140 British bus & coach photos (inc classic Bedford OB, Foden, Leyland, Dennis, AEC, Bristol ++)

Over 140 photos ft. (mainly British) vintage & classic buses, coaches & char-a-bancs make up this nostalgic look back at public transport from the 1920s and 1930s, through the post-war 1950s and into the 1970s. Double-decker buses, single-decker coaches, one or two minibuses, and lots of half-cab coaches, are all to be found in this collection of transport photos.
The vehicles were photographed at shows and on road runs over the last few years, mixed in also are a small number of older, b&w, photos, all representing the typical bus and coach options available to operators in those eras.
Included are gems from makers such as Bedford (including the wonderful Duple-bodied Bedford OB coaches), Leyland, Foden, Dennis, Ford, AEC, Albion, Daimler, Commer, Crossley, Guy, Maudslay, Vulcan and a huge collection of Bristols, plus a handful of foreign interlopers from the likes of Dodge and REO, plus a smattering of scanned bus and coach memorabilia from the 1930s - 1950s.
I doth my cap to all the preservationists who keep these fine old vehicles running. Old lorries are a big enough undertaking to restore, but to restore one of the vehicles shown, which usually have extensive interior fittings and upholstery which all has to be brought back to life, is even more of an undertaking, so I salute you all.

Bedford OB.
Went to school on one from 1952 to about 1956. It was a regular service bus with the same ancient driver every day. I think he owned the bus but it stopped running whilst I was still at school. I think he may have retired or died - hopefully not at the wheel!
I always tried to catch that one instead of the Corporation bus because it was different and I've always loved the unusual.

AEC, Atkinson, Bedford, Bristol, Crossley, Daimler, Foden, Guy, Leyland, Thames. All companies that no longer exist. Had to mute the horrible sound.

My favorites - the RF as a passenger in the 50's No 355 in Herts and a Royal Blue type coach called The Eastlander - Ipswich to Cheltenham (not sure of the make)
