If you've heard this song once, it's impossible not to come back.
+bigbadgerz apperntly once was enough
+Hudson McCabe They won't have seen your reply...
THANK YOUUUU
so true
That's the truth... something addictive about this..like all great music I guess
This song makes me feel the kind of nostalgia for stuff I haven’t experienced yet
Strange thing, but I totally get that.
Me to
Right?!?!
Saudade
You put it eloquently.
If music was a place, this is where I want to be.
The bahamas
thats the name of the band (check them out, this is just the tip of the iceberg)
The Bahamas is a place-
@@cane226 it's a country comprised of 700 islands.
Music is a place.
I felt that. 😍 it's where I'd want to be too.
I played this song on repeat as I laboured, waiting for my little girl to be born. Still can't listen to this song without weeping, reminiscing over the anticipation of meeting our baby and holding her for the first time. This song will always have a special place in my heart.
Wow!
This song feels cold and warm at the same time
Just like life
I rarely use the overused word, but this man is a musical genius. I’m a 40 year, 71 yr old songwriter and this man inspires something in me, only few have ever .
Can’t believe it’s 2022 and I just heard this for the first time. Fully obsessed, on repeat, added to playlist.
Its never too late!
@kaylajeanne07 marry me!
@@iparamr that escalated quickly
I am now taking your place in this process
“Before we were lovers, I swear we were friends”…
What a perfect album.
Absolutely shame how that goes away
This is such a great song.
It shuffled on my iPod while on a drive to to beach, and as cheesy as it sounds, it was just an amazing experience with the slow rhythm and the wind on my face and just wow
I wish I had that experience. Maybe I will soon : )
I have these moments too, and its like it freezes time or a a specific memory .. Its like a treat of life or something :)
Not cheesy at all, Darby. Just one of life's little special moments for you. We all need them. Sometimes the smallest moments create the biggest memories. : )
Not cheesy at all. You were just using music for what it's for!
That's exactly how I found this song.. jukebox in a bar in Newport Beach, California dancing with a stranger on the shore. I never saw her again but like this song will never forget this dance.
I have just discovered this through a random Spotify recommendation. Absolutely outstanding composition and lyrics. Love the harmonies. This is a beautiful song.
He's from my home town. She him twice when he came back. Its just so touching i never not just hold my chest and sign cry this song.
Same. Love it.
To me, it was like hearing an unknown, slightly more optimistic than normal, Bill Callahan.
If you don't know the man yet, try "Frees" or Drover for a start, or Rock Bottom if yer in a more sombre mood
Back vocals are pure angels
I was watching TV and this song played in the McDonald's ads and let me tell you something :
It’s a very good choice of song
Same
Me too 😂😭 (btw armyyy😊💜)
This song is too good to be associated in any way whatsoever with greasy low quality corporate burgers and fries.
Maybe the Canadian artist needs the money.
It took my 7 years to find this song, and I didnt even know I will need it so much in my life.
For me 11 ... it was worth it! ;)
I listened to this song everyday when I went and visited my dad in a coma prayed over him .. by some miracle he made it out of the coma this song has literally got me through my hardest times in my life
That’s a beautiful share
I understand this. I also have a coma song in regards to my brother
@@brjm1604bless your heart
A song for every moment in every relationship where you've f***ed up and wished you hadn't. Heartbreakingly great song !!!
yes!!!!!
Just randomly came across this song and I'm now crying.
PreacherC when I heard this too I had tears coming down
I've been there. Beauty in small, sad doses.
Yes.
Yah...its wonderful isn't it
👍Tears can wash the eyes 💞
what is it about a perfect song? His voice, words, the girls in the backround singing....cant stop
holy smokes. the backup singer standing in the middle is the new love of my life
Saw Bahamas for the second time Saturday night. I am old dude don't listen to much music totally jaded I'll admit it. This song makes me cry - best song I have heard in at least 20 years. This guy is simply amazing not sure how you get to be a big artist in this day and age but trust me Afie will be huge.
When I listen to this song, I imagine myself and the love of my life dancing under the starry night sky. Lovely song!
And he'll be one lucky man, Catinka. :)
Can you give me my dream back?
Girl I’m gonna do this at night on the beach soon
But the lyrics is devastating
Love the song and this share of your idea of dancing under the stars listening to this song with the love of your life. The love of my life was with me for 41 years and has now been gone for 14 years. 😢 Thanks to you and Bahamas for helping me stir up my beautiful memories! 😊
I brought myself in here on my own musical discovery.
I'm so glad I did
Thank you Shazam, 10 years after this was first released I have discovered this amazing song, whilst in a coffee shop, this will stay with me forever
This is probably the most relaxing song ever, I could have it on reply all day long. SOO good, honestly everything about this song is perfection.
I'm lost in the light
I pray for the night
To take me, to take you too
After so many words
Still nothing's heard
Don't know what we should do
So if someone can see me now, let them see you
It was my greatest thrill
But we just stood still
You let me hold your hand 'til I had my fill
Even countin' sheep
Don't help me sleep
I just toss and turn right there beside you
So if someone could help me now, they'd help you too.
They'd help you too
See you through
All the hard things we've all gotta do
Cause this life is long
And so you wouldn't be wrong
Bein' free leavin' me on my own!
And I held my own
Still I rattled your bones
I said some awful things and I take them back
If we would try again
Just remember when
Before we were lovers, I swear we were friends
So if someone could see me now let them see you
Let them see you
See you through
All the hard things we've both gotta do
Cause this life is long
So you wouldn't be wrong
Bein' free here with me on my own!
Bahamas - Lost In The Light Lyrics
Daniel bell thank you 🤗
Daniel bell thanks so much beautiful gift 🎁
Thank you so much
I scrolled too much for this!
Thank youtube guy with lyrics.
Merci pour les paroles 💕
So many feelings with this song. Spectacular. Somehow every time this song comes along, it’s exactly what I need to hear in that moment in life.
His voice feels like swimming in a river of silky gold... soft, sweet, pure ecstasy.
The originals episode" I love you, goodbye" brought me here. Great song and great episode!
I lost my best friend and roommate of 25 years. I have this song on repeat. So many emotions. My friend and I had each other and we didn't really have anyone else. Now he's gone and I'm alone. This song is helping me in ways that I don't understand. Thank you Bahamas.
This is possibly the most devastating song I've ever heard
Terrill you ought to also give Josh Ritter’s song “Lights” a listen.
Oh, there are far more devastating songs!
This song helped me through a rough time. Must have listened 500 times.
One of the most beautiful tunes I've ever heard
My dope taste in music brought me here.
Drugs is a bad thing
WarthDader74 what is drugs?
drugs are bad mmm'kay
Matthew Scarberry As an example; Marihuana, Heroin, Speed, LSD, Meth, Cocain. Those are typical drugs.
Seriously people , let this guy get his joy from the music and try to jilt the other!
I'm lost for words..... why doesn't this have more views... who would dislike this??????? Where was this music hiding from me!!?!!?!
This might be one of the greatest tunes of all time.
Just came across this song and this is my new favorite 🥹 it’s so comforting after such a horrible breakup and my cat passing away unexpectedly. Vibing in my room with a pink and purple lights with me cats 💜🌸💜🌸
Had to find this song from the commercial for “Canada Life” insurance. Love it . Hope he’s getting the big bucks!
When I first heard this song I was so awestruck/baffled.
This is the ending to my last relationship to the T. Unreal.
Thank you Bahamas for your poetry and experience ❤ straight to my heart strings
The guitar play in this is so soulful and beautiful, I can feel the emotion through those luscious waves of euphoric sound...taking me away
u weird dawg
filipsrtx and you're trying to be gangsta on UA-cam...oh the hypocrisy
Snakebloke filipsrtx
Just chill with the music and be tolerant. It's good for your spirit.
will morris i agree with you but my tolerance has it's limits...like any mentally healthy person :)
Snakebloke Tolerance limit: one UA-cam comment.
"If we would try again
Just remember when
Before we were lovers
I swear we were friends."
WOW!
so many emotions listening to this song. can only say sorry. wish things were like the beginning. .
There is a handful of songs in this world that just speak to your soul, this is one. I heard it in the movie Very Good Girls I believe. This song is wonderful.☺️ Thank you. 💕
my mom passed and she used to listen to this song and my grandpa played it for me😖
It's a Shame the Bahamas aren't big yet. The talent and potential is without a doubt there. Hope that he gets the credit he deserves
Couldn't agree more
It's a shame that a lot of music artists aren't big yet. Hey, wanna' suggest each other some? I'd search 'LeeDewyze', he's not a rapper by the way.
Def not a shame. Bahamas are right where they need to be. I love bands less when they get 'big'.
@@AqibA.C. listen to some car seat headrest ....they are pretty good
I saw the band open for Jack Johnson and loved how he handled the guitar and how he would dance to stroke of his guitar.
I needed this, Thank you!!!
As a selfish human, I'd be okay if they didn't become popular. As a realist, I can see Bahamas becoming popular.
Exactly! You have just one a piece of the internet.
***** Thank you sir, I've always wanted a slice.
***** I'm sorry, he.
W.A. Kinnan "As a selfish human, I'd be okay if they didn't become popular." dumbest shit I've ever read.
99superjesus Appreciate it, I do say some dumb shit, thanks for calling me on it.
This song speaks to my soul 😍

This song is a pure gift to those who’ve lost love. It catalysed an outpouring of buried emotions in me. The words of my soul right now. Truly beautiful.
il a fallut attendre qu'une agence de pub Française utilise en l'an 2020 cette chanson en bande sonde cette superbe music qui date de 2012 pour que je la découvre ! Merde alors ! quel temps de perdu !
I love this song so much. It's the story of my broken heart...over the only woman I've ever loved.
I was stuck on "All the time" another song by them, but now this is my favorite.
exact same.!
Man alive I can't even describe how much I love this song, it gives me the feels like no other...
I really enjoy this song and Afie in particular. He is bringing a fresh breath of air to the stagnant cycle of folk/classic North American sounding music.
Also the girls in this video sang very well, I thought the outfits on everyone was a classy touch.
The dude's name is Alfie? Nice.
I am so proud to call you a local ! FINALLY ! Someone with real talent from around here !!!!!! Koodoos to you man! I listen to you everyday !
Frankie and Grace the tv show brought me here! S3:E:12 " The Musical " .. thank you!
Yes it did for me too. I love this song, it feels good.
I've been watching the whole series for the first time. I *have* to go searching for the music after most episodes. This show has such depth, and it resonates long after the script ends... 🎧📻🎼📺❤️
I love that little shake he does at 1:54 - its on my list of warm things like hazelnut coffee and fresh-out-of-the-laundry-socks. The overall tenderness of this song is so attractive; at 3:18, that face is a portrait of all the unbearable lightness of leaving and being left behind, a stare going far deeper than the previous shot of the eternal cosmic space. Oh this is so very nice, and so very tender.
The film "Very Good Girls" brought me here
Its a shame this song is so popular and all of their other work doesn't get recognition.
This song is phenomenal, which shows you how good their other stuff must be.
This song brings back memories I’ve never even had
i cannot stop listening to this song!
An extraordinary effort by an artist I have increasingly admired. Another unique Canadian musician who I believe is going places. Visually so simple, elegant and yet an incredibly moving work of music.
This song is helping me get through my father's sickness and eventual death. Very sad and beautiful.
Keep your head up and I wish you all the best
I can’t pick out one thing specifically I love about this song. It’s just great.
Me too!
I was hooked the first time I heard The Bahamas...
Few years back.
Love love their music!!!
Sorta reminds me of Leon Russell a bit.
Grace and Frankie brought me here and I am very thankful for that.
love love love this song!
(first heard it while watching "Very Good Girls" movie, 2013).
One of the best soundtracks in a long while.
me too
I was lucky to see him live here in edmonton yesterday :) He opened with this song!
+Richard Stone I saw him open for City and Colour a couple months ago, very good!
Hes coming back soon!
Found this song thru an Amy Schumer movie on Hulu. It was the closing song for an episode. Because I didn’t hear it all, I searched on UA-cam.
It was his sweet voice, the pace of the music, the languid guitar that drew me in. Beautiful!
I forgot this song existed. I used to listen to it on these long walks I would go on before I left NH for college in FL. Now I'm still in FL. I'm not exactly in love with either state but I definitely took NH for granted. The life I had there for granted. I didn't realize that till my last night. Now that house is sold and I long for those walks again.
I keep coming back to this song... it's just so damn beautiful!
Heard this for the first time when Bahamas' supported the lumineers - instant love for the song
Why is this song so addictive? Is it the calm of waves gently rolling on the beach, the sound of angels, the slow, steady beat of my heart, the timeless, soulful sound? Then there's the actual lyrics. Wow.
The most beautiful sound I have ever heard!
I am IN LOVE with this song. Still, all these years later. It's beautiful.
this was the first song my husband and i danced to at our wedding, great memories
Absolutely love this song... Can't get enough of it... Also brings back a lot of memories !!
I want to cry every time I hear this song just so beautiful. Keep up the amazing work and take the world by surprise. Don't hold back.
Loving the 70's theme version of the backup singers
Sometimes you need to rest your soul somewhere, this song is my souls refuge
found bahamas today. dont even remember how but have been listening to them literally all day and they are quickly becoming a top favorite easily. absolutely beautiful music
Beautiful sunny day, windows down, going 65, blasting this song. truly amazing.
I heard this song for the first time while watching Frankie and Grace. It's now consistently on repeat. It relaxes me.
I'm Diggin This Song On A Spiritual Level ... Peace People ...
I remember being lucky enough to see this guy with a crowd of 15 people 4 years ago as an opening act on Easter night. You could tell there was something special about the guy.
HOW CAN THIS NOT HAVE A MILLION VIEWS???
Who listening this, on March 2020?❤️❤️
#Bahamas
Johnny
I just did. I found Bahamas through Spotify.
March 2021

May 2024!
Just heard this song for the first time and had it on repeat for half an hour…it’s just beautiful.
This song bring me back so many good memories with my ex girlfriend
The fact is I never had a girlfriend
Dafuk is that
I heard this song on some random documentry about living on a small sailboat, I no longer wanna go sailing, I want to go to as many Bahamas concerts to hear this song.
Just remember when,
Before we were lovers,
I swear we were friends.
Whatever brought me here, this is a great piece of music and am happy to promote and listen to this beautiful thing!
Best Bahamas video I've seen yet. It matches the mood of the song so perfectly. I imagine the backup singers in my mind every time I hear it now.
David and Lilly (Very good girls) brought me here 😊
me tooo
Iva S.
Just love them
Me too dude
So addicted to this song. I want to learn to play it. Amazing music
I Have missed your voice, your face, that cheeky smile of your that lights up my day!! Makes my knees weak. You feel like home... like that sweet Petrichor. I hope you like the song... brings me memories of things yet to come! Like my head on your chest your arms around me while we wait in the middle of kitchen for the coffee machine.
You feel his pain and it's so sad, sweet and beautiful. I love this song and video.
My dad loved this song and her sadly past and this song just reminds me of him and I'm crying I miss him so much I wont him back
He is safe and in peace and eventually you’ll see him again but in the mean while he’d want you to enjoy the time you have here and love
The Originals brought me here!
I have Alexa play "sleepy time music" for my birds every night for an hour before bed to help them wind down (sounds silly when I say it out loud, haha) but I'm glad I did because this song plays every night and I absolutely love it, something about it warms my heart ❤️
perfect song. perfectly filmimg girls singing. Him standing and singing, perfect. So perfect. Such talent.
What an awesome song !!!!!! as if I was looking for it.
I'm so surprised by the ways we meet new songs, as if we'd find them when we need them the most...intuition?
YEEEESSSSS?, I feel the same way when it happens.
