    Great job, super clean nice looking build ! Don't worry about some of these other negative comments. Not all ports have to be 6" X 12" slots or 6" round. The only reason for using a large port is usually to increase efficiency and reduce any port noise. A lower powered system as you built does not have that worry. I bet in the van it sounds pretty good. Again well done.

    Could have 'recessed' the amp a bit more to make it more durable and less subject to 'knocking' because you have the 'cut out' anyway. Nice clean finish simple look. Love it.

    Plug the port with a rag or something to test it sealed, it might sound better. Usually those lower powered subs like sealed boxes.

      it's supposed to be plug and play, like put a boxy thing in your car and wait, but I've never really done anything like it so I wanted to ask since it's supposed to be some sort of like "insider guru" level stuff that's super simple. I figured with your awesome DIY knowledge you might have heard of it. Thanks for the reply man :)

      WHen you are installing power cables from battery (in most cases just +, and gnd is taken from the trunk) alwayz use one side of your car for power cables from bat, and other side for signal RCA cables from headunit. Just because you can get buzzing alternator noise from your loudspeaker. If you once get buzzing alternator noises you have to check your ground and make it better, if you still got this problem you can buy rca ground loop fix condenzators. Or cheapest solution is with a simple wire ground your rca conectors on the hadunit to headunit cover, this work :) Worked for me too, even im used different sides, ive got a BOOM sound when I turned off my engine.. Using a high quality rca cables could solve this , but its not recommended to install these cables together. Btw nice clean work , looks great, and nice MDF high quality materials are you workin with . Keep up the good work . For my builds , visit channel wutdafuqq22 on youtube. Sorry for my eng , homies.

      150w rms is good enough. Unless u have a very low sensitivity woofer, thats a different story.

    • @TechnikToni-Overtribe
      @TechnikToni-Overtribe 6 років тому

      Not even 150 thats max 80Watts with no controll or dampaning of the woofer and cause the box is small and not even calculated right it won´t be loud a all

      Stay tune and subscribe to my channel, I'm about to build a similar subwoofer as you have now, Sony NW1200 Xplod. It will be perfect for a 0.88-1.0 cubic feet of sealed box enclosure. You'll have to use a subwoofer calculator to get the actual measurements by the given volume.

      Hello thank you for watching and leaving a feedback. Ported (or vented) subwoofers are designed to produce deep and boomy bass. And must've been the video has been shot using a cheap mobile phone, so sound is not accurate.

    • @chrclmnky
      @chrclmnky  6 років тому

      Hello Mustafa, this amp is way underpowered for the JBL sub I used. Better get a more powerful separate mono or bridgable amp for your subwoofer. 😯

    • @mkarabyk819
      @mkarabyk819 6 років тому

      my sub 120 rms your amp maybe enough. Could you suggest another amlifier from aliexpres. Because i will make active subwoofer box .

    • @chrclmnky
      @chrclmnky  6 років тому

      Yes, there's a 200w RMS subwoofer amp plate in Aliexpress model number YD-800w. Just use this keyword "new arrival 12v subwoofer amplifier". 😉

  • @HaraldBergTechTv
    @HaraldBergTechTv 6 років тому +23

    Nice build but that amp is not powerful enough to drive that sub.

    • @Ernestom5
      @Ernestom5 6 років тому +2

      How much power does the amp provide and how much power does the sub demand? I thought a speaker would work with any amount of power.

    • @AlanGonzalez-om4rr
      @AlanGonzalez-om4rr 6 років тому +6

      It will "work" but its like connecting that sub to an headphones output, its nonsense to use an such small amp with that sub.

    • @Ernestom5
      @Ernestom5 6 років тому

      Is there a rule about the power demand or does it rely on the technical specs of each sub?

    • @48884BB
      @48884BB 6 років тому +2

      depends on the sub. if it needs 100 watts RMS then you should never give it less. otherwise you'll starve it. and like the name implies, same as in humans, if you don't have a proper power intake, you'll stop working sooner. so if you underpower a sub it will die sooner.

    • @Ernestom5
      @Ernestom5 6 років тому +2

      1000w speaker means that the speaker will strike at 999w or it will blow at 1001? At which frequency it will accept the 1000w? For how long? At which THD (%)? At which temperature and/or humidity? I have the impression that a speaker/amp complex is an active system with constanlty changing parameters where "static" specs like "1000w" simply does not aply.
