Great video. What happened to the brakes in the end, did they just need a good clean ?

SWAMPY: Hi Simon! Thanks so much for watching! We didn't record too much of the driving around the car park that was required to sort the brakes... but it took about an hour of driving up and down and braking and they came up "ok" and were working well. The drive to the MOT in the morning then did plenty to clean then up enough to pass the MOT and a subsequent blast up the motorway to deliver the car resulted in them looking almost new :)

SWAMPY: Hi Steve! Thanks very much for taking the time to watch :) Oddly the handbrake said it was off at that point.. but then a bit of fiddling and activating it and deactivating it with the brakes applied seemed to release it. Lucky really or it would have needed dismantling!

Great work. How long will it take to sort that glow plug?

SWAMPY: Hi Alan, thank you so much for watching and your question. Not sure if this will be something we will take on. Might be easier to get a known professional service to do this to guarantee a result. They cost about £150. Tools to do this ourselves cost about the same all in...

@@DoubleDuckGarage if you do it yourself, you get the tool for free? That's the approach I usually take to a repair, if I can do it for the same as or less than a garage with buying the tools, I'll do the job. Got a nice set of tools now accumulated over decades. Hope my restore of my mgf goes as well, been laid up in the driveway for 8 years. Actually, hang on, no, it was when Bon Jovi played Edinburgh. Hmmm, er... June 2011.

SWAMPY: We appreciate you tuning in! This is very true and the way we usually work when doing this sort of thing. In this case the car currently works, and there is no guarantee that we will get the correct tool first off. Looking at the prices they START at about the job price and just escalate up. Plus... got a few other projects on the go so best to offload to a third party and try and keep some focus :) let us know how you are getting on with your MG too! Have you done a broken glow plug removal before?

@@DoubleDuckGarage yeah I guess getting that glowplug out is a job with a high risk of subsequent problems. MGF has a new head gasket, timing belts to do then it's reassembly time. Then I can see what else needs fixed, expect it's going to be a long list. Looking forward to hearing about the doubleduck new projects!

SWAMPY: Sounds like you have a project and a half on your hands there! We do have a good few projects on our hands at the moment which should all end up in video soon (despite trying to do less!). What is your dream project if you had unlimited time and money?
