Safariland 6004 Drop Leg Holster

This is part 2 of my tactical gear. The holster is a model 6004 made by Safariland. I love the holster for two main reasons. Number one is the fact it has a thumb break lock on it. Number two would be the fact that I have long arms and I like the feel of the holster where my arm hits my thigh. I hope you enjoy and if you need any questions answered comment below. Thanks!

You can put of spray on your leg shroud guard or a plastic mag pouch. Nice video.

Generally speaking Safariland is for professionals. Blackhawk is for mallninjas and airsofters.
If we are talking about the "serpa" that retention system has to be the worst idea in the history of holsters. Having to press with your finger right where your trigger is to get your gun out of the holster is a disaster waiting to happen. Under real stress you are more than likely to keep that pressure on your finger... = boom. You just shot yourself in the leg.
Stick with Safariland. Just my 2 c.

Have you seen the G-Code RTI accessory kit for that holster? It's a quick release interface that let's you move the holster onto other places like onto molle or mounted under a desk or dashboard.

Just grabbed a used one for 20 bucks. Didn't come with a holster though. Looks well made.

i have a 6004 for my glock21 with streamlight tlr 1. the best tactical holster ever! i like them a lot better than the serpa i used to have.

The 6004 only has passive retention and the hood strap right? It doesn't have that 3rd button thing on the new ones?

There are 2 screws on my 6004 for the glock35 as far as retention. the 35 doesn't get much press

What's the difference between the 6004 and 6005. Will your holster accomodate a TLR-1?

you would think that in theory, but you generally don't have that problem with most firearms because the button is placed above the trigger guard. Tex Grebner did shoot himself in the leg using one, but that was with a 1911 which i probably wouldn't recommend a serpa holster for because of the light trigger. but for striker fired, double singles, or double actions they work great. our sheriff and police use them here.
but i prefer the safariland because it accommodates my weapon light.

The 6005 has eveything that the 6004 has, but it has a quick release buckle on the belt mounted strap.

The Safariland 6004 on Amazon also shows that it fits the Beretta 92 versions. Does anyone know if it will also fit the Taurus version of Beretta, PT 101 .40 caliber with railing?

Nice review man, the safariland 6004 is the only decent level 2 drop leg holster available for the glock 21. Ordering mine soon for my Glock 21. Well worth the money, optics planet.net has good prices.

Refer to Travis Haley on properly using that. Never leave that thumb break down. If you find yourself in a disruptive situation like shooting under a car, you could end up not having a pistol to grab. I've seen it happen.

well except for the fact that the Blackhawk holster scoops up dirt when you are crawling around and it builds up under the release button... therefore rendering it useless.... and u cant draw your weapon, so i feel the safariland is better... but what do i know, i just work for the second amendment rights foundation and my boyfriend was a Marine Task Force Operator and now works in law enforcement...
