward ethics. Goes around comes around. May you find good projects, success, and good people along your journey.
Hi Dylan
You have a heart of gold for what you done to this car , then taking the gent out for a ride to see the life you have restored into his car what thing to do god bless you, loved this story behind this car . Thank you
When you hit the twilight of your driving life, you look for your comfort or memory car or truck. I would like to have that same smile on my face on my last drive..as I did on my first. Blessings y'all.
Thank you so much for this video in particular as it inspired me to drive the car I bought almost a year ago. I bought a 4th generation 1st year Trans Am in very good condition for the price I paid. Like your Camaro, my car needs cosmetic cleanup and small repairs. I planned on buying all kinds of performance improvements and putting a little “Lipstick” on the outside. Real is, I only need to get the seat’s fixed to get them comfortable and looking better. Just have fun with it, I’m disabled and truthfully I probably couldn’t do the work anyway. “God Bless You” for the kindness you showed for the previous owner. You are truly a good guy!
I recently (last December) lost my wife of almost 32 years to colorectal cancer. To see that sweet old fella smiling so big to see his old car fixed up, left me sobbing. There's not so much to smile about near the end, but you sure made him happy, and blessed him beyond measure.
Very cool you held your promise. You made his day and the biggest smile out of him. Much respect to you .
GOD BLESS YOU DYLAN, CHRIST SMILED UPON YOU FOR YOU TAKING MR LARRY FOR A DRIVE! MUCH RESPECT FROM DOWN UNDER.
God bless you, Dylan for bringing that 79 Camaro back to life and making the previous owner smile again.🇨🇦🇺🇸👍❤️
God bless you, Dylan. You have a heart of gold. You made the old owners day. Probably the best day he’s had in a long time. Thanks for staying true to your word to him!
You are a good and faithful servant.
Love this video. You are now my favorite you tuber! I feel you are more regular guy than anyone else, and will watching all your videos. God bless!
God bless you on this project, Dillon. The sight of Larry being able to be out in that car made a good Roadsteration even better.
Nice to see the previous owner riding his old car, your a good man👍👍
Wow, watching this video brought back a lot of old memories for me. I was born in 70, first car I bought at 16 was a 77 camaro, learned a lot from having that car. Next 10 years I ended up owning many different years of Camaros, 78,79,80 ,82 Firebird, 86 Iroc, 88 ,89 Camaro sold my last Camaro in 05 when my last son was born and just recently last year bought a 2013 LT with 56k miles on it. That is a nice barn find, hope you enjoy it.
Well done Dylan. I was 21 years old when this was brand new and remember them well. Enjoy your time with it and be proud of the message it represents. Peace, my friend.
What a beautiful story brother, nice of you to do that for Larry! 🙏
Your spring trick is the same way I put springs in skidsteer bucket locks. Our safety man came to the shop once while I was doing this and asked me what was I doing. I told him, "sketchy shit" and he walked away. lol
Another great job young man! I really enjoy your videos and your spiritual passages that you read with the work you do is very respectful and refreshing. Well done.👍
I really liked this one. The ride at the end said it all. My hats off to you for taking him on that ride.
Seeing this video series has me on FB marketplace looking for similar vintage gems. What a wonderful story, great car, and so glad your giving that car a new life. Great video, Dylan.
I appreciate that You won't trash it, She's good the way she is.
I would love another 79. I had one back in 90. So hard to find a good one for decent price. Nothing better than being able to get one back on the road and help a sick owner live his dream again. Best of luck on this journey and hope we get to see the man get his wish soon.
Good on ya Dylan! You’ve done the right thing, brought a smile to the original owners face. He’s happy about where His Car is. He knows you will take care of it. Well done! And, thank you for taking us along.
Well done D , glad he let you film him too. God bless him.
What a great story and video. You did well Dylan!
Had an 81, had wide tires on 4 corners, great fun to drive on the curves, really hugged the road and was very stable. Good luck Brother!
God Bless you, Dylan for adding some Joy to Mr Larry's life by your kind gesture of including him in this video. And, finally: God Bless you, Mr Larry...I hope & pray that you are saved by the blood of the Lamb! I lost my Mom almost 19 yrs ago to the Scourge known as cancer.. Go rest HIGH on that Mountain, Sir...GodSpeed!!
So kind and cool of you to remember him when you got it rolling again 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you Dylan, that was an amazing thing you’ve done for Mr Larry
That is one sweet Camaro. Like the sound of the exhaust and how you revived the interior.
Having a 1980 myself as a daily driver I must say, this revival pumps me up to use mine even more. Use the hell outta that car man, hope we cross paths one day in our 'maros.
Makes me feel good that you were able to take it back for Larry to see and go for a ride. God bless
