This is so dope. I’ve been photographing skateboarding for a while now and I’m always so excited to visit a new city and stop by the local shop to see where the locals hang out.
What a great watch! Bringing back those nostalgic moments when I was a grommet frequenting my local skate shop. I wish there was more of a community connection/camaraderie in skate shops and the streets here in Melbourne - a lot of skaters are snobs and stick to their own cliques
I feel like that's an issue big cities can face, rather than smaller ones. Cities where there are enough people to have multiples crews. I've experienced the same within the underground hardcore punk scene where my roots are (along with skateboarding) and felt it was pretty similar to the skate scene.
I remember hanging out at the skateshop all day playing inn the parking lot asking for stickers the vibe there really shaped my childhood rip good times davenport iowa
I’m from Heidelberg like the dude in the video! We had the dopest skateshop called „skate express“! Sadly during covid it closed and now theres there is only a „chain-shop“! So sad! I loved growing up going there! Shaped me so much! So important! 🛹❤️
Skateshops are the heart and soul of a local skate community, full stop. Also, the Heart book is great, it’s on my coffee table rn ♥️

Thia was produced very well. Great video

Awesome! Long live the art & skate-type skate shops! Community, not greed - hard to maintain a skate shop on these principles though (?)
