Not quite Virtue's Last Reward, not quite Halloween, but a needed step to continue towards closing the RE series. Still working on VLR, though Shadow Hearts fans should be pleased to learn ground is being broken very soon. Stay tuned!
JHawksNumbr1 Yeah, it has the best gunplay for 3rd person RE game, a great balance of survival & action horror with intuitive movements. Too bad, with the episodic style crap Capcom pulled off, the game got hyped down. I prefer this game than RE7 to be honest.
Claire has a tendency to be put at the best written RE games even though she constantly gets shafted for the sake of lesser written characters like Barry or that dude from Code Veronica.
I would say combat has changed considerably from the first Revelations. You move a lot faster. You can dodge on command as opposed to flinging an analog stick at the right time. There's also emphasis on other things like stealth and using your partner.
That's a good point. Even though the core actions are the same, things are much more polished. The dodge works slightly better, you character is much more nimble, and stealth is promoted.
i play it more then I played Res 2. Got a major crush on Claire lol. When the remake comes out the world will no longer see me. How could you forget an ass like that? I have forgotten other games besides 7. Loved 7.
the main problem for RER2 for me is that it's episodic and i despise that practise, i should buy it once it's on sale though but till that time this game will be rotting away somewhere because of the oh so glorious "episodic release" practise.

Quite the lovely recap. I must admit, my experience with Resident Evil has been fragmented at best, but this series has been helping me keep up with games seldom have time to devote towards completing them. Thanks very much for the video, and I'll see you at the next outbreak.
this is game has one of the best (if not the best) lore of any resident evil game by far, it is so well structured, so well told, it has such good characters, it plays out smoothly and it ties perfectly to other games while leaving a perfect cliffhanger, creating room for other games to pick up from, all this while being complete in itself, i love this game.
Because of the shitty "episodic" experience that CAPCOM tried to experiment, RER2 became such an overlook game for RE series. Honestly, it's probably the best mix of survival & action horror gunplay in RE games. Also, it's definitely have some influences from Alan Wake & Last of Us.
I absolutely love your channel, and specifically, the Recapitation series. I'm very new to the channel, but I stumbled across it while searching for the story of the Ys series. I recently picked up Ys VIII, but haven't played through the earlier games, so I was hoping to find story recaps of the earlier games in the series. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any decent videos on the stories in the Ys games, though there seem to be tons of reviews on the gameplay aspect, while being quite light on the story aspect. So might I suggest a Recapitation vid on Ys Books I and II? I know their first release was two seperate games, but they've been re-released numerous times together since they were intended on being a single game to begin with. Thanks, and keep up the awesome work.
You know, I find that to be true of a lot of RPG series, it's kind of why I started this project. Ys is a series that is gaining some more attention thanks to the success of Origins and 8, but it deserves to be looked at. I will add it to the queue.
Loving those quirky jokes about the old re1 dub anout magnum being very powerful especially against living things as well as those other ones involving sandwiches and unlocking. XD
I'm relatively new to your Channel but I love the work that you've done with your FF series and others, was delighted to see the legend of dragoons! Would you consider doing suikoden??
Thanks so much I love you're content and love that game!! I'm excited to see those they start coming out, also will probably start seeing me as UA-camr Antman2050 showing up on your Channel word where the same person.
Hi oni it's me Trebor Eroom love you chanel!! If you get some time feel free to check mine out. You well see me a lot more as Trebor, keep up the good work!!
Nice overview, as usual ^_^. My best friend and I were so excited, but could never bring ourselves to finish this game. Perhaps it was a burn out from playing so many similar things or our dissapointment in the handling of the story (personal preferences is all), so thank you for this. Always love the short, sweet, well constructed and format you place on these. Not only did you ignore the episodic nature of the game, but set the overview in a way that was seemless. Well done! ^_^. Can’t wait for me! (Take your time though, quality over quantity and all.)
I wonder what happens to Natalia now that she is Alex. It definitely left an opening for a new RE, assuming she just doesn't lay low and live her life as Natalia now. Maybe some Burton family love will make her a little less psychotic.
Always good work. Throwing my hat in the ring with Lunar: The Silver Star Story complete. (With a bonus to Eternal Blue) While I slide my george washington into your patrion machine.
I can only concur that the Resident Evil series will definitely end with Alex Wesker in her new body as the last, and ultimate villain even way more powerful than Albert.
I love these Revelations games, where else could you have played as Barry, aside from an 8-bit sprite in a terrible gameboy game? It’s like, the stories aren’t Triple-A level, but they provide fun little romps that fill in the gaps. I know Capcom has distanced the series from these characters with RE7, but I don’t like that. A lot of us have been with these characters since we were kids. Chris Redfield got some love in 7, but 8 doesn’t have to some crazy new virus/whatever that mold was, like in 7, there are plenty of viruses in the series. Just use the G-virus again, and work on a really really good STORY. Maybe with Jake Wesker, Sherry, Leon, Barry, Jill, Chris, Claire, Parker, etc. We don’t need MORE characters, we need to craft great stories around existing ones, and maybe think about killing some off in heroic, meaningful fashion. Just not Barry. Oh & just bc we’re remaking RE2 & hopefully more, that doesn’t need to be the main focus. A new mainline title & a Revelations title for every remake. IMO.
The game was pretty okay to me. If I have to be honest, Rev2 is probably better than Rev1 because it is more consistent in level design. Though the boat level in the first Rev is better designed. But it has flaws on its own. First off, some parts of the game in the later levels can drag on a bit. Second, even if the game has a horror atmosphere, the environment itself is kind of generic and not that memorable. Third, it's cool that they added stealth in equation but it can be easily exploited against harsher enemies. And fourth, it relies too heavily on fan service which in my opinion is a cheap way on delivering humor. I also forgot to mention that the game kind of lacks challenge. The story isn't great, it can be rather idiotic, but interesting enough to be suspenseful, but it's Resident Evil. The series isn't very famous for Shakespearean plots. The approach to co-op I can say is pretty refreshing compared to previous RE titles since all characters have their flaws and attributes which makes all four characters useful, and I like that they brought the character switch mechanic from RE:Zero. I found Moira to be an annoying teen with a potty mouth at first, but she grows on me as a character near the end. She is, dare I say, an actual character with an actual character growth unlike...ahem ahem...a Mary Sue character named Ellie from that famous known game people are fond of lately? It's also strange that a lot of people give high praises to RE7 and bash on Rev2 even though they both share similar flaws like for example the sections that can drag on, an easy approach to an alternate ending that can be summed up by a button prompt, the lack of challenge and so on. But I can at least excuse Rev2 for some flaws since that game had a budget of a pocket money and RE7 cost a lot during the development and don't we forget that they also designed a new engine for it.

Well I think that Resident Evil revelations 3 will come out 2023 or 2024. Jake muller and sherry bikin and Rebecca chambers. But I think there more a deadlier virus with unrespect and mutated on the villen alex wesker and darker Albert wesker features in the video games trailers.

One of the best modern day RE's hands down. It should have been given a bigger budget and been one of the numbered RE's if you ask me.

An entry that some Resi fans overlooked contains one hell of a loose end that can set up a potential new installment
Couldn't resist the sandwich nod.
It was in the game, and a really crap line in game. I chalk it up, as Barry trying to lighten the mood.
The bleeding effect is not new, it was introduced back in 2003 with resident evil outbreak
Now if wesker was able to turn into that and control it he would've been dope.
