SWITS Feral well the Army multi cam looks better, at least to me. Maybe I’m a little biased but still. Anyway, MARPAT is pretty cool looking. Does well in dark woodland areas. Multi cam is more of a woodland/prairie/grassland type of camouflage.
A bad day in the Marine Corps: It's cold and rainy You're in a foxhole You're tired and wet, You're being shot at A bad day in the Air Force: The cable's out! --From a former Airman
@@gainer448 A bad day in the Coast Guard is when the phone rings in Radio.. "Hey, the sat tv lost its sync, can you re-sync it, we're missing Jerry Springer". I actually got a call like that once. But in their defense, we were on the end of our 10-week patrol. Now, FWIW, 14 months on a 210 ft boat, 10 months total spent away from homport. You kinda lose situational awareness of what's important after a few weeks out.
Army: Travel the world and get shot at. Marines: Travel the world and kill everything, Navy: Travel the world on a ship. Air Force: Travel the world with Trivago.
@@finaldestination2473 why are you going to college first?! What a waste of time. You would be earning college credits with training and getting your degree in the Marines!
My friend who was on the army said joining is a matter of which stars you care about. The navy use stars to navigate The army sleep under the stars The marines salute the stars The airforce use them to decide hotels
I spent 8 years in the air force and it was a great experience. After separating finishing school with the GI bill and entering the civilian workforce I regret not seeking to retire with the military.
I know it is a joke. But in fact the requirements for joining the army has been a lot harder. Especially the ASVAB cognitive test. In fact the ones who pass is a lot smarter than the average.
@@jmartin2159 I'm pretty sure I have witnessed and experienced a lot of dumbasses in two branches in partcular... about even I'd say.... lol... That's what happens when the military does surges and promotes people that shouldn't be.
Pvt. Pineapple The Army has a lot of cruel and stupid people without a moral compass or filter on them. It’s the most popular branch of the military, but also the most unorganized. If you compare a 20-year-old soldier with a 20-year-old Airman and put them side-by-side, the soldier looks all beat up and has pimples all over him and the airmen is all clean and smooth. As for their personalities, soldiers will usually be very dumb or very loud and uncouth, whereas the Airmen will be soft-spoken and polite.
Let’s compare them by their stereotypical relationships Air Force: lives on base with wife and kids Army: sometimes has girlfriend who cheats on them while deployed Marines: has tons of one night stand but never relationships Navy: well when you’re in an inclosed space with only men...
@@DB-dh4qi Its spelled Navajo but we are a group of Indineous people or a tribe located usually near the four corners but today majority of my tribe actually refer to ourselves as Dinè. A lot of us do serve mainly because there is not much going on, there arent many opportunities, or because we have a military family because our greatparents served in WW2 :)
My cousin was a pilot in the Air Force. He stated it was pretty easy. He didn't really like it when people would thank him for his service. He went over seas a few times, but said he was never in much danger. He was always 20,000 feet in the air, so he didn't have a lot to worry about up there. He said it was the Marines and the Army that faced most of the danger. Air Force and Navy didn't have a lot to worry about. Those are his words, not mine. This video kind of lines up with what he said.
It's all in what you do. Air Force has many Airmen in harms way (PJs, CCTs, Recon, TACPs, EOD, Security Forces, Engineers, etc) on the ground and outside the wire putting in work. Navy has SEALs, EOD, Corpsmen (assigned to USMC), SeaBees as well. The AF/Navy's "infantry" is their Fighters, Bombers, AC-130 gunships, Destroyers, etc. The main differences is culture. If we were fighting conventional militaries with an arsenal, air and naval combat would be much more dangerous.
@@simul8guy75 you can’t compare a special operations team to the main branch though, navy seals are absolute monsters and the training speaks for itself
Sounds like old joke: How to Tell the Difference Between the Branches of the US Armed Forces! If you give the command "SECURE THE BUILDING", here is what the different services would do: The NAVY would turn out the lights and lock the doors. The ARMY would surround the building with defensive fortifications, tanks and concertina wire. The MARINE CORPS would assault the building, using overlapping fields of fire from all appropriate points on the perimeter. The AIR FORCE would take out a three-year lease with an option to buy the building.
I say join the AirForce or Navy. I was in the Army for 6yrs as a 12B Combat Engineer on a Light Infantry Unit. With all the Road Marches we did with a 100lbs+ of gear and Air Assault missions my knees are all screwed up. I have to fight the VA to get Compensation. I took 2yrs for the VA to approve. While I have been suffering for years. It was fun when you are still young but your body will pay for it later.
Jerome McCarthy You joke now but let’s see when you’re floating lost at sea and you’re praying for the Coast Guard to be coming over the horizon. We also have the best snipers ;)
Got Ducks? F22 raptor is such a rarity nowadays no one flies them anymore. Sad they had to stop manufacturing it despite it being the absolute dominating death machine. Instead they make these shitty 2x more expensive F-35 lightning bullshits with astronomical repair costs
I was in the Air Force (1978-82). I always had a good attitude because I knew that I had it good. I worked on aircraft, ate at a chow hall and slept in a barracks. Our lives weren't as luxurious as some jokingly make it out to be, but it wasn't nearly as difficult as it was for many other service members. They have my utmost respect.
❤ I got out of the Army in 2017 for the Air Force National guard, thinking the Air Force would be what everyone says it is. I then took a federal GS position on an AD AF base. After 8 years of working with the AF, I see the truth: The AF is not professional and the people are self serving first. It has weak leadership. The NCOs are just older guys, they are not role models, they don’t lead from the front. There are no SOPs so everyone just BS’s and writes themselves good performance reviews. The Air Force brags the most but they don’t back it up. If you just want the benefits and an easy time go AF. If you want brotherhood and pride, choose anything else.
if you've got something to prove: marines if you've got someone waiting for you: navy if you've got somewhere you wanna go: army if you've got somewhere to sit: air force
Honestly with nearly 8 years in, the majority of nerds I found were in the navy and roughly an equal amount of nerds in the army as the air force. Was USAF Power production (kind of a good mix of diesel mechanic and electrician with a really odd amount of HVAC thrown in eventhough there's an AFSC for that...)
Hey man I'm in high school thinking of joining the marines. It seems to align with me the most out of all the branches and I've had my eyes set on the military for a little bit now. You got any advice or anything you want to say? I stay fit but I got to work more on my cardio
@@sethq1478 have a positive mindset cause 90% of the time it always go south, have a thick skin cause people will get mad at you just being the new guy, run and run and do alot of body weight exercises cause bootcamp its basically a cardio sesh, dont be afraid to ask questions even if its dumb, ask yourself again cause the marine corp is physically, mentally and emotionally demanding if this is truly what you want then dive in head on. Also I'm basing this with my personal experience as a crew chief for the AAV, it could be worst for other mos or better in my opinion. All I know for certain, you will form the best of friends out there.
@@jvcastillo7646 Hey man I appreciate the response. I'd say I have a positive mindset throughout anything and that I have thick skin and that I don't get like upset at people trying to get personal with me. I do a lot of body weight exercises and I'm pretty good at them but I've heard the military has you run a lot so I'm going to work on that. I understand the marine corp is physically, mentally, and emotionally demanding which is partly why I want to join it over the other branches that people say are easier and better to join. I just looked up what an AAV is do those things go under water for a good distance like a submarine? I don't know the MOS too much and the only one I know so far is infantry which I guess I'd like to do. Could you tell me more about what a MARSOC is? I look forward to it though man and I'll embrace the good and the bad I really do appreciate the reply.
@@sethq1478 so our job is to bring the infantry to the ground using the navy's ship and support them with transportation and cover. Marsoc is really tough, like those dudes are mentally hardcore to the nail. Practice running 3 miles, in less than 18 minutes, do 20 or more pull ups, and do an easy 100 crunches, so your unit can send you there. However the people in my unit that tried fail marsoc, even if they are the fittest cause weren't selected due to having a non team personality. Also you cant try out marsoc till your about to finish your first enlistment. I suggest looking up recon, if your up to the challenge, then if you made that, then you can probably be good for marsoc. Since you can be recon on your first enlistment. Lastly, recon is the hardest school after bootcamp from what I've heard so try to prepare as much as you can.
@@jvcastillo7646 Wow man thank you for all the information on Marsoc and Recon. I'm not currently enlisted but when I become of age I plan to enlist in the marines. The reason for me asking about Marsoc is because I heard there is no point in becoming an infantry for the Marines during non-war times and that Marsoc is what gets you deployed for combat. I've recently heard of the term Marine Raider does that also get you deployed for combat like overseas or something? If so is it more or less difficult than Marsoc? Thanks for the info I'll look up more about Recon

Join the marines! You get to experience the thrill of travel! Deep personal trauma! Defy science by having a superiority complex AND an inferiority complex at the same time!
As a retired Air Force Master Sergeant, let me give you one piece of advice. Find out somebody who knows CURRENT information. You would be surprised at how many well-meaning people give advice that is out of date & obsolete. Also be careful of a few other things: branches of service vary differently based on the job that you're doing. Security forces in the Air Force can be very different from Army military police. Also some people are giving you advice based on what part of the world they were stationed at. Somebody who spent their entire career in Europe, is going to give you a different perspective than someone who was stationed in East Asia most of their career. Just some food for thought.
Wes Takahashi I agree, so for a domestic terrorist, white separatist or just someone who wants to fight internal tyranny, 11b with RASP contract would be best. Assuming fucking command doesn’t gank your contract. I would stay away from USMC anything because you spend more time with cleaning than with a rifle. Yeah I will clean my issued arms, uniform and myself but don’t want to spend all day sweeping the floor and all those fuck fuck games.
Someone stationed in Japan for 5 years: the navy’s great, I’m traveling overseas and get extra pay for it. I love the navy! Me stationed in Norfolk for 5 years: I should’ve picked a different branch
Consider the Coast Guard. I have been in for 14 years. We deploy to many vacation destinations, and we make a serious different at home. However, we do deploy all over the world. But usually people are happy to see us. Also, we usually have a great work life balance unless your on a ship, which is still a great situation compared to the many other deployments as your port calls tend to be central America, and the Caribbean.
Planning on enlisting once I graduate. I visited Cape May a few days ago with my dad (CG veteran), met a few current Coasties and unless something big changes in my life, that's where I'm headed
I would even go further and say everyone who served in the military of their country. I think everyone who did either compulsory national service or signed up voluntarily for some years of service deserves the same respect everywhere and anytime no matter who he served for!
I agree, for the most part. Let's say someone joins the military, never goes into combat (so he has no PTSD), but then once retiring, he kills his family and goes out on a murder spree after that? Or what if the former serviceman is a racist, sexist, wifebeater that beats his kids as well and does nothing but be a douche to everyone and sit on his ass all day... 😂😂😂 Extremely hypothetical situations, I know, but to say EVERYONE who has served immediately deserves respect is a bit of a stretch. Sure possibly putting your life in danger for all of us to live freely is highly respectable, but that doesn't mean you're free of judgment and that from now on, your actions have no impact on your respect since you've served. I think the majority of military are good people, but I'm 100 percent sure there's a itty-bitty, small minority in every military that are pricks lol.
I knew I would see this comment, so many people I’ve talked to told me to join airforce instead of the army, and of course I went to 6 recruiters who all told me to join the Army.
Do yourself a long term favor... go Navy, Coast Guard, or Airforce. Less instances of PTSD more support. I love the army and marines but they dont treat our boys well enough when they get out.
I was AF. Mostly, I agree with you. I had 2 long deployments (Honduras and Saudi Arabia). If you are married, with a family, the Navy will separate you from your family for long periods.
My dad always tells me what his grandpa told him If you like boats then join the navy If you want to fly on planes then join the airforce If you want to dig wells and hold little kids hands as you help fix their houses then join the army If you want to kill and kill fast then you becom marine He was an old marine
That actually makes the Army sound better than most Army guys make it sound. The Army guys tend to focus on getting cucked, getting raped, and getting screwed out of enlistment bonuses.
Can confirm: Never did morning PT in the Air Force after basic training. Never was afforded time to do it either. 12 hour days, 6 days a week, 52 weeks of the year. Though, I can say that 99% of the Air Force isn't into the combat missions and still doesn't ever do morning PT. I think a lot of my friends in regular jobs wound up doing PT in the afternoon as part of their duty day.
I served in The US Army and The USMC. I know it’s the individual who makes his or her own destiny. All of our services offer good opportunities. Support our troops always. 🇺🇸
@@ctown6592 Each has their ups and downs. Each has their specified mission. They are both the best at what they do. If you want to see more combat and front line fighting, that's the Army. If you want to spearhead strategic targets, that's the Marines. Either branch can interchange but that's their purpose in a nutshell. During garrison.. it's the same shit and can be dumb as fuck. Whoever claims which one is better or not is completely irrelevant and is based on bias. End of the day it's literally the same thing, with a different name and mission. Research the branch, your likes and dislikes, opportunities, and compare and join the one you like the most. I joined the Army for ABN, and career opportunities. We all have our reasons. @smartcookie you just cant walk into the Navy and be a seal day 1 lol. Its physically demanding, and mentally and have to have a high aptitude of intelligence. That's any SO or SF. To answer your question: The Army sees the most. You wont see much in any branch right now. The war is over and any deployment really is just peacekeeping.
The space force is just the air forces control over satellites transferred to it's own branch. There wont be any space marines or anything sci fi like that.
I joined the Marines, and this video is pretty spot on. I would say Army has the longest deployments in combat zones. My deployment was about 8 months long in Afghanistan, which was long for the USMC (usually we deploy 6 months and come home), but Army soldiers I worked with have been there for almost a year and a half. Shit sucks!
You forgot about the food situation. Even back in the 60's, while I was in the Army, I was stationed on an Air Force Base. The food was like night and day. Army chow was edible, lol. The Air Force Mess was like a 5 star restaurant. And that was back in the 60's.
Carson Kouts Yes, they serve over easy eggs, baked beans, and fried bread for breakfast, ground beef and mashed potatoes, grilled sausages, and steak and kidney pies for lunch and dinner with salt, pepper, and malt vinegar for seasonings. Air Force combat vet here. I can’t tell you how many other service members i run into saying they wish they joined the AF. I’m happy with my choice...don’t much like my deployment tempo but that’s the job i picked
@@JohnOfJohns Tempo is the speed or pace of a given piece. In classical music, tempo is typically indicated with an instruction at the start of a piece (often using conventional Italian terms) and is usually measured in beats per minute (or bpm). In modern classical compositions, a "metronome mark" in beats per minute may supplement or replace the normal tempo marking, while in modern genres like electronic dance music, tempo will typically simply be stated in bpm.
Joined the AF 4 years ago, best thing I did.....don't regret it at all........travel frequently because of my mission and AFSC. Visited many places and have many good stories, good hotels and awesome food.......bought a Porsche after joining / super happy overall (my 2 cents)
I'm a marine myself, but i wouldn't tell anyone which branch to join. However i do believe that the military is a good starting point for young people. It can show you how to deal with people from different backgrounds, and places. It can also help to prepare you for some of lifes toughest challenges, give you training in many diffèrent fields, and many other things. However i suggest you finish your education, and get some college behind you. Maybe even some rotc, its better to start off as an officer, rather than enlisted, put it this way. Better to start off as middle management than a janitor.
hard to cause college is immensely harder than highschool. debating on taking the asfab to see what i qualify for. i have some rotc under my belt from highschool
@lowclassgameryt823f your joining after high school. Definitely will help finding a job in the future. Giving you some sort of background when you go into college. Again not sure if your going full time Marine or Marine Reserve.
A couple of the reasons I joined the Navy were: 1) You take your house with you every where you go and.... 2) When you go on a deployment you don't have to dig a hole to take a crap in.
Patriotic American same, I just can’t decide whether to join the Air Force or the Navy at least I have the rest of high school to figure it out and I also need to get in shape 😂
Very well put together video. I’m now 23yrs in the Air Force and have a son that’s in the army and another thinking about the Marines. I told them I don’t care what branch you join as long you’re joining for YOUR reason not someone else’s opinion or reason. I will be hanging up this uniform in 4 more years and I can say I wouldn’t have traded my military Air Force life for nothing in the world.
Hope your sons don't regret their choices. The grass may not be completely green in the Air Force but it definitely appears to be less brown. There have definitely been times where I wish I had have listened and joined the Air Force instead of the Army. My first time questioning my decision to join Army came when I was in AIT. We had joint training with the other branches, and when we were done with classes, we had to stand in formation and wait until our company sergeants came to get us to march us back to the company barracks. The sergeants came when THEY were ready and at times we would have to wait well over an hour. We had trainees assigned as platoon guides but they were not allowed to march us. Meanwhile we saw how the Air Force trainees were allowed to be marched by their platoon guides *IMMEDIATELY* when they were done with classes and they did not have to wait for their sergeants like us Army trainees did. Then imagine my shock when I realized how unmarried Army enlisted are not allowed to move out the barracks until they reach E6 (some cases E5), while unmarried Air Force enlisted are allowed to move out dorms at E4 (some cases even E3). And there are also times I wish I had have listened and joined Air Force while I'm stuck in a hot motorpool all day emptying and repacking the same connexes that we just did yesterday (I've had Air Force people tell me that they indeed do layout inventories.......but only a few times a year compared to so many soldiers who do several motorpool connex layouts several times a month or even several times a week). Same for when I'm stuck in the field without a shower for three weeks at a time while defecating in porter potties that are filled with feces and aren't cleaned for long periods of time and I'm trying to starve myself in the field to see if I could defecate less often so I won't have to use those filthy porter potties. Even with PT, where we have to do the exact same "PRT" exercises in the exact same order every duty day makes me with I had have joined Air Force where I would probably be doing group PT less often and be working out on my own more (I had an Air Force E6 tell me he'd been in Air Force for ten years and hasn't done organized group PT in eight years. I absolutely love to work out but I despise Army's "PRT")
They actually are the best military family you could ever ask for. Like the whole thing about the sniper who was picking off marines in a unit. Once they killed him, the other marines urinated on his body
As an 100% medically retired Sgt from the US Army, I would still love to serve and/or serve in EACH branch of the Military, because in my eyes each teach you a lot of different and much needed training and information. Keep pushing and grinding brothers and sisters, it’s definitely worth it. This retired LTC knows EXACTLY what he is talking about and says. Thank you for your service sir! 💯
Coming from the Marine Infantry side of the house, the operations tempo is really high. We do a lot of training in an Infantry Battalion. I honestly found it more relaxing during a deployment than the work up for a deployment. It was hard for some to organize personal affairs at the same time staying abreast with training evolutions. Then again, I’m not a combat vet and never been to a combat zone. Great video btw!
The army really has one god awful soldier for every quality soldier. For every private that wants to do well and advance themselves there's a shitbag who makes life harder for everyone around them. For every NCO that treats berating and harassing the lower enlisted as their true MOS, you got someone who truly cares and wants to show why they're proud to be in the army. It is what it is.
My son joined the AF in Sept 2008. He did a tour in Kandahar Afghanistan in 2012 with a Navy mash unit. 2015 he applied for OTS and was promoted from SSgt to 2nd Lieutenant in April 2016. March 2018 he was promoted to 1st Lieutenant on my birthday. He just called and told me he was promoted to Captain effective 23 March 2020. I could not be happier, looks like the AF is working out for him.
This hurts me so much. When I was 5, I really wanted to be an airforce pilot but due to my mild color blind deficiency, it was impossible for me to go there. Now in the 2nd year of med school, I still cannot forget about my shocking moment.
I am vary Proud of all branches of military. They are all sacrificing there time and life's for there country..THANKS TO YOU ALL FOR YOUR WONDERFUL JOB AND GOD BLESS YOU EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU
I was in the Air Force. I was a aircraft maintainer. It wasn’t nearly as glamorous as people make it out to be. We worked very long hours all around the clock, in all kinds of weather. Rain, snow, heat, cold. I don’t think the branch matters as much as the job, and that determines what your life will be like.
When my dad was 19, he did Aircraft maintenance for a year or so, he says its the worst and should be avoided too. But, I’m sure you’ll learn a lot from it too
How was your process with the recruiter and MEPS? I’m going to talk with a recruiter this summer. I’m a junior in college and have always wanted to be in the navy but decided on college. Any tips?
Nick Kalmes In terms of the Recruiter, not really cuz I don’t know what type you’ll have. Mine have been so slow with handling everything that the process took longer than expected. A tip I’ll give you about job choice is, be open to everything, because chances are a job you may really want won’t be available. They’ll push you to be a Nuke if you score high enough, and that’s what I’m going in as even though it wasn’t my first choice. Good luck!
I'm a retired SEABEE, Navy Combat Engineer. I've deployed with the Marines' 26th MEU, and the Army's Big Red 1. Both of them are highly capable fighters. It was an honor serving with them. Perhaps you could enlighten us, by producing a video about Combat Engineer, across all 4 branches, since the Coast guard doesn't have any.
J Lopezescobar: We don't have the same group as SeaBee's but our DC's pretty much do the same thing. I've seen them build buildings, fabricate just about anything. I saw one operate a backhoe like a pro. But, we've never really needed a construction crew to do our jobs. Had an uncle who was a retired CPO and a SEABEE. Spent most of his life either deployed or in Gulf Port (this was during the 60's and 70's. About to move down there myself. Cheers
I’m from Iraq, when the US army invaded my country, I used to talk with soldiers, the marines were friendly and they knew how to deal with people, I liked their professionalism, moreover, they wanted to avoid any conflicts, problems started happening when the US replaced the marines with the army, they had no experience in dealing with people they were so aggressive and had no respect, and to be honest black soldiers were worse than all other، I’m not racist and I like black people but that was the truth, maybe because of their harsh life back in the US.
Let me pick one small bone here. In the Navy ( at least the 8yrs I served) if you are attached to a ship, you'll deploy every 2 yrs like clock work. Deployments are only 6 to 9 months, but when you add pre deployment work ups, it translates to a lot of time a way. This tempo is regardless of any active conflicts. I'd say, that's a pretty high tempo, and one only beat by those in special operations.
Ace Adventurer literally no one in the history of anyone who has served will say army is the best. Nobody cares about that branch enough to give it a nick name lmfao

You should have put more information about the US Coast Guard. Yes they fall under the Department of Homeland Security but they are a uniformed military branch. Their ranks mirror the USN. My favorite aspect of the USCG is you train for your daily job for the most part. There is a wide rang of mission they cover from Law Enforcement, and Search and Rescue to just name a couple. They have units all over the US but you can be deployed over seas. Any one looking into military service should at least look into the USCG.
@@nickasf Not to mention, it's very very difficult to get in the CG. It's a small service. They can afford to be very picky. You won't do just one job but I feel some of the other branches (Navy) has learned (by watching the CG) that a person can do more than one job. As a Radioman, at sea, your job was nothing like it would be if you were at a land based unit. Or even a larger or smaller ship, the job was different. So, you best be a quick learner, fast on your feet, and can actually think for yourself with positive results.
@@tc1uscg65 We all fulfill multiple roles. We don't have the numbers to do just one thing. (You can have the same rate between cg and navy, and the navy guy won't know how to do half the stuff cg does. In reality, that's how most of it should be.)
I feel like most soldiers join the branch your family is associated in the most, if your dad siblings and grandad was in the Army, it most likely where you're headed.
Liike he said they roll with Homeland Security while the others are with the Department of Defense so it's just a difference of mission. USCG mainly patrols US waters while the others are fighting forces
@@LZRxHWK I can't change stupid...5. "THE COAST GUARD IS NOT PART OF THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE." The United States Coast Guard is the only branch of MILITARY service that doesn't belong to the Defense Department. Rather, it is an arm of the Department of Homeland Security. So the Defense.GOV website(which stands for government) says otherwise. Which you gonna trust, a government website or your usual Wikipedia website? The USCG is military. You typical Marines are always talkin shit on all the other branches, I'd like to see you raid a beach with no Navy ship fire support.
Good choice its going to suck at times you will have a lot of responsibility placed on you at first but it will help you mature faster. Trust me you will have it better than you think. Dont underestimate bootcamp either its not a cakewalk, prepare in advance.
The branch is important but also the job (MOS/Rate) is very important. For example one can join the Army and work as a gas pumper (MOS 92F) or work in the laundromat (MOS 92S); and one can join the US Navy and be a SEAL. This is why you must select your job carefully.
I joined the Navy because I would always get a hot meal , clean sheets to sleep on and travel for free to many foreign lands ….in addition to free technical school ...
Generally the air force gets treated the best, because many jobs transfer to well paying civilian jobs, and require graduate school, so the military wants to keep them happy and in the air force.
I'm looking at getting a job with psychology in the military, and the only branch that has the type of psychology I'm interested in is the air force, and it's the only branch where you need a master's degree or higher for many officer jobs, with the exception of doctors, lawyers and therapists in the rest of the military
Some of these comments are bias, and propaganda pride lol. Here is the real missions in a nutshell. Army: Main body invasion force. They do the most front line fighting and airfield seizures. Marines: spearhead strategic targets and raids. (Note the Army and Marines can interchange roles depending location, mission and availability.) Airforce: control the air, transport of equipment and personnel and support ground troops. Navy: control the seas, ports, beachheads, and transfer of equipment and personnel to support ground troops. Each branch has its pros and cons to them. This is something you got to figure out on your own. Your mind, skillset, what you are after, who you are as a person. I served in the Army and USMC. Let me tell you the cons of these... everyone in the USMC walks around like a stick is in their ass. The Army takes UCMJ too seriously. Other than that its pretty much the same. The other 2 branches I can not speak for, because I have not served in them.
That’s actually slightly incorrect the USMC is the main invasion offensive force. The army is supposed to be used as a larger body defensive force to maintain the offensive advance
@@hadbro24 it really depends on what your definition of invasion is. The Army is Larger, and when they come in is still the invading phase, hence why he said "main body", and the Marines are meant to come in and get a foothold so the Army can set up shop. Hence why he said "spearhead strategic targets". The Army sends more Soldiers to deployment areas, then Marines send Marines, and the Army is not solely used defensively. Again really depends on what the definition of invasion is.
@@Usmcto That's straight bullshit. You took to much koolaid. You obviously have no clue how branches operate, and even your own. Go read some history, books and purpose of each one. To many of you dumbshits in the corps, that's one reason I left for the Army outside of wanting to be ABN and career advancement as an infantryman. The delusion is real with some of you, and the high but fragile egos. I'd be happy to provide you links and books to help educate you. Plus my own experiences in both. The shit you spouted only works on boots and uneducated civilians who dont know what branch to choose. It's okay to be prideful. I am too. Thing is when it goes to lies and bullshit, that's a problem.
As a Marine, I will say that the Coast Guard is DRASTICALLY UNDERATED in many aspects. The duty stations are nearly ALL on the coastline (inland Great Lakes or Ocean) which tend to be beautiful places to live -- IMO. While the mission set on a daily basis is truly real world, dangerous 24/7. The work cycle is your train-up period. Pretty challenging and demanding. If I had a son, I would push him to join & try-out for the rescue swimmer pipeline.
There are only 2 branches of the US military: The Army & The Navy. The Marines are a cult The Air-Force is a corporation. The CoastGuard is the CoastGuard.
@@jaedenmittenthal5342 - "toughest?" "best?" What does that even mean?? Both words you mentioned are very subjective! Don't think that just because the Marines basic (don't call it "boot," it's basic training) is the longest, doesn't mean that every Marine is "tough," it just means they went through a 13 week basic training!! Hell...my cousin just left the Corps after 4 years, and he's hardly "tough!" He's 5'6," and 140 pounds! Hahaha. I'd crush him! Anyway...as far as I'm concerned...lets stop all the comparisons! I respect anyone that has the balls to serve, regardless of branch or job!!
You have to remember that the Air Force was part of the Army prior to 1947! First it was the Signal Corps, Army Air Corps, Army Air Forces! The Air Force controls two thirds of our nations nuclear deterance, and the Navy controls the other! The Air Force has more aircraft than any other branch, and more than the Navy and Marines combined! Why do you think the Air Force is it's own branch?? Air power was getting too big for the Army!! There needed to be a branch that specializes in air power (superiority)!
David Kelly Unless you’re physically fit and have some basic knowledge of fighting I’m not 100% sure you could crush your cousin unless he’s just really weak
A few comments. First off - one of the things about the Coast Guard - is that they are doing their REAL job all the time. The other services are usually training for their real job. Once a military unit is doing it's real job - a lot of the petty bull shit designed to maintain discipline is dispensed with. Think about that. Mostly this was fairly accurate. The Air Force and Navy predominantly fight with machines. The machines the Air Force uses - are on average - of a higher level of technology than the ones the Navy uses. This is not to say that the Navy doesn't have high tech machines - it does - it's just that the Navy has a lot more lower technology machines than the Air Force. The Army and Marines fight with their bodies. They have machines and the Army has more of them - but still - the bodies of their service members are very, very close to that action - even in the machines they have. On Quality of Life - the Air Force is hands down the best. The equipment they use is all very expensive and that means it's easier for some of that money to get spent on making peoples lives easier - and the Air Force does that. If you are looking to go into a service for YOUR benefit - if you can get into a high tech job in the Air Force - that is the way to go. The Navy is next but - if you get put on a ship - those are NOT cruise ships. Those ships are weapons systems - or - there to support ships that are weapons systems. Crew Comfort is of a higher consideration now than it was - but - some of it can be miserable. I did not spend a lot of time on ships - but - the berthing compartments I saw were either Ice Boxes (where the air conditioning worked really well) or Ovens (where the air conditioning didn't work so well). When you are on a ship - it is out in the middle of the Ocean (or it might as well be) and you cannot get off that ship in a casual manner. The kids on those ships work their asses off. When you are on a ship - you are "on call" 24 hours a day. "Your Space" may consist of a bunk and a wall locker - and that's it. The bunks are often stacked like six high and you have to climb up the other bunks to get to yours. The laundry will turn all your clothes gray. Being sick on board ship is not fun. One thing about the Navy though - is that they alternate between Sea Duty and Shore Duty - or everyone would quit. When on Shore Duty - you have a job some where and often work 9-5 hours (unlike on a ship) and can go home every night. Food - this is going to be dependent on the specific place you are at. One place could be great - another could be terrible. I've never eaten Air Force or Army food. I've never heard anyone ever complain about Air Force Food. Navy food is pretty good. The cooks in the Navy are very proud of what they do - and they do a good job. I've eaten in a number of Marine Corp mess halls ... and ... outside of boot camp - which is in a special category - none of them were "good". I ate in one mess hall where they lost their cook ... so they do like the military does and just grabbed somebody and said "Now - you're a cook". I suppose the guy was doing the best he could - but the food was so bad I threw it up one morning. We were all privates and you had guys spending their whole pay checks at the little exchange and living off of cup cakes and such. Most people did not eat in the mess hall - so - a Captain had us all fall in and ordered us to march through chow. He said we didn't have to eat it - but we had to sign the list or they couldn't get any money to buy any more food. After that it got better. I was at another base - which had Marines, Navy and Coast Guard personnel - and so had a cook from each. The food there was great. The one time I had a problem there - was when the Officers had a "Dining In" where they all wore their cummerbunds and such and spent to much money on it - so ... they had to use our mess funds to make up for that. The cooks got a good buy on eggs and we ate eggs for most of our meals for the next three weeks - until they got the funds for the next months food. These guys did as good a job as you could. They'd fix those eggs any way you wanted them ... but ... after a while ... I was really sick of eggs. All that said - it was all a lot better than eating C-Rations out of a Can ... Pork and Lima Beans ... God I hated that. Pride. You'll find few people who are as proud of being in their service as you will with the Marines. They have a hard life - and they know it - and they are proud of it. You don't go in the Marines for YOUR benefit. You go to serve your country - and that is what you are going to do. If you look at some of the recruiting ads for the other services - you will see all the benefits they promise you (which you may or may not really get ...) but the recruiting ads for the Marines are - that you will BE a Marine. Now - that said - there are jobs in all the other services where the people doing those jobs are justifiably proud of what they do but these are jobs within the service - not the service as a whole. So - the amount of pride people feel within the other services varies depending on what they do. In any case - service in the Military is not something that is a joy ride. Some things are fun - but that's not what you spend most of your time doing. It is not an easy life - and you can't just quit any time you want. If you get fed up with your boss on the outside - you can always just quit. Not so in the military. You sign on for a specific period of time - and you will serve that time unless something bad happens one way or the other. The biggest thing you get out of this - is the knowledge that you did something all those non-vets haven't. You put the welfare of your nation above your own. What price can you put on self respect? .

Let’s compare them by their stereotypical relationships

Hard to stay straight in the Navy

How to Tell the Difference Between the Branches of the US Armed Forces!
If you give the command "SECURE THE BUILDING", here is what the different services would do:
The NAVY would turn out the lights and lock the doors.

IN THE END EVERY PERSON IN THE UNITED STATES MILITARY DESERVES RESPECT.. PERIOD
Eh.
I would even go further and say everyone who served in the military of their country. I think everyone who did either compulsory national service or signed up voluntarily for some years of service deserves the same respect everywhere and anytime no matter who he served for!
true, but it's fun to pick on airforce
Air Force personnel that aren’t CCT or PJs come to mind.

Coming from the Marine Infantry side of the house, the operations tempo is really high. We do a lot of training in an Infantry Battalion.

Some of these comments are bias, and propaganda pride lol. Here is the real missions in a nutshell.
Army: Main body invasion force. They do the most front line fighting and airfield seizures.
Marines: spearhead strategic targets and raids.
(Note the Army and Marines can interchange roles depending location, mission and availability.)
Airforce: control the air, transport of equipment and personnel and support ground troops.
Invictum thank you for telling it like it is, I’m sick of these idiot jokers who comment stupidity on here. I’m enlisted in the US Army. HOOAH!!
Invictum you’re wrong we are the first to fight that’s why we have the ingest and toughest training we are also known as America’s 911
The Marines are a cult
The Air-Force is a corporation.
The CoastGuard is the CoastGuard.
Marines are the toughest there are and the best by far
The Air Force is basically useless, the navy has it’s own air force
David Kelly Unless you’re physically fit and have some basic knowledge of fighting I’m not 100% sure you could crush your cousin unless he’s just really weak
When I was a kid, everyone called me “Wing-Nut.” So naturally I went Chair Force.
silly question, but do you regret doing air force (work smarter not harder) instead of army/marines (work harder, not smarter)?
golfery no, loved the USAF. You can be a war fighter in the AF
What price can you put on self respect?
.
Thanks!
That was a great break down!! 👍
Thanks man!
Damn, well written.
Well said.
I like how we just left out the Coast Guard completely
They're considered homeland security. As a Navy vet, I love coasties
As an army soldier I just gotta say every branch of the military is great follow whatever feels right to you
