Ive been riding motocross since 1979 an loving jumping best...but i dont do any back flips or crazy freestyle superman tricks ....i was raised an learned to ride to keep my feet one the pegs...i get blown away my the freestyle pros..an where they are at...i think nuts would be a good logistic description....
I would like to know how to sit or how to stand in a jump and like when is it best to sit and when is it best to stand before take off? And like how to position your body before and in mid air and perhaps when u land, so like break it all down step by step. PLZ :) Make this video and PLZ let me know when :) Kind regards
If on flat ground and you shut down suddenly from accelerating the font suspension will load up--imagine if you are accelerating up the face of a jump, then shut the throttle at the end of the face---those same forces start to work only now you are in the air and so you will pitch down. If you are over accelarating up the face you will tend to loop it out. Keep on the gas, stand tall and be ready to lean forward.FOr me, its easier to correct a high front end in the air. Stay confident and commit
I grew up riding an used triple 125cc champ Marty Smith as my riding role model but back then they really hadnt started jumping jumps it was more like drop offs so jumping i had to learn on my own...u have to learn to work with the long travel fork an shock if u dont it fights u....
i have an issue with either landing wayyy on my back wheel almost about to flip or sometimes bottoming out the front forking and almost going over the handle bars... in desperate need of help
One of the real important things is if u come up short we have a old habit of jumping back torward the rear fender this is the weight move that throw u over the bars...when u come up short want to move to the front of bike get ur weight up to top of the forks the quicker u get forward taking the weight off the rear suspension so it does compress an kick u in the butt an try to throw ur but over ur head...taking all the weight off the rear makes the rear do nothing an keep u in control...all of my friends made this mistake an i did it one last time before i changed to a more confident approach to getting over jumps...keep ur feet even on the foot pegs is real important to fly straight...elbows up so ur throttle does turn on as u leave the ground..dont shut off the gas either steady gas..u do a row watch slow motion over an over pros coming up to jumps is the best way to train ur head...super slow motion is best...really watch the arms an upper body ride safe...
How about how to 'save' a bad landing... example, you're hitting a table top out of a corner and your skill level isn't good enough to rail the corner, so you hit the jump as fast as you can, but end up landing it on the flat and almost getting tossed over the handle bars? I realize that "go faster" is the easy cure, but without the cornering skill, it is also the easy way to wad up. So I'm sure pro's or advanced guys occasionally get stuck in this situation, how do they handle it. I know for me, I have no idea how I make it out of it each time it happens, but my son says he fears for my life every time I try to hit this big quad were we are, because I hit the flat and the last thing he sees is my boots flying like I'm riding a PBR Bull! then I go out of sight behind another jump. But I don't want to count on chance every time I jump and fail the make it to the other side.
Some people say lean forward n some say stay neutral. Which is it? Im always landing far forward on my front wheel and once went over the bars its pissing me off
Jordan01 you have to maintain the same throttle control all the way through the face it may feel as though you are doing that but i guarantee you are letting off the gas a lil too early that will cause you to endo. Hope this helps everyone learns the hard way lol
Stay neutral is better when have frontweellanding. Also when you get the feelin frontweel goes too much down. Give a throttleblib in the air that pulls frontweel up. Also is ok go a little to the rearside with the butt before landing. Manly thats suffcient. Blib is also working good. Watch experienced riders and feel thats you on that fucking bike. Take not to big jumbs. Work yourself slowly to bigger ones. Have fun.
You know, or give me a 60 foot tabletop in the middle of some field, with 100 yards of straight line in front and in back of it, and just let me hit it about 100 times and work myself up. Ive never found a facility that has this.
One problem I have is where to practice. Most practice tracks have a 'beginner' section with 10 foot tables you could do on your little sisters bicycle. Then you go to the next level track and all of a sudden its a 60 footer with a hairpin corner 20 feet before it. Really. I need a set of 4 or 5 table tops in a straight fucking line, each a little bigger than the rest...that would be cool.
Dont grip tight with your hands, hold on with your legs, keep your chin above handel bar ,,,,just rip the throttle ,if you let off the gas to quick, you will face plant/ endo,,
+robhoward35 in the next few weeks I'm gonna go for my first double, should I overshoot it and flat land it before attempting dropping the front? Kinda don't wanna come out high, short & tap that rear break. Does that kinda make sense? Any advise would be helpful.
Carl Colville Hit the back brake. Because the wheel is spinning 'up', when you stop it the upward force gets transferred into the bike, pushing the back end up and the front end down. Of course there are terms for circular motion and forces but I don't know them.
It looks as if there is a corner immediately following this jump. He is going to beclutch in and on the brakes shortly after landing He is already selecting his gear in the air to set up for the corner
do one about standing cornering technique!
Could you do a tip video on braking distance or braking drills to improve later braking and lap times.
Thanks Harry 46#

would you guys recommend going over jumps with a constant steady throttle or what?

If u would maybe make one about how to control the bike in the air.
I have a friend who's sons did freestyle motocross on the huge track in their backyard so that is exactly where i do it, huge table top and more.

do a sand jump tip. like how to deal with all the ruts and stuff

Edward, i would over shoot it to be safe and get the feel ...also check you "sag" a dialed in bike makes jumping doubles safer
I know how you feel lol i ride a 450 and 3rd gear full throttle cant clear some jumps for me :P

try and bend your knees with the bike and absorb the access shock. hope this helps :)

Thanks to Troy Lee
I'm still scared to death to jump 😆
Pretty much useless video / info.
exactly, maybe he can jump but has no idea what he's doing.
how do u put the nose down in mid air

U have to make sure you pull in ur clutch then just tap the back brake. If u don't pull in your clutch your bike will stall and that won't end up good
You dont have to clutch When braking dummie
Yes you do trust me
AweraMusic you do actually or your will land with a dead engien
I never can go high or far even wen I'm going fast
it looks like he shifted down a gear in the middle of jumps... why?
It looks as if there is a corner immediately following this jump. He is going to beclutch in and on the brakes shortly after landing He is already selecting his gear in the air to set up for the corner
+Chris Boettin yes you have to set up long before the corner coms that when your in the corner your set i do that all the time
I Got 99 Problems But My Whip Aint One!
no probs anything for a blink fan
these guys are going like 30mph faster than you then your not getting enough speed if you cant get air
I HAVE MOTO X TODAY

wtf i thought this was travis barker fuck blink 182 for the win
Damb

Completely useless video, and the title is pretty misleading. What step by step? Perfect what? What about body positioning? Waste of time.
These pros are the WORST coaches. The don't actually tell you HOW to do anything...because they do all this stuff automatically...without thinking.
Lame how to......
