- I eat at and review Waldo’s Chicken & Beer in the Germantown neighborhood of Nashville, Tennessee. The establishment is a small, Southern chain restaurant that serves incredible fried chicken and southern food. However, I run the Nashville Marathon before I’m able to do any eating or drinking. In addition, I have coffee at Barista Parlor in Germantown, which is one of the most notable coffee shops in the city. Later, I enjoy a craft beer at Monday Night Preservation Co. Then, I have a whiskey tasting at Standard Proof Whiskey Co. After that, I check out the crowds on Broadway. Finally, I eat a pizza from DeSano Pizzeria Napoletana in the Assembly Food Hall.

I know what you mean. I didn't get to say that the chicken was piping hot when it came out and I couldn't even hold it. So that's why I'm eating with a fork for my first bites.

I love the Michael Jackson pic on the wall 😂, and a good food hall never disappoints! I'm a dark beer guy myself, and that porter looked excellent! 13%?! Perfect to unwind after the race! I race mountain bikes, and often times they are sponsored by beer companies. We are fortunate to have it waiting for us at the finish line! Thanks again for another great video!

Hi James ! First off, congratulations on running 17th in the marathon. The heat has been the downfall of many an Olympic marathon runner. I'm sure we will see you on the podium next time ! Monday night is one of our favorite breweries in town. If you are a big stout beer drinking, MNB has some of the best in town. Also, next time you are in town, check out Tennessee Brew Works. IMO they have the best hot chicken and their craft beer is great!

My head felt fine the next day, but my legs felt pretty sore from the marathon.
Jesse Watters has a thing about not eating soup in a restaurant (I don’t), but I do have a problem eating fried chicken in one. I love fried chicken, but I only eat it at home.
Fair enough. There are definitely certain dishes that taste better at home.

How does this compare with Willie Mae's? (the supposed best in the country in New Orleans and now Los Angeles?) Congrats on the Marathon. Be sure to drink lots of vitamin c containing green juices (Suja, Trader Joe even better) to replace vitamins. The immune system takes a beating after a marathon. I once ran 4 miles a day for 10 years in a row without missing a day.
Nice! Yeah, it's good to be a consistent runner. I've had Willie Mae's from it's food hall location in New Orleans, which I loved, but it wasn't the original so I can't be the perfect judge, but that was great fried chicken!

Unfortunately, the time qualifications to automatically qualify for the NYC marathon are much faster than my race time, but I'm sure someday I'll be able to do the NYC race.
