This kind of video is why I love UA-cam. Toronto 2011 Wow! I can remember when that wasn't that long ago. Now it's been over a decade. Time never stops. This is a beautiful record of history.
Saw them locally in Halifax for under $30 a ticket. My fiancée was blown away as was I. The entire band is amazing. I've spent $100 or more on acts that didn't connect like these guys. Was a really memorable experience a few mths ago.
At this point I think I might have 500 of the 530 views. Can't stop watching this video and have become an instant Bahamas fan as a result. GREAT WORK.
Just saw them live yesterday at Vancouver! Hockey teeth refers to when one time she wanted to kiss him but his teeth came in contact with hers. It hurts. Thumbs up so people can see!
this video really catches the vibe of their style of music- heaps chill, just relaxing- and they are just chillin in their living room playing some music :) LOVE
I saw him live last night and he explained what this song is about. He said he was with this girl and when they'd kiss they knock each others teeth during the kiss. He explained it better than I just did but it was really sweet.
Fantastic,Deserves a million more views than it already has, I gonna recommend this to so many people on my channel,Hopefully they will enjoy it as much as i have
Actually I heard him on CBC Radio a while ago talking about his music, and the host asked him what 'hockey teeth' meant. He said it's when you have a big gap between your two front teeth.
when he came to australia and played live , he explained that hockey teeth was when him and his girlfriend's teeth would hit together when they where kissing
THANK YOU. Sigh, I've been combing the comments section, and now I've finally arrived at an answer posted 6 years ago. Hope you're well wherever you are.
Nope, I barely ever use the shotgun mic on my camera, its more of a backup. Lav mic under every singers shirt, mics on the guitar amps, and a zoom h4n somewhere in the room capturing a stereo room signal.
Close, I saw Bahamas live and he explained beforehand that he wrote this song about a gir he used to kiss and there teeth banged together sometimes when they kissed, so, hockey teeth
Good guess but not quite :) Having hockey teeth means she can take life's knocks and at a concert he said this song was about "a beautiful kiss gone all wrong" Canadians guys can be a bit rough :P
Nah, he means when him and his old girlfriend used to kiss, they'ed hit their teeth together :) I saw him support Dallas Green (City and Colour) last night. Best freakin' show ever!
Hockey Teeth is about a relationship that Afie had. His girlfriend had buck teeth, so he lovingly called her "hockey teeth" this song is about that relationship and that time in his life.

Possibly the greatest music video ever made. Every time, every time 👏👏👏👏👏😎
10 years on! And still magnificent!!
This version is the best, I come back to UA-cam just for this one every once in a while. Cheers!

Not only does it sound great, but the lyrics are fantastic as well.
I love Southern Souls, Mitch, you're amazing. Thanks for bringing this music to us in this form. Bahamas are lovely and so is this song and video.

Just beautiful ❤️
Great song and video guys
he explains it when he plays live, it refers to that moment when you go in for a kiss and bump teeth :)
@Wongelaa That's Jason Tait from The Weakerthans! Another great band!
Dang, what a jam!
This video is unreal.
Actually I heard him on CBC Radio a while ago talking about his music, and the host asked him what 'hockey teeth' meant. He said it's when you have a big gap between your two front teeth.
I would kill to be in that apartment while this was happening
plot twist, its a house
So beautiful, guys and gals. Kudos! 🥹
What a beautiful video.
nice 'pink strat' dude!
from what he's said at concerts, its about hitting teeth together when kissing. :)
Someone told me this song is about a toothless woman giving a man a gum job and my nostalgia is tainted.
strat just cruisin' with this guy...
take it for a spin ;)
So good
I saw him in Brisbane recently opening for City and Colour, he said the song was about trying to kiss a girl and knocking his teeth on hers.
A thing of incredible beauty 🙏🙏🙏🙏
amazing.
Oh !! I just love it is awesome.
This song is fucking awesome! The girl i am getting over does not have hockey teeth but i still relate to it to some degree (in a past tense sadly)
that beat though
Does anyone have any info on the background singers? Would love to know if they have bands themselves or do any other projects.

unglaublich gut
Totally love this song. But what in the world do Hockey Teeth look like? And I'd so marry the beautiful girl in the chair on the left.
Shannon Spencer when you have a gap in your teeth, usually the front two like they were knocked out from hockey
i love this. What kind of genre is this? folk blues? :)
How did you record the audio? I don´t see any mic´s...? Was it pre recorded?
They could be using a road mic on the camera to pick it up, but that's still incredible the lack of ambience.
Nope, I barely ever use the shotgun mic on my camera, its more of a backup. Lav mic under every singers shirt, mics on the guitar amps, and a zoom h4n somewhere in the room capturing a stereo room signal.
hidden mics -respect
pre recorded audio is minus respect to me haha cheers
they are clip mics. He uses them in all his videos.
Hey you were awesome last night in Auckland, New Zealand. Gutted you paid $13 for a beer!
Does anyone know the names of those two female vocalists?
Freakin' Beautiful. : )
Loved em in atlanta!
hes just as good live!
Close, I saw Bahamas live and he explained beforehand that he wrote this song about a gir he used to kiss and there teeth banged together sometimes when they kissed, so, hockey teeth

Woooow!!! :)))
Hockey Teeth is about a relationship that Afie had. His girlfriend had buck teeth, so he lovingly called her "hockey teeth" this song is about that relationship and that time in his life.
Les is more...yah !
He also said it was about a real relationship (which sadly didn't work out). :(
