A lot of you guys asked me for "How To" videos so this is the first one! Others I have planned are how to seatbounce and how to hit a corner. Let me know if you have other motocross things you want me to show you!
ReturnOfDeeO This is a really good how to ! I was just wondering if you have to give a little gas when releasing the clutch, or if it matters to give any gas at all?
I havent rode a dirtbike since i was a little kid in 99-03. This is an amazing tip though i wish i knew this back in the days, keep up the videos Daniel, respect
awesome video Deeo, I will have to give it a go you made it look so easy. BTW I am a little bit envious you get to ride in the snow, It has always been on my bucket list. If you check out some of my riding videos you will see that the average temperature on the gold coast Australia this time of year is about 104.
Liked the video! One question tho, whenever I go into a jump the bike likes to whip out from underneath me, go to the side and its realllll skecthy to land, any way for me to try to prevent that? I do grip the tank with my knees and my legs are always as close to the bike as possible. Thanks ^^
DeniedNetwork I hate when that happens! I would make sure your centered on the bike not leaning to one side or another. pay attention to the lips of the jumps you hit. usually you can see any imperfection that will cause the bike to kick like a small square edge, rocks, ruts, anything uneven.
Kyle Douglass Ye sometimes I can tell it was the jump, but sometimes I can see others hitting it perfect. I have not thought about that and will give it a try! Ty! :>
DeeO do you know how to shift in the air I can't find anyone on how to do it do you have to pull in the clutch to shift in air or just shift without the clutch?
Hey deeo, can you do a how to video on scrubs? I'm a intermediate C mx rider and B class Harescramble racer but haven't learned the art of a descent scrub yet....
ReturnOfDeeO haha ok, I like these videos though, your "how I whip video" thought me to throw it out pretty good almost as good as you were doing, before I didn't use my butt on the seat and kinda just forced the bars, your way was WAY EASIER!
I try to always keep a finger on the clutch! It allows you to regulate the power without letting off the gas and you can grab it if you're about to stall out in a corner. It's a great thing to get used to, riding with a finger on the clutch.
i made the experience that it is easier when you begin with just pulling the clutch in the air without tapping the brake. that way you get a feeling for the timing. also you learn the movement and by repetition it will become automatic. then start tapping the brake when you are confident with pullling the clutch in. thats the safest way to learn it imo. :)
I'm not 100%, but think of when the back axle stops moving, the rest of the bike rotates around the axis. If the front stopped moving, the mass of the bike being lower than the front tire wouldn't rotate as much, I guess. haha
This shouldn't even have to have a video 😂 it's just brake tapping, the idea is pretty simple, hit the rear and or front brakes in the air and land better. Rev the bike or pull in the clutch if you have to, that's it.
Sean, keep in mind not all riders are as good as you. Beginner riders need advice and tips and how to ride. They might not know that you have to hit the clutch when doing a brake tap. There's no reason for you to be rude about it. You could say that about anything. Whipping is simple, just throw the bike sideways, that's it. So don't have such a sour attitude on my future videos, please.
but it is litterally in the name (brake tap) ok so tap the brake ooh but it will shut off ok use the clutch to dis engage the clutch it isnt rocket science
A lot of you guys asked me for "How To" videos so this is the first one! Others I have planned are how to seatbounce and how to hit a corner. Let me know if you have other motocross things you want me to show you!

ReturnOfDeeO hey DeeO, could you do a how to on stoppies?
I don't think you have to, but I always do. That's just how I ride!
ReturnOfDeeO yo can you teach us how to throw massive whips?
I havent rode a dirtbike since i was a little kid in 99-03. This is an amazing tip though i wish i knew this back in the days, keep up the videos Daniel, respect
Thanks a ton Hampus. Really appreciate your kind words.
Those lenses look badass with the snow and everything 😜🤘🏻
I'll usually blip the throttle as I tap the brake to ensure the clutch fully engages and doesn't decide to drag. Good tutorial
Thank you so much for making this! This is really going to help me out when it come time to start riding again! I love it!
So glad I could help bro! Looking forward to riding with you come Spring.

I'd like to see a how-to video of how to be a successful badass like DeeO. ;)
Ha! I'll see what I can do :P
This video was awesome keep doing how to
Thanks a ton Callyo!
Nice instructional video! So what if I come off front tire down? Lean back and give it throttle?
Exactly! Lean back some and do the ol' "Panic Rev" and give it the beans.
Great video, well broken down.
Thanks Deeo really needed to start to try this. You explained it perfectly great vid!
boots are on point bro looking good..🤘👍
Thanks man, love them!
killer boots man!
Heck yeah man I love em.
i like your chest protector does it protect the side ribs?
Not really man. A little bit in the front but it doesn't really wrap around. It's a pretty light protector but that's why I like it!
awesome video Deeo, I will have to give it a go you made it look so easy. BTW I am a little bit envious you get to ride in the snow, It has always been on my bucket list. That's a bit too warm for me, holy cow!
Jalend McCarty did a braketap cartwheel at Adams County SX, I saw it and it was pretty scary to watch.
Liked the video! One question tho, whenever I go into a jump the bike likes to whip out from underneath me, go to the side and its realllll skecthy to land, any way for me to try to prevent that? I do grip the tank with my knees and my legs are always as close to the bike as possible. Thanks ^^

check your rear tire pressure or get new tires
tires are fine, ty tho.
What do you think of the new mx game Chasing the dream that comes out mid 2k17 Daniel ??
I'll believe the hype they're talking when I see it.
DeeO do you know how to shift in the air I can't find anyone on how to do it do you have to pull in the clutch to shift in air or just shift without the clutch?
I never use the clutch to shift, and I shift in the air pretty often!
Ok thank you very much No one else could answer it for me.
Don't even ride but this is interesting. I like it.
2:42 just tapppppp it...just give it a little tappy tap.... :P brownie points if you know what I'm referencing ;)
AHeckman2 - Heckman Productions I was thinking the same thing 😂
Happy Gilmore! Just tap it in....tap tap tap
Cmon happy just taaaaap it in
this was awesome
I'm glad you liked it Ross, thank you!
you can do ruts and starts for how to
I cover the brake even before I take off and I just push, that way I'm assured I won't miss the brake lever
Makes sense!
Also DeeO, if you don't pull in the clutch and the engine stops you start to endo
thanks so much for this video helped a lot
I'm glad! You're welcome!
Good Tutorial bro.
Thank you!
Hey deeo, can you do a how to video on scrubs? I'm a intermediate C mx rider and B class Harescramble racer but haven't learned the art of a descent scrub yet....
I'm not sure I'm good enough at scrubs to do a video on them... haha
ReturnOfDeeO haha ok, I like these videos though, your "how I whip video" thought me to throw it out pretty good almost as good as you were doing, before I didn't use my butt on the seat and kinda just forced the bars, your way was WAY EASIER!
Do you normally jump with a finger on the clutch? Or just grab it when you need it
I try to always keep a finger on the clutch! It allows you to regulate the power without letting off the gas and you can grab it if you're about to stall out in a corner. It's a great thing to get used to, riding with a finger on the clutch.
Would I work if you hit the front brake?
no.

That's a great point Maple! I should have mentioned that.
what happens if you hit the front brake in the air??? i know its a stupid question but im curious.
What's up deeo
Dont u have to give it gas when u release the clutch cuz the back wheel isnt spinning right
yes you give it gas when you are landing because if you dont, there is a possibility that it could throw you side ways when you land.
Learn early guys, this will save you from the worst type of crashes
Keep up the how to's please!!
Will do!
definitely do more great info
Please more how to videos
I'll try!
Is this on a warm winter day at Berthoud?
Ooooh, no. Just notice it is: Aztec. Thanks.
Haha no need to thank me, you got it yourself!
It's awesome
You're awesome, Colton!
you dad knows his stuff
I pull the clut clutch in with 2 fingers so when I do that it pulls in half way will that work?
You should adjust your clutch so you can fully disengage it with two fingers.
Did you get some new Gaerne sg12?
Sure did!
They look nice! Are you sponsored by Gaerne?
I have rider support.
Nice! Gaerne is the best around!
Nice
How to bubba scrub next:)
What goggles are those ? Look sweet👌🏼
Matthew Clark Scott prospects! They're awesome.
Can you do some tutorials for D class riders? Like some stuff you didn't to get better when you were a D class rider.
I never rode D class man, I was always Novice, so I'm not sure what sort of tutorials you'd like!
DO YOU RELEASE THE CLUCH AFTER
I mean yeah. Do you think you’d land while holding the clutch?
Nice boots
Thank you!
you should make a vid of you reading people's comments then commenting back on the vid 👍
do a how to whip boiiii
Art vCsy he already made a video on a how to whip a while ago
Already made it, and it's even linked at the end of this video. And I even talk about it in this video...
New sg12s?
Yep!
i do the same way
do more how to videos
You did well
Thanks, Chris!
DEeo what year is your bike my alzheimer's is really bad today bro its not in the title
hoover9 2012 Kx 450
Aren't you supposed to gas it after though?
That's what I do
You shouldn't land coasting, but that really doesn't have much to do with the brake tap, that's just general jumping.
how to know when to shift
When the brapping is really loud 😉
How to seatbounce
It's such a bad habit not using the clutch 😂 I die Everytime and so does my bike
I read the title to fast and thought it said "how to brap" XD
How to: Get Lots of Poon (w/ DeeO)
I always forget the clutch
i did it once withou clutch , the engine stopped, and i fucking bail with my head on the ground . dude that hurt..
lesson learned .
Ah no good! Hope you were okay since then but like you said, lesson learned!
Step 1: tap break
Break?
ReturnOfDeeO You got me this time😂. Can't wait to watch the next day with deeo!
so to ask my dumbass question, why not use the front brake?
I'm not 100%, but think of when the back axle stops moving, the rest of the bike rotates around the axis. If the front stopped moving, the mass of the bike being lower than the front tire wouldn't rotate as much, I guess. haha

Sean Mcmarr front brake?!? It seems like you really know what you are talking about, hahaha
Sean, keep in mind not all riders are as good as you. Beginner riders need advice and tips and how to ride. They might not know that you have to hit the clutch when doing a brake tap. There's no reason for you to be rude about it. You could say that about anything. Whipping is simple, just throw the bike sideways, that's it. why would anybody need a tutorial on how to brake tap
JaxHD be use people are beginners like me this is really useful
but it is litterally in the name (brake tap) ok so tap the brake ooh but it will shut off ok use the clutch to dis engage the clutch it isnt rocket science
JaxHD it sound like you are quite the pro but it's easier said then done it's better to have someone which experiance teach you or instruct you
JaxHD haha I know right!! it sounds so easy but I've been riding for 6 years and still have trouble with this.
