    Thanks, Dave - I know this will be helpful - I hear so many stories of people having clearcoat issues, even when the paint and the clearcoat are the same brand and you'd expect compatibility. I suspect in many cases more drying time is needed, but I'm no expert. This product sure looks like a winner. 👍

      Thanks Mark. I agree. I see lots of people having trouble. I think you’re right. Hopefully this will help some guys out.

    Hi Dave! great video. what size syringe do you use 5ml, 10ml, or 20ml?

      @shotgundaveslotcars  4 місяці тому

      Thanks Neil! Any of those will work fine. But I use the smallest one. 5ml I believe.

    Does this product also help with adding some toughness to the body? More resistant to crashes I mean. Not expecting to be shatter proof but was wondering if it helps reduce body twist. If that makes sense.

    • @shotgundaveslotcars
      @shotgundaveslotcars  3 місяці тому +2

      @@IrrerasCarrera Good question Joe. It doesn’t add any strength to the body. But it is more resilient than other clears, which helps avoid scratches. And if it does get scratches, they’re easier to fix.

    The Tamiya product that you recommended to protect the decal, does it come in rattle can?

      @@mdbrynteson Mark, it’s Tamiya XF-86 Acrylic Clear.

      @@shotgundaveslotcars I applied Tamiya TS 51 lacquer spray paint and Revell chrome paint to my land barge, with the chrome paint used in a small area for added detail. Now, as I prepare to apply decals, I'm considering using TS-13 Clear (which I believe is lacquer-based) before applying the decals to avoid direct contact with the lacquer spray paint. My question is, can I apply a coat of Tamiya XF-86 Acrylic Clear over the decals before finishing with TS-13 Clear, or should I skip the TS-13 Clear altogether and only use Tamiya XF-86 Acrylic Clear?

      @@mdbrynteson I’m not following exactly what you are wanting to do Mark. Seems like lots of different clear coats. If you’re using water based paint, put a coat of the acrylic clear over it, then your decals and another coat of acrylic clear over the decals. Let it dry overnight, and then put your final clear on.
