This looks so good! Thank you for detailing your recipes with measurements. Recently just married into a lao family and trying to learn as much as I can :)
Wow.. I gotta give it up to you sister. You are an amazing cook. Cooking Lao food is not as easy what most ppl think. There's alot of time, love and patience goes into this. But sure did it.. 👏👏👏
You definitely are a true Laos person! I love every dish you make. To take the time to make & learn to make authentic Laotian food is awesome. Even can speak the language. Your diversity is awesome 🥰
Sigh. You can cook more Lao food than me. It's hard learning from a mom who never tells you exactly how to make things and takes over halfway through because the flavour is just not good enough for her. And now that she's older and can't be bothered to cook all this yummy food, I rarely eat the way I used to growing up lol. Now I have to rely on videos like yours, so thank you! 🙏🤗
It’s tough out there!! I struggle still to learn new recipes. I want them to taste like how the OG Lao ladies cook them! And that’s hard. I noticed that the authentic recipe videos were not in English… and most English videos just didn’t taste like moms. So I’m trying to bridge that gap for English speakers who want old school recipes and taste. And I hope I’m succeeding in that. Thank you for supporting ❤️❤️❤️
Very delicious! I had to buy mine the other day!! Me and my wife love ur show! I’m Lao and she pure white country girl!!! She tells me ur a better cook lol!!! Keep them videos coming!!!!!!
I’m so glad you guys are following along with my show. It’s been a lot of fun sharing these recipes. I grew up in Kentucky so I’m a little country too.
Wow! I'm super excited about this video! A few months back I was looking pretty hard for a good thai sausage video and I could not find a good one and although this is lao it's still super similar. Thank you for this!
Recipe looks and sounds great, one bit of advice (I make a lot of sausage) invest in a separate sausage stuffer, it will save you time and wear and tear on your grinder.
I just came across you're videos, I do have a question. How did you learned how to make so many Lao dishes? I do enjoy watching your content's. I am married to a Caucasian woman for Over 16 years now, she can't cook nothing Laos. I cook all the food for us. Our son love's it. Anyway I just wanted to know Thank you.
Hello! Welcome to my channel! I really enjoy cooking so I’ve sought out opportunities to learn from family, friends, online, etc. I make something until I get it right. And call my mother in law if I need help. I can usually explain how it tastes over the phone and she knows what’s missing haha.
You can use a plastic water bottle to stuff sausage. Just cut it in half, place the casing on the opening you’d drink from, then push the meat through the other side. Hope this helps.
All ingredients n measurements are located in the description box below the video. :) Step by step instruction is located within the video to protect my content.
I don't know how I end up here but I sure am glad! I know it's gonna be good just by looking at the list of ingredients. Everything is easily available in my country except for padeak. How different is it from fish sauce? Are there any substitutes for it?
This is a great question. Fermentation can enhance the flavor and is safe if done properly. I, however, do not ferment as it adds a lot of time to the process. I usually make sausage in bulk once a year with family and friends. We aim to complete the process in a single day.
My sausage doesn’t split during cooking. Perhaps those that do split are overstuffed. I’d recommend poking holes in the casing with a toothpick before cooking. This should allow some of the pressure to release. Hope this helps.

Congrats on your marriage!! I am so happy for you. Thanks for watching.
I applaud you because this takes patience, which I don't have. You are on it with these fire ass recipes. Keep the videos coming cuz I'm all for it!
You’re so sweet 🙏🙏🙏 Thank you!!

Absolutely amazing! I made a Thai version (Sai Ua) without casings last year bc I couldn’t find any… I gotta try your version as well!!
Casing can be hard to find here too. My husband picked it up from a local farmer. I like patties just so much!

You could use fish sauce instead. Another option is anchovy sauce.
So glad you’re here!!
The result was a tasty authentic lao sausage! 👅
Thanks babe!!
Yummmm

Oh my name is Wes.
Nice to meet you, Wes!

BTW, I'm just curious where did you buy your sausage or meat grinding machine at??
We got it from Cabelas
I have one question, how about 48 hours fermentation?not need to fermentation?
This is a great question. Fermentation can enhance the flavor and is safe if done properly. I, however, do not ferment as it adds a lot of time to the process. I usually make sausage in bulk once a year with family and friends. We aim to complete the process in a single day.
@@CookingWithKhonKhao last weekend I try to do sai krok isaan and give fermented 48 hours, and I wonder so tasty it becomes after fermentation!
Is it similar to som moo?@@AVO3331
@@CookingWithKhonKhao no it's similar sai oua. Inside have garlic,rice,soya souse,oyster souse,fish souse,

How do you keep the sausage casing from blowing up while cooking it?
My sausage doesn’t split during cooking. Perhaps those that do split are overstuffed. I’d recommend poking holes in the casing with a toothpick before cooking. This should allow some of the pressure to release. Hope this helps.

I need to make more sausage! I want to do one with dill.
@@CookingWithKhonKhao what about Black rice instead of Jasmine 😍
@@BastenVal I’ve not tried that! Thanks for the suggestion
Hmong sausage hit wayyyy better in my opinion
I notice many Hmong sausage have lime juice and ginger which sounds really good.
