The tint is actually necessary for all red dots of this type and is called a “notch filter”. Without it, the reticle would be extremely dim to non-existent. Some have more tint than others and it also has a dramatic effect on battery life. They work by rejecting certain portions of spectrum, while allowing others to pass through. As I understand it (through research), the spectrum that is rejected, we see as a “reflection” of the reticle. Someone with more knowledge could surely explain it better, but it is absolutely necessary for red dots that “project” the reticle image onto the inner lens surface so we can see it while still being able to look through the lens at the same time.

The rear sight plate is held in by a single T30 screw lol. Even with the ironsights alone we had the rear sight plate popping off left and right. Why not just use a direct mount 509 dovetail footprint if you wanted an enclosed emitter? It's more secure that way and doesnt require a proprietary mount.
You guys are wrong, what he’s saying is this, there are two types of M17 pistols one is for the civilians and one is for the military, though they look very similar, the optic will only fit the military version

@@IvanRiveraStageayeah, the military version is slightly different than the civilian version. It’s not entirely clear why, especially when the main selling point of the m17/m18 is that it’s the new choice sidearm of the military…
