Thank Nick, Manny, George and the rest of the crew for taking on my project. I've been chatting with Chris Birdsong from junkerup and he said congrats on getting it to Nick's
Thanks, buddy!
It's truly an awesome project Nick's Garage is who I'd select You got a Charger at Nicks you've got my respect
Stephane, my name is David, I have a 67 Camaro Rs, I’am looking forward to your project. I became quite interested in Eugene’s car, and will be here for every episode of your build. Good luck my friend, and Thank You Nicks Garage.👍
You own my favorite car. I drove a 383 1970 charger in high school but my buddy had an RT440 in that green (also a 70 charger) . I hope you are prepared for the sticker shock my friend, but even after that you need to know....that is a really special car and worth every penny.
Birdsong knows those cars bodies better then his own body. cool that he congratulated Nicks garage!
Nick, please NEVER retire 😃 who else is going to give us so much joy watching the magic you work on these cars?
very true.
I Agree we need Nicks Garage in our lives
As far as the nest goes, I've been in the automotive service/repair industry for over 13 years and you see all sorts of animal garbage at times. Eventually, you're like 'yep, there ya go.' Getting back to the '70 Charger R/T: do try and save it. Not many of these gems are still rolling around. Majority now are locked up in museums or sealed in airtight bags to never see the light of day again. The one's that are left, it's an honor to see what joy the automotive industry had created at a time when life was different, not to mention it's a different culture in its own.
It looks very restorable to me. From a bodywork standpoint I find that original untouched cars are so much nicer to work on than cars that have been previously repaired and "restored". It's also much easier to show the client how much work is required because nothing is hidden. It's hard to explain to a customer that their nice shiney "restored" car with a couple rust blisters is a cobbled together mess underneath.
Wait till Stephan sees the quote to rebuild this skeleton back to his expectations! That will be the crossroad of dreams and dollars. Nick can do all the mechanicals once he has a solid frame and body to work with. Bon chance, mon ami!
THANK YOU FOR SAVING THIS CAR NICK! I’d go for it! I will help when we come get Betsy’s Engine! See you soon Nick and crew!
A friend in high school had a ‘70 RT, triple black, 440 six pack, 4 speed pistol grip.
Unbelievably beautiful car!
Dumbass wrapped it around a tree.
I have wanted one ever since.
Can’t wait to see this one done!!!
Thanks Nick and crew.
0:40 - Poor Leo took one look at that car and said 'au revoir'! 😄
I've seen worse! The key thing here is that the frame rails and rockers are solid. Go for it Nick!!
No matter how this 1970 Dodge Charger R/T appears now, after Nick and his crew get done working their magic, there will be another Mopar classic back on the road again! As always thanks Nick for posting yet another one of your videos!
You pretty much have to restore it now! Heck, after removing all the rotted parts and the nasty mouse nest, the hard part is over. The rest is a labor of love! Can't wait to see the progress and final completion! This will be as epic as the 500 (maybe moreso!)
mouse nest ? that was a mouse condo
Anything is fixable, depends on how deep the customers pockets are, been there done it!
It looks like the car was saved just in time.
Yeah, it's worth doing if someone has the vision and the resources to hang in there to see it through. I think the car landed in the right place to see it transformed from dirt to diamonds! It is definitely interesting how the car is rotted the way it is in certain places, but not the other usual areas you would normally see rust. That back window pocket area is really the worst of it as far as the amount of work needed to fix that right. That rat condo in the dash is really a nice one! That will be quite a job in itself to restore. Destructive little critters they are. Have fun with this one Nick!
If anybody can bring that Charger back to life it's Nick and the crew at Nicks garage. I think that beast deserves a 543 cubic inch torque monster engine.
Nothing that money can't fix. Nick's the man to get it back on the road and looking beautiful again!
Nick...
It's like one of your own kids... You always bring it back from the dead...
It's a gift to have the capability to bring em back...
Sentimental Build...been there, emotional endeavor. Enjoy the transformation. The money for this build is going back completely original.
Bring it back Nick. Once that car is gone, it’s gone never to return. You and the crew are artists that can complete the job.
Man, that's enough to make you reconsider retiring! So odd the erosion is not consistent throughout the body. Sure hope Stephan has deep pockets! Nick, listening to you opening the letters and gifts shows your deep love for these beautiful cars and your dedicated customers and viewers. Thanks for staying around for us.
Wow, what a project! It would be interesting to know how it rusted in that way. I'd be willing to place a bet on you completing this project. I hope you dip it, like Eugene's Charger. That really seemed to work well. Good luck with it.
I realize that it's an enthusiast's dream car, that has too count for alot. It's going to be very pricey and eat many hours. The owner came to the right person to fulfill his dream.
With enough money, anything can be done. Whether it's worth it or not depends on your feeling for it. Rougher cars have come back to life! One good thing here is it's being done by Nick and the team, so expect it to be perfect. Will be great to watch the progress. Cheers!
NICK HAS PUT TOGETHER CARS in much worse shape and they ended up as show cars all that is needed is time and money Nick will build this and it will be perfect
As long as the owner understands how much money and time it takes to restore the car, it’s all good!
Hey Nick, you caught me by surprise with this Wednesday bonus video. This 70 R/T is going to need a massive amount of work to complete the restoration. The body will spend a lot of time on the frame table while the body panels are being replaced. Stephane I wish you the all best with your project. You have made the right choice by choosing Nick's Garage for your restoration, just as I did many months ago. I enjoyed seeing mail time again, and a big thank you to Anthony for sending the red pie tin to complete my engine.
That was nice of him.
Thanks Eugene. You inspired me with your Charger 500 to send my car to Nick
@@nickpanaritis4122 It sure was a very nice thing for him to do for me. I was beginning to think that I would never have the correct pie tin. Thank you for showing the difference between the colors on mail time.
@@stephane1052 If I inspired you to go after your dream, than I'm happy that I did. Everyone should be able to drive their dream car. You made the right choice sending it to Nick.
@@eugenecastles7475 . He gave it to me as a finders fee for selling his Hemi K-Member to Abdul from Qatar.
It's going to take six figures to fully restore this car, no doubt.
He will spend twice what it will be worth. Especially changing the colour and putting a four speed in
@@canabox7112 Yeah, he will soon learn that it is far less expensive to buy an already restored car than it is to pay for a full restoration. I've been there, done that. I'm not sure why he chose this particular car to sink his money into. If it had sentimental value, then I could understand. But he's only had this car for a few years. I don't fault him for wanting to save it from the crusher, but I just hope he knows what he is getting into.
Big projects reap big rewards. Absolutely deserves a second life and you sir are its champion as you are all of ours.
This is a very classic of a classic. Please don't give up. I LOVE THESE CARS!
Nick , you name that Charger right . I can see the oh man ,what did I get into look, but also the look of experience, knowledge, and the Can Do attitude. I would save it ,if it can be saved . But I'm not the one doing the work, planning, and long days on it . I fully understand where your coming from too Nick . We ain't getting any younger . You are also correct on finding people, body shops, the Old School Crowd to help . I hate to admit that too . If I was 35 years younger and no injuries...I would packup my bottom and top box ,head your way and beg for a job . You have to get me a bed in the shop and you wouldn't be able to run me off with a stick !!!!!!! That's the truth 💯...Yall have a great week Nick and Krew ...be safe .
At this point in life the job is to mentor the next generation to continue the muscle car passion.
Nick never retire. Continue to do what you love. We love what you do
Thank you Fred.
I figured I'd retire. So I'll retire to building another 440 charger hahahahahah.
Nick will never retire. We love him and he loves chargers. Especially with a 440
It’s always worth keeping these machines on the road. I wish Nick was closer to me, I’d be bringing my 70 Charger in.
as many issues as it has you've made a big improvement just by the disassembly. I'm glad you're taking on the project. I can feel the heart and soul of this car. It's practically begging to get back on the street. Do it Nick!!!
You keep doing restorations like this, they will never let you retire!
I know.
I will be here for every episode, bring that car back to life, Nicks crew can raise the dead.😂
Nick, with sheet metal provided, this'll be a cake walk. Seriously, take it on for the reasons of keeping another one on the road and the content of an amazing channel. Keep up the excellent work sir.
Heeeeeyyyyyy a Wednesday video !!! Thank-you Nick,Manny, and George. Cool to be hanging out in the shop today . Thank-you George for all your hard work getting these on the air 👏!!!
Thanks, Sarge.
That R/T Charger, when finished I, know will blow people's minds. The owners did the right thing, by hiring you and your talented crew. For your knowledge, expertise, dedication, and love, and attention to detail. You and your crew will have that R/T Charger, looking good and running like a scalded Dog, like she just came off the Showroom Floor. Can't wait to see and hear her run, and watch the test drive. Its going to be an Awesome episode, seeing her transformation!!!!
This is gonna be expensive, but they brought it to the right place. Nick does Mopar cars right!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Nick hope you bring this beautiful Charger RT back to life. The harder the challenge, the more your driven to do it. Let's save it👍.
Nick, the sheet metal is there. The floor and trunk, once in place, will cover a lot of real estate. And put a whole new light on things. Press on! You've got this!
I would bring it back from the dead. This car is automotive history, it's up to old dudes like us to save this history. Automotive history is not about pictures and sitting on display, it's about getting in the car and driving from Vancouver to Halifax and talking to people along the way. I am getting a 1986 Nissan 300ZX restored and changed to manual so I know. This car might look really rough and it is, but you throw those new panels at it, which are likely made better than the originals and few for fixes and it will be incredible. Along the way the owner will be doing like I am, scouting for parts and being as active as he can in the project. This car is excellent for old men like me in Australia in a tiny powered cubby house waiting for the rain to stop. Well Done All!
I just pulled 60 lbs. of rat nests and rat poop out of a Barracuda and you have just reminded me that I didn't check under the dash. It's almost enough to make me bail on the project. Please don't retire Nick. There isn't anyone else who does this like you do.
You know, so it's got a big nest inside the dashboard. Acid dip it and that takes care of that. Small hole in trunk to no trunk, it's still workable!!! And you can do it Nick, the more the challenge, the more we all want to see it done, Good luck!!!
Good 👍
I agree. It's very workable.
We all know you are going to bring it back to life it's going to look awesome when you are done with it
Would love to see this car rise from the ashes like a Phoenix! Lotta work, and a lotta cake. I'm stickin' around to watch! Thanks guys for another great show! Can't wait to see Eugene's car on the street!
if anyone can bring that car back it’s definitely Nick! solid frame and front end is a good start
Wow!!!! Rough to be sure!!!! But, to a dedicated, passionate guy like you, Nick, just another challenge………..a STIFF one perhaps, but nothing that can’t be conquered!!!! One thing for sure, all of us who watch and will be watching know for certain that it’ll be done WELL, RIGHT, AND WITH EXCELLENCE!!!! If it were me, I’d do it.
Nick, that Charger is going to take an unbelievable amount of work and a boatload of cash to bring it back to life. I worked in autobody repair for 17 years and I know this is going to be one hell of a project. I have no doubt you can do it Nick because you are the MoPar Master of the Universe! Stephon, you picked the best guy to put this beast back together again! Bill from Linglestown Pennsylvania
Hey Nick, Depends on how much money they want to put in to it.
I Love Charger R/T's
I use to have 3 in my years.
But money talks, but again, how
Much time will it take, I see 2 to 3 years.
Is it worth it, ( where will every body be in 2 to 3 years???) Love every body and your show, Good Luck.
Nick you have the skill and the knowledge to turn this turd into a work of art. Do it, while you are still able to physically. Right now you are still able to turn this into a work of art. Properly restored, your legacy lives on and the story of this car will be passed on with the car years down the road. Obviously you enjoy what your doing, and the results show it. So don't retire until you finally know deep down it's time. Love your videos, and turn this into a masterpiece.
Thank you Alan.
Call this build Frankenstein since it's green and it need so much new metal. Love watching you guys. Keep up the great work 👍
We agree!
That is a great name for this basket case of a car. I totally agree. Fred
Hello Nick, I have been Certified General Motors Body & Paint Technician for 40 years & have done about 20 frame off restorations. What bothers me is how bad the roof is , especially where the front & rear glass mount areas just to start with. Once you clean up the dash area the metal might be compromised from urine etc. I don't know what might be left after dipping, sandblasting can tear away some good metal that is thinned out. Truthfully the time & material would be very expensive . This is just my observation opinion. The rest my friend is up to the Body shop. Stay safe and well & warm. Signed John ( Dr. Olds) Gregory from Munster Indiana. U.S.A.
Thank you John. I have to work with the body shop on this car.
Frankenstein was in bad shape 2! The worse the mess, the more mad scientist we see of Dr. Nick's magic!Keep it gojng, bro! LONG LIVE MOPAR!!!
I like the little Police Chase that shows up at the bottom of the screen
Retire?? Remember the immortal words of BonScott: “It’s a long way to the top of you want to Rock & Roll!” You can’t retire, you’re on top of the world now!
Projects like this are seldom about rationality, money, or exercises in pragmatic judgment. What few realize is that they represent passion, preservation of heritage, proof of a time of social invincibility and confirmation that the realization of a beneficial future is only through intelligent, considerate, rational teamwork and confidence to manage risks successfully. In this case the outcomes are once more common cars that dreams were and can be again made of. If more observe this effort, the result is infectious to each aspect of communal life. Just imagine a world like that!? One car at a time Master Nick.
Fix it, I've been a 70 B body guy for 40 years , you've got all the important parts, fix it, fix it, fix it !!!! 😁
This classic muscle car MUST be brought back to life Nick. Love your video's from across the pond.
Thanks for watching, Lionel.
Hello Nick, George & Manny. Everything is worth restoring if the passion is truly there my daughter Natalie reckons so I'm with her but man that Charger is sure sad in places though, but with your knowledge and those that assist you it will be just fine as long as Stefan's got the money I guess. Enjoyed mail time as always great to see what comes from the viewers both near & far. Stay safe all.
That is awesome!
Very cool decision to switch on 4 speed, i'd done it exactlythe same! But since its numbers mathing, he should keep the original transmission.
It’s a great project as long as long as the owner can afford it. I cant imagine how you estimate a job like this. If anybody can bring this car back it’s you and your staff, Nick!! Bless y’all!
To build that black and to hide all the body work , that’s going to be very impressive !!! 😎
Nick, in my opinion you have to restore it... As soon as you laid your hands on that car you owned it... It was meant to be..!!!
The DODGE GODS are not ready for you to retire since your blood is tainted with DODGE BLOOD... !!!!
I know this will be one more of your Master pieces...!!!!
Can't wait to see you deliver another master piece before you retire...!!!!
P.S. TRUCK DRIVING IS IN MY BLOOD, I CRAVE IT AND WILL KEEP ON TRUCKING UNTIL MY MIND, BODY AND SOUL TELLS ME OTHERWISE... !!!!
I FEEL THE SAME ABOUT YOU..!!!!
YOU SIR WONT STOP UNTIL YOUR MIND ,BODY AND SOUL TELLS YOU OTHERWISE....!!!!!
YOU SIR ARE ONE OF A HANDFUL OF OLD SCHOOL RESTORERS LEFT ON THIS EARTH...!!!!
MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR TALENTS...!!!!
Nick, you just can't get enough of these can you? You can magic!
Although it might not make financial sense to restore it, if someone loves it enough to commit the resources to preserving a historic Mopar I think it is a cool thing to do with your money. I'd love to see Nick's Garage work magic on this car! Thanks for not retiring, Nick!
Fix it nick if he has the money .we all know that you will do it right. That is the most important thing in a project like this.
Nick, you are a true professional and it shows in the passion you have in what you do for ALL cars, but thank God it's mainly Mopars😁
8:24 That looks like packrats were the cause of the nesting behind the dash. Not common in Canada, but lots in Texas!
Bring it back from the dead Nick. The owner of this car is a working man , you can see the love in his eyes for that machine but even more importantly, he is so happy to have nicks garage restoring it for him. You will be building a dream machine . Yes it will require nearly everything but who else would or even could do this for that family. I think in the end you will be glad you followed through on this project. Besides all that, it's a 70 charger!!! Only the best looking charger ever. Sorry Eugene , but I owned a 70 back in my youth , so I'm a bit biased
Thank you for that comment. I am humbled.
@@stephane1052 no problem man....back when I was a teenager my buddy had a perfect version of your exact car. It was 1978 and these machines were pretty rare even then. I had a 383 version but mine was kinda rough and I lusted afer my buddies 70 RT.
Build it. Another piece of American automotive history saved. Keep up the good work team Indy Auto!
what a project car 1970 charger can’t wait to see the end result Black with the dog dish hubcaps it’s going tobe a nice one wow unbelievable how critters can get in and make such a mess
If you want to see critter messes check out some of the UA-cam channel Restored
It’s going to be perfect! It’s just the sheet metal that’s gone but the soul; the soul is still there.
Nick your the King, no questions but you can't kill this car! Lots of work but We are here to watch and appreciate your skills. keep going...
Thanks for trying to convince him to keep it in f8 dark metallic. I've got a 70 as well that came in the same shade (going to return it to that later..) I'm glad you're not retiring, while I don't comment often: I love the videos. You teach me a lot, Thank You!
With a tan interior it's a beautiful combo
Thanks for watching!
@@NicksGarage
Wednesday??
When did you start this Sir ???
Nothing better imo than F8 ivy green!
What a project…so much to do! Thought I would comment whoever picks the background music has excellent taste! A little blues, some rock n’ roll 👍
Nick's Garage is the best When you're restoring an oldschool car you might encounter a rats nest but it's a responsibility to remove any unwanted house guest that's why it's always Nick's Garage who I suggest They're gonna cut out the old and weld in the new A day in the life of Nick and the crew With a rat's nest like that cleaning it out first is all you can do
I have no doubts that Nick and his awesome crew will prevail. This will be interesting to watch now that Eugene's Baby is almost done.
Nick when I was 17 I had a 1970 charger SE with a 318, it was made from at least 4 cars... too much bondo, and it was primer black. I loved it though, It was actually much more solid than what you are working on now. I am anticipating seeing your build because these days, a lot of folks are faced with the reality that they can only find fairly rusted cars with good titles!
Wow the rats live there along time! i believe this project can change if build it with the original part's and the correct way, regards from Greece 🇬🇷 Nick ❤️
You’re right when you say it’s up to the owner, Nick. If he wants it fixed, just fix it. It’s by no mean’s totalled.
The Charger has way more work to do than first glance. I see a years worth of work if just one guy works on it. Getting all the interior parts alone could take that long. I think you should take it on Nick but for more money if you have already had discussed a price. BIG cleanup!
Nick, we love your videos, and we'll watch along as you rebuild that Charger. But I'd say you have to make sure you can get that engine right. Matching numbers makes the deal worth it, less so with a replacement motor.
We will all feel a lot better once we get that engine apart.
P.s. …. This is why we keep coming back to watch your video’s Nick , because you impress up with your work and knowledge! ❤️😎
Nick, I saw the pleading eyes when Stephane arrived and his wife's body language of total support. Then the absolute joy and care getting all the metal-work they had collected out of his car. Nick and the crew will "do the job" and I and many others will have the ecstasy of watching "the master plan" in action.
True story.
A friend and I pulled a 76 w200 400 4 speed powerwagon off a farm yard that had been sitting for 30 years.
The mouse nest went from the top of the dash all the way into the bottom vents, across the whole dash and even up inside the a pillers.
2 days to clean that thing.
"Nick's Garage" restoration adds 30% to the value of the car 👍
Guys like us don't retire we die underneath the hood of a car it's in our blood we can never stop working on cars I'm 50 and have been doing this sence I was 15 and some day I will be found under a hood cause even know I still love what I do and like you said there isn't meny of us left that can do this work I have seen a few guys that are young and very talented but it's not like it was hard to find guys with the Passions for restoration
I was wondering how bad that rust was around the front and rear window inserts!? Stephan is going to need some deep pockets it would seem! All the best man, 'cause it looks like a huge undertaking! Much more sheet metal required I guess
Amazing what damage a little mouse and his family creates !!! You got it Nick 👍❤️👍
I’m a Texas boy, bred and born and I just don’t see this car coming from the Lone Star State UNLESS it’s a Gulf Coast vehicle.
Or, IN the gulf?
I agree. The rusty areas suggest salt air rather than road salt.
Nick, let me tell you. You get Roger started on that and he'll make that car look like Eugene's. Will it be cheap, hell no, will the bodywork take a whole damn year? Probably. Will it be worth it, HELL YES!
Your good nature got taken advantage of Nick, I hope you charge this guy accordingly. 🤙🏼🚙 💨
Your the pro who can bring it back from the Dead! Please 🙏🏽 Godspeed from the Yakima Valley in Washington State.
That charger is going to be a big project. The best way to describe the car, is that it's in a coma, and Dr Nick and his staff of specialists, will be busy with bringing this charger back from a near death experience, to a great looking machine. Next year at this time, i'm sure that all the pieces will be starting to come together and looking much better 👍
If only I had complete tools, I say I'll bring this beast back to life
NICK,
That's what the R/T on this charger stands for - RATS.
!
Just like I said on Instagram nick , anything can be fixed. With that said though it’s going to be well into the six figure territory to bring it back , we all know it’s in the best hands I just hope the owner is ready to rollout some serious cash .
Don't forget: This wonderful Car is 52 years old. So it's in a relativ good shape, you can restore it easyli; the only Problem is money and time.
Nick, I would bring the car back!
Love these cars….. beautiful design lines!
You and me both!
