- Watch Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins and Studio 606’s Chief Engineer John “Lou” Lousteau discuss their different perspectives on drum recording while they track “Down in Flames” with the artist Stolen Thunder.
The Foo Fighters Studio 606 relies on Apogee’s Symphony I/O Mk II audio interface as the centerpiece of their recording rig. The flagship AD/DA conversion quality offered by Symphony is essential for capturing every bit of detail from their legendary Neve console to their Pro Tools HD system. “It just sounded f****** good,” Lou commented, after hearing Symphony I/O for the first time.
When Studio 606 is occupied, drummer Taylor Hawkins is able to record on a similar Symphony I/O rig at his home studio, without sacrificing quality. “When we were putting the rig together for his house, Symphony was perfect,” Lou remarks.

Taylor still one of my fav drummers he's got that passion
Yeah I love seeing him play! He is really feeling the music, no wonder he and Dave gets the most recognition, cause they are the ones that are most alive on stage(No hate towards the others, love them all!)
One of my fave drummers ever. He records like a dream his hits are perfect... ALL of them. If I ever sound like TayTay on a record I can die happy.
Taylor---absolutely effing awesome. A natural talent with a great natural sound. Really enjoyed seeing this, thanks for posting.
I could watch a whole movie on this.
Absolutely incredible. Love the cinematography, editing, and retro grain look! I hope someday to hear a Symphony I/O in real life. Apogee you killed it WITH THIS ONE!

Sooooo much better than Dave Grohl. Not close. I've always been thankful that Dave got out from behind the kit and up front where he belongs.
