This is my favorite video so far that explains these concepts. I'm not sure if this would be the easiest video to start with, but it clearly summarizes all of the main points after being introduced to them elsewhere!
It is a real skill to be able to explain what appears to be complex concepts into a format that simplifies and explains each so that they become clearer and I can start to understand them. Thank you!!
Thanks KIllam. You've made the best videos on this complex topic. The best part about your video is unlike others you've made the connections of these concepts much clearer.
This description of a complicated topic is an example of 'profound simplicity' in action - as a lecturer this is the goal I aim to achieve in my teaching practice - congratulations to you!
I really needed to understand this for my upcoming class of Theory of International Relations. Thanks a lot! You may have just saved me from a horrible start of this college year. Many thanks from Holland.
+NurseKillam I just have a question with regards the theistic moral argument, NurseKillam. Many theists tend to assert the existence of an objective morality . I've heard them say that it is a proper basic belief for people to affirm the existence of objective morality....to know that moral rights and wrongs exist. However, they insist on immunising their moral ontology from any sort of epistemological attack. They claim that how we come to know what these specific moral truths are is a separate issue and irrelevant to the ontological claim that moral rights and wrongs(objective morality) exists. But honestly, I find this problematic for this reason : What justification would somebody have for believing that a moral realm exists if they hadn't come to know specific moral truths. Surely, the coming to know moral truths has to precede the affirmation of objective morality, no??Which leads me to this conclusion....surely they have to validate their epistemological framework first, before they can justify their ontological claim?? What are your thoughts??I mean...I could flesh out the whole argument for you if you are not familiar with it and show you where I think it fails. But in some ways, you would have to agree with my query in the first paragraph. Perhaps, you will have to show me where I am going wrong!
i am now living in the world of the living!!! thank you, i am surviving this now since you have given the clear summary of everything! thank you a million times more!!!
You are welcome. That is my goal ... Bringing student zombies back to life with simplified explanations. Who knows, you may even start to like this stuff!
:) i shall continue coming back to watch your video...it's clearer than lectures!!! you are awesome! thanks a million!!! that's the honest truth! :) bless your heart!
Thank you for your clear explanations of these topics! Grateful for your capacity to understand and relate to beginners' mind. :) Sharing with my university classmates.
You're doing a fantastic job! I have a quick question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (air carpet target dish off jeans toilet sweet piano spoil fruit essay). How can I transfer them to Binance?
Thank you again so much for your time in making these brilliant videos. Please would you be kind enough to do one on 't-testing' and 'chi-squared' testing? I don't know if you have already done one, but if you have, would you be kind enough to point me in the right direction? Thank you very much for considering! Best wishes,
You are welcome. I don't have a video specifically about those tests yet but I have added it to my list for December or January. In the meantime +statisticslearningcentre might have one.
Thank you so much for such a clear and simple expiation, I want to read your book but somehow I could purchase your e-book from China, where can I buy your e-book? any suggestion?
Very interesting and concise video. I'd like to buy the ebook, but I don't have a Kindle reader. Is it readable on other devices as well, such as the Kobo or is it kindle only?
Thanks. I believe it it readable on other devices but I'm not familiar with the file formats that they all use. The PDF is for sale on Google. I know that works on computers and most devices.
This is so useful! I have wrestled with these concepts for a while but this video really clarified and simplified what can be made to feel so complex. I particularly like what looked like a mind map of the concepts - is there any way of that being shared? Thank you!!
I'm happy you liked it. I created the mind map style in Prezi. I think I can share it. I'll need to look for sharing the options. Please email me at youstudynursing@gmail.com to remind me and so I can email it to you.
At 6:47 it is said: 'constructivists reject the notion that unobjective reality exists' - surely this should be '...reject the notion that objective reality exists'?
Your videos are helpful in understanding research philosophy. I wanted to read your ebook, but the amazon page your link directs to, says that the book is unavailable. Please help!
Can you please help me to understand. Which type of research I can implement in my thesis Project Management if I can't adopt a methodology method such as interviews and questionnaires. Thanks
NurseKillam I found and purchased the eBook under Google Books on Google Play, thank you (play.google.com/store/books/details?id=nKMnAgAAQBAJ&rdid=book-nKMnAgAAQBAJ&rdot=1&source=gbs_vpt_read&pcampaignid=books_booksearch_viewport).
Audun Andre Bakke That is great to hear! The book is written in a way that is helpful to everyone, but when I wrote it I targeted what nursing students need to know :)
NurseKillam The video is also excellent as well. Question: what is the relationship of a paradigm with the theoretical or conceptual framework ?. Do you have any video on theoretical/conceptual frameworks? Thank you for all of your work.
I do have a video on concepts, models and theories. It is in the research playlist on my channel. Paradigms are views of reality that would guide how one sees the relationships in theoretical or conceptual models.
NurseKillam Thank you for your reply. Very useful links. Something more - in your book and in your videos, you do not mention anything about pragmatism. Why? Thank you
Because it isn't something that is covered in our BScN program. I can do something separately but my to do list has some other priorities on it right now so it would take a while.
This is my favorite video so far that explains these concepts. I'm not sure if this would be the easiest video to start with, but it clearly summarizes all of the main points after being introduced to them elsewhere!
So awesome! In less than 15 mins, you clarified what my professor had been trying to for the last 3 months. Thank you so much
same here! new subscriber :)
Agreed!
It is a real skill to be able to explain what appears to be complex concepts into a format that simplifies and explains each so that they become clearer and I can start to understand them. Thank you!!
You're very welcome!
Thanks KIllam. You've made the best videos on this complex topic. The best part about your video is unlike others you've made the connections of these concepts much clearer.
Perfect. This is the most clear explanation presentation among all the videos I’ve watched. Your Pretzi is impeccable and easy to follow.
Thank you so much for this. I have been racking my brain. This snappped everything into place.
This description of a complicated topic is an example of 'profound simplicity' in action - as a lecturer this is the goal I aim to achieve in my teaching practice - congratulations to you!
Thank you, super lifesaver during my procrastination. Now I’m heading back to the typing grind
I have a midterm tomorrow and this seriously helped so much. Made everything a lot clearer and easier to understand! Thank you!
You are welcome. I hope you do well :)
Thank you. Simple explanation made complex ideologies easy to understand
I really needed to understand this for my upcoming class of Theory of International Relations. Thanks a lot! You may have just saved me from a horrible start of this college year.
Many thanks from Holland.
I'm happy it helped. Good luck in school!

I'm so glad I found your channel!!
It looks like as if you are the creator of these philosophies. Awesome NurseKillam.
post-positivism! I get it now... also was hoping for an easy explanation of interpretivism
i am now living in the world of the living!!! thank you, i am surviving this now since you have given the clear summary of everything! thank you a million times more!!!

I'm happy to hear it. I'm trying to get back to making more soon!
Very interesting vedio, you made it very simple as possible; however, i still need more comparison between constuctivisim and post-positivism.
Thanks. Have you seen this video? It may help. ua-cam.com/video/bbwgr3TEVUE/v-deo.html
Very nicely explained sis. What is your opinion on statistical tools available to study qualitative research
This has been so helpful! Thank you very much.
+cygnus I'm happy it helped!
Thank you very much! Very informative and clear! I'm puzzled what we can do with these '-isms'? How can wen use them in theses?
The terminology isn't always used in a thesis but understanding them helps you understand why you make the decisions you do in your proposal.
I see. Thank you very much!
How is it possible to know if an article is research before reading the article. Are there clues in the introduction?
Very clear and to the point. Thank you:)
I'm happy to help. Let me know if you need anything else explained. Also, if you happened to buy the book I'm interested in your thoughts about it.
+Shourjya Deb printing it at a local print shop?
Examples for each paradigm would be helpful in understanding your point. Very abstract
Hello there. I really liked the video. Also if you don't mind me asking can the ebook be downloaded for free??
This lecture was amazing. Thank you:)

+Linda Smith I mean "that an objective reality"
I also got stuck there. But I figured out it was an.
In love and in politics, truth is agreement... In human affairs, consequence enforces objectivity, but semblance runs the show...
Thanks on the explanation, at least now the relationship between these three are clear and make it easier to understand them when doing research.
You are welcome :)
is there any videos discussing the tenets of each??
No, sorry. The book goes into more detail but it sounds like it might not be enough for you. It's aimed at undergraduate students.
It is excellent and vivid. Thanks much
Epistemology relates to our understanding of what counts as knowledge and how knowledge is constructed. True or false?
Very informative and helpful in my studies...Thanks!
