9 years later and this is still one of my favourite videos on the internet to this day
Mine too (: cried when i saw it the first time 11 years ago and still remember
11 years later and this still hits different :,)
11 years now 💜
Samezies ❤
12 years later now, so good
Omg I'm that little girl with the curly hair!! I remember that day!!
that's amazing! nearly 7 years ago.
No way, really?! That's awesome :D
🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
Tu penses toujours que c'est "toujours la même chose"? haha
Thats pretty awesome. Did you know what was about to happen or was this just some random shopping trip?
Listening to this some 13 years later had me bawling. This recording is a gem.
I can't believe this is 12 years old & it's the first time I seen this!!! One of my fave songs by them, next to Airplanes....
My brother's next door neighbor was a cousin to a member of the band & gave him a CD of their music, before they got popular, he didn't play it & she would asked more than once, if he listened to it, he just assumed, they were some local, no talent band. Finally, he listened to it & was so glad he did!! He recommended them to me, but I was already hip to them....
I dig their voices, their drumming, their uniqueness-They sound like no other....
I still find myself coming back to this video every so often as the years go by... The feeling it invokes in me each time is just like the first time... So indescribably beautiful.
Probably the best band I’ve ever heard live. The way their vocals go together is beautiful.
Thousand times better than the recorded version.
From 2011 to 2019, I have watched this video many, many times. It has brought me joy in the good times and in a tear in the bad times.
very happy to know that i'm not the only one who does this :')
It’s my favorite video on UA-cam. I love these guys so much.
This is a special video and also a special comment here.
Glad I’m not alone bc same
This song really moved me in my formative years.
man ive heard this song countless times, but this video straight up made me cry. These dude have such powerful melodies. Its so much emotion.
This song took me a thousand years to find!!!! At last my happiness is complete!!
My girlfriend and I share music, she shared this band. And believe it or not that is one of the main reasons I love her. She understands something is huge in my heart, music. The Local Natives, know how to play real music.
Where can i find a girl friend like yours
damn i'm lonely
they're probably broken up.
Believe it or not that's what I look for in a guy to feel the same lyrics like I do
My ex gf and I shared music, now I listen to it with tears in my eyes but extremely happy for all the love we shared. I sincerely hope that you feel the same way I did for 8 happy years
When the second drummer picks up it all just comes together which then causes me to have a complete and utter mind exploding eargasm.
I will never get tired of watching this... I feel shivers evrey time! Local Natives is so talented.. and the «A take away show» concept is just awesome... LOVE LOVE LOVE
Vocals are top shelf The introduction of each musical layer is genius Deep and thought provoking songwriting just brings it all together A true diamond in the rough I love it Thank you for sharing
I love the way that girl lights up when they first pass her by.
This is how music should be experienced: you can't ignore it, but it doesn't get in the way. It's just there for a moment, and if you are so inclined to take a listen, you get everything you want out of it.
My son showed me this video, im 48.
You guys are awesome, a perfect blend of talent, the tenor has the timing of Frank Sinatra . Made me want to sing again.
Didnt work out as planned.
This version is better than the studio version.
To build on the other comments here - La Blogothèque you have introduced me to so many great bands, and have shown me my favorite bands in a wonderful new light. There are not enough thanks in the world, please never stop!
Seriously! I feel the same way
I keep coming back to this video. It's just so beautiful.. watching these guys play with the acoustic of the plaza must have been a wonderful experience.
This gave me shivers. SHIVERS, I TELLYA!
That little girl was just exposed to what great music sounds like and she will never forget it.
Drummer not wearing hat has the lungs of a sweet sweet angel.
I thought you're profile photo was a hair on my monitor
@@zanedeso336 Same here
His name is Kelcey Ayer. :)
They all do.
I think i've listened to this song a thousand times. la blogotheque is amazing..... they bring "take away shows" to my small town and put sweet melodies from bands like this into the ears of small town country folk. thanks
Best version of this song
The acoustics in those hallways are amazing
I think that this just might be my favourite performance...ever.
I’m in love with this. I came across La Blogothèque by chance YEARS ago on a channel called Current TV and have been obsessed ever since. I’ve discovered so many of my favorite bands and artists from them and I still can’t get enough. Specifically Local Natives and this song. Beautiful.
Did I purchase tickets to Arcade Fire and the National just to see Local Natives? Hell yes I did and I'll always spend all the money when it comes to them.
+Iris Binuya well if it's for seeing the National too I would gladly do it too hah
I bet it was worth it!!! Watch an amazing local natives set, nap through the national, and then see arcade fire who are incredible live.
I love Local Natives, but this video took me by surprise. I have easily watched it 50 times tonight, trying to sort out all the sounds that i'm hearing. I can honestly say this is one of the best videos and performances i've ever seen. I'm just an awe, and will always remain in awe of this.
Cannot wait to hear them live in an intimate type of venue. Great artists
I love how this just shows that every instrument, every member of the band, plays an integral part to the song. Everything just layers together to make it complete. Without each member doing their part, it just wouldn't sound the same.
Gotta be one of the most beautiful videos on all of UA-cam
This is sooooo beautiful. @2:53 she was so mesmerized by the sheer beauty of the angelic sounds that are being played.
I still remember seeing this and falling in love instantly with this band. And to this day, this video still gives me chills.
I keep coming back to this video. This is my most favorite Take Away Show.
I love that they have to hold Kelcey back in the beginning lol
This may be the best takeaway show I've ever seen.
gave me the biggest smile knowing that everybody was watching and taking pictures
There's nothing else like this. It's one of the most incredible things I've ever seen in my entire life. I would kill to be at that place at that time.If you're seeing this for the first time, let me tell you, this is MUSIC, pure fucking music. And if you don't appreciate it, fuck off.
Man this song is so good. Tears, man, so many tears.
4 years later, this is still my favourite video of all time.
I've been going down
Down into the river baby
Listen to the sound
It's something only god knows
You figure it out, I can't stay
Water's in the clouds
Is my life about to change?
Who knows, who cares
So we took a van down to colorado
Where we ran into the dead
I took you by the hand
Know that even with your doubts, it's ok
Take into account that it's not about to change
Who knows, who cares
You could let it down
Jump into the river baby
Easy as it sounds
It's never quite as easily done
The current has us now, it's ok
Take into account that it's all about to change
Who knows, who cares
No one's been there
But I don't care
I know all have been there
I don't care
I know
It's so beautiful how they can just share a moment with other people in casualness and just play music for people to enjoy. It's just about enjoying the moment, it's so beautiful
i’m incredibly saddened to hear kelsey will be leaving local natives, he brought so much depth to local natives and made it part of what i loved the most about this band, the high pitch parts, i grew up with these guys and they helped me through so many troubling times in high school, i remember trying to match kelsey and his high pitched parts, i loved his song coins, i will incredibly miss you being a part of the band kelsey, im crying as i write this cause god they are what gave me my love for music ❤
I watched this video for the first time, 4 years ago & it is still my all time favorite video & band, and it forever will be. I love you Local Natives, thank you for creating such beautiful music
this is what youtube was supposed to be
the build in this version of the song is so amazing.. i love how it starts from scratch and then at the end its just on blast. completely changed up their own song. god damn this is so good
i had an audio rip of this on my ipod when i was in high school and i always hated listening to the beginning of it where they're all just shooting the shit and laughing it bothered me so much i thought they were probably assholes. now i see it and the annoying audio paired with the visual after these years is such a weird experience.
music. the way it was always supposed to be. no additives. so good for the soul.
seen this video like 500 times now, still not getting bored
Chalie Day on the drums has some pipes
I literally listen to this every single day.
this made me cry! damn it!!! so good!
this will never be old. It's because of this I fell in love with Local Natives!
Love this forever
Saw them in DC.
Best live band I've ever seen.
@local natives I shared this song with my best friend back in 2011 and she fell in love with it, then in 2014 she shared this with her husband, she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016 after her first born son, she passed in late 2017. This song will forever be a staple in my heart and I now play this for her memory. ❤️❤️❤️
I've never heard of these guys. Now I want all their songs. This is real music :-)
this song sounds much better played slower like how it is in the video
...It's faster in the video...
isitunez No it's not, it's way slower. Most parts are drawn out an extra measure.
I properly checked (as my comment was a result of hazy comparison) the video again.
Sorry! I got my 4th and 8th note 'placements' wrong.
Because of the way I interpret the 'feel' of the songs I interpret this song to be 'faster' in rhythm even though factually it is indeed, slower. My apologies!
isitunez apology not accepted
*Sniff sniff*
the vocal melody is stuck in my head all day long...
One of the most beautiful things I ever heard.
Under the opressive public figure of Super Mario, Luigi developed a beautiful lyrical style.
This is one of my top UA-cam videos of all time.
1:32
a random mall with good acoustics should be a required stage piece for all future shows
Good music is good. This is what music SHOULD be about. FEELINGS!
Repeat, repeat, repeat. Totally agree with the other guys, the same people watch this over and over like myself. Oh well at least we can enjoy it as much a we want.
i'm so so so greatful that a take away shows exists!
THIS JUST MAKES ME WANT TO CRY!! I saw them do this in my hometown and they were by far, one of the best bands I have seen live.
I've watched this video so many times and I always come back for some reason
My heart just about burst when they performed this version at Kool Haus in Toronto on Saturday. This was my first introduction to Local Natives and to hear and feel it the other day was incredible!
i would have given anything to get to stand there and experience that! absolutely beautiful
i don't know how i found this but my gosh i am beyond happy i did....wow i am totally amazed...
This is a great song, but Charlie should lay off the drums and stick to the keys. "Day Man" was a masterpiece.
"Night man" was really good too, people seem to forget about it sometimes
Dylan Salter 😂😂😂😂
this comment ruined my life
Dylan Salter yo man, this might sound weird, but are you a redhead?
whatwhatwhat?Q! Yeah haha
This is seriously my favorite. I would watch this over and over. This is what real music is. I love it. I simply love it.
Best harmonies in the world in this song
Their sound is awesome and their faces are bewhiskered.
their music is perfection. their harmonies are perfection. and i will never get tired of it..
CHARLIE ON DRUM/VOCALS?!!???
You Found Carl he sounds much better than in dayman. he must be practicing.
kjjm
Not sure how many times I've watched this over the last couple years...
this is easily one of my favorite break up songs and performances ever
First time I’ve seen this in awhile and I still get chills just as I did when I first viewed this video when it was originally uploaded..... wow 7 yrs ago.....Time flies.
I want to live in Paris so that I can randomly come across such awesomeness on the street. I LOVE this.
Sweet Moses, Local Natives. Love me forever.
I love all of these take away shows, makes me wanna pick up my guitar, find some fellow musicians, and walk the streets and just play.
I've never heard Local Natives sound this amazing. Such a spectacularly filmed set, I've come back and watched this video like 100 times over the years. I loved LN's first album, but they've gotten away from THIS...
I haven't watched this video in ages and looking back at it again today it made me cry, I forgot how beautiful it is.
saw them live last month, sounded just as wonderful then.
I always love coming back to this video.
Over 8 years ago and I still come back to watch this video I remember the day it was posted and It still gives me chills.
at 2:54 that girl's smile is priceless! such a cute moment they share.
Undoubtedly one of the greatest audio experiences of my life.
why this one (Takeawayshow) is crazy good is because of the huge reverb you have in these halls, man the drums sounds just amazing love these guys. I wished I was there when they did this sigh.
I'm JUST now learning about this band for the first time today and the only ? I can ponder is all the times this music and I cld have shared by now
this is the most amazing song ever. i think ive heard this song 7 thousand times and i still cant stop listening
Finally found this video again. It’s burned in my memory. Something about it is just so unique to me
fallen even more in love with Local Natives now.
Paris, I'm pretty sure. Such an amazing song!
I've always wondered what it would be like to see one of these performances live. It looks magical.
