      Yea but they make like 8 for the competitions going from small to large so imagine finding stones big enough and transporting it and then cutting it down and then sanding it round each one would take a week and would be very hard to make and hard to make consistent weights. Vs this they use the same molds making a consistent stone

      @@char9550 What type of rock would give you the proper weight? For instance, Indiana limestone is very workable and was used to cover most of the buildings in Washington, D.C., (including the Washington and Lincoln Monuments) and many of the skyscrapers in New York due to its white appearance -- cheaper than white marble.

    • @IvSURPSAMICHvI
      @IvSURPSAMICHvI 7 років тому +1

      Commando Master they aren't all the same size they just look very similar because the weight is all evenly distributed throught the stone, so it would be hard to tell that one is bigger unless side by side, and they also add things like metal inside the stones sometimes to make them heavier

    not sure but looks more like a bag of cement. you could save a few bucks when you make concrete, which means cement, sand, gravel and water. Makes the stone more durable and prevents cracks from volume shrinkage because of the water drying out. An ordinary mix in construction would be 309 kg/m3 cement; 654 kg/m3 sand; gravel with a fraction of 4-16 mm 1197 kg/m3 and clean water 200 kg/m3.

    good video. it covers the fundamentals of making stones.
    -however, it's not to ones advantage to use fibers. I've been making stones for a year without them and have produced good stones. save your money!
    -I shake the concrete as the mold fills up in contrast to the end. it helps avoid air pockets.
    -8 pieces of tape is an overkill! use half of that amount.
    - 3 days is also an overkill. I leave my stones in for 24 hours and they come out "a okay."
    there are many other ways to make a stone. adopt the option that best fits you.
    if you have any questions feel free to ask.
    I'm out.
