Dan, you have a lot of talent... from your weathering work to being a great teacher! I have been modeling for 43 years and never mastered the art of weathering the way you have. Perhaps now I will, thanks to your fine tutorials. Thanks for your contribution to this community!
Ok guys so heads up! I am uploading another part of this video now. It has all the lost clips that disappeared from this series! Sorry for the editing issues! : O
Your work is awesome. That car is hard run rust bucket. I can just imagine the door when is open how harsh the screeching sound must be from the rust and grime especially on the doors
absolutely outstanding.. I've added this three part series to my favs..and will watch and re watch ..many times.. really great stuff. such a handle on just what to do and why.. Thank you for sharing. Tom
I'm color blind so I can't thank you enough for describing the process and color layers. I can't see what you see but it helps to know the process, color names and first layers to the later. Thank you sincerely.
Great job on this one! Really amazing transformation, hopefully I can make one as nice as this. I would have like to see the techniques used for the roof weathering, that turned out very realistic. Don't forget to paint or airbrush the bottom of the car so you get the inside edge of the yellow carbody. Appreciate the tip for the ghost lettering decals, I'll definitely be ordering some of those!
@@sdrailproductions agreed. As an O scaler myself I've inquired about shelf couplers but they are adamant about not being interested. Luckily they do make regular type E knuckle couplers that are very well detailed, I guess at this point just make the shelves lol
@@AbelG8781 That is pretty neat imo, so many manufacturers have different styles like Kadee is popular and Sargent has the appropriate ones and look realistic than others
@@sdrailproductions that's true for sure. I love KD for their quality and performance but in reality Sargent makes some of the best looking couplers out there!
Dan, I like your videos but in this case.....the video started off with you talking about airbrush effects, did the software edit that out? Another annoying thing is when the video just stops right in the middle of you doing something like at the end of the second vid. If that's the new editing software, it's time to chuck it. Go back to what you were using before, hell movie maker would do a better job than what you have now.
Yeah I don't know why it compresses these videos so bad. Basically I lost the airbrush footage, it compressed it out. Why? I don't know. The rough cuts are something that don't appear in the final edited video either. It's frustrating because I am flying blind with what the finished product will look like. I am trying some different software now but I am running into a few problems.

Your work as always is second to none!
Great videos Dan! Wondering how you measure your safety striping when you cut it? Thanks! Keep the videos coming, very helpful and informative.

Muito realista Very Nice
Awesome 👍
How long do you let the oil wash dry before weathering further with the streaks?
Excellent Job on the boxcar. So what's the next project of HO scale bulkhead flatcars for a detailing and weathering jobs?

You should do another rolling stock update! Loved those videos bro
Great work! :)

30 hours!? Nice job man 👍
I wanted to know what's the link for those "ghost lettering" decals for the Railbox FMC 50' boxcar, Dan?!
How are you thinning and feathering oil paints with water?
thanks for this, very helpful!
Dan, does the person that you mentioned, Brian have a youtube channel?
perfect thx for guide ;-)
Are you selling or keeping it?, because you said you were selling it in the first part
Nice job, what type of Kadee couplers do you have on them?
Those are KD 119 double shelf couplers only the top shelf and coupler pin is cut.
@@AbelG8781 I am familiar with them and Kadee should make lower shelf couplers
