LOVE ❤ it Carl ❗ Thx 🙏 For those us who for security reasons "must" live in the "native apple system" these are invaluable videos 😊
You're welcome.
Thanks Carl. Please continue
Will do, Malcolm.
Hey Carl, looking forward to this new series. I’ve recently gone through your last one and it’s actually working! I even made been experimenting with Shortcuts and have a shortcut that triggers the whole 2+8 script that puts your answers into the appropriate lists in Reminders! Happy to share if you would find that helpful for folks 😊
Hi Aaron, that would be fantastic! You can send it over to carl@carlpullein.com
@@Carl_Pullein Will do! I'm pretty proud of it!
Carl: I am experimenting with using the "sort" by priority function in lists so I can physically bring to the top of each list the more pressing goals. Still do not have my arms around it al yet but LOVE the fact you can manually sort lists too. I believe this will help me better "prioritize" what I need to get done in each different discreet project. I am quite surprised that I find myself now using "apple reminders" for projects a lot more than "apple notes." My notes are becoming more of the intense archives and outlines of projects too. I am sure you will find even better ways to do all of this 😊
I'm playing around with a number of ideas at the moment. Those should be coming out soon.
@@Carl_Pullein Carl: Just noticed something too. Of course, you can auto-rank reminders by priority, BUT then on top of that, you can further manually "move around" even the same priority-level tasks, for even further more refined prioritization ! This app is amazing ❤
@@LJ-jq8og It's definitely got a lot of helpful features.
Thanks for the video can you elaborate a bit more why you suggested to create a Inbox list? Thanks!
It makes working with Siri easier and gives you a place to collect stuff that hasn't been processed yet. "Hey Siri, add buy some new running shoes to my inbox list"
Thanks, Carl, this series is awesome! My question is: is it possible to edit the date a task was completed? Eg. I completed a task yesterday but did not get around to marking it as completed until a different day later in my week.
Not that I am aware of. All you need to do is check it off the next day. It won't change anything in your system.
Carl, do feel Reminders could replace Todoist soon, or… do you use Reminders at all in conjunction with Todoist?
Not for me. Todoist works, it's not broken, and I've been using it for over eight years. I know it inside out.
@@Carl_Pullein I have the same feeling
Hi Carl, another great video. I need to create a monthly to do list of 14 tasks. I will be checking items off as i complete them throughout the month. I guess you could call it a rolling to do list, which on any given day will show my completed tasks, on the list, from previous days in the month, as well as the tasks which are still outstanding. Is this possible in reminders? Any help appreciated.
Hi Andy, at the moment, I far as I know showing completed tasks is not going to be possible. However, that might change in the next week or two when we get the new OS updates.
@@Carl_Pullein thank you Carl have a great day.
Carl did Todoist change the formula for creating links in the task name?
Hi Steven, not that I'm aware of. It's still [task description](URL]
Might have to start using it, on the iPad, so that my more mundane tasks don't clog up Todoist! 🤔
That's the way I use it in my date to day life.
Carl, I think you use Todoist only? Why you prefer it over apple reminders? I feel it’s the same
Hahaha, I would become frustrated with Reminders very quickly. It does have the basics, but it's not as smooth or as well organised as Todoist.
Hi. iPhone user with a PC here. I understand that Reminders and Notes are Apple apps. Is there a way to use them on a PC? Thx
There is, but it's not a pleasant experience. Go to icloud.com and log in with your Apple ID.
What is the android equivalent?
Google?
I don't know. I don't use Android. Sorry.
How can you use SIRI to put a.task in Reminders. I can’t seem to get her to put it in the right spot.
You can say... "Hey Siri, add XXX to my XXX list"
@@Carl_Pullein Do you have any information on Apple mail? I noticed when you tried to use the snooze or remind me function on one of the emails. It sets it up to remind you of the email at that time however, it does not make the email disappear out of your inbox. I’ve used other email programs like Spark and when you use their snooze function, it disappears out of your inbox until that day and time. Do you know if Apple mail as that set up? Can you send me a link for your newest info?
@@Carl_Pullein I am very interested in your apple system set up. Long time apple fan but I’m using Things now and Spark but want to be a loyalist and do all things Apple
@@kevinwellscoaching Hi Kevin, ooh, that's something I haven't tried. Snoozing emails has never appealed to me. It's like setting dates for tasks and then resetting them over and over again.
After watching this series the other video you did is a much simpler way to use reminders for me.
ua-cam.com/video/Wo5SvQ7oabI/v-deo.html
Ah, that's the key. Finding the best way for you.
@@Carl_Pullein yes that’s the simplest for me. But there’s one flaw I’m trying to solve. I have future reminders flagged. So when I started my day today like you suggested I started out in Flagged. It shows ALL Flagged tasks present and future and makes it confusing.
@@MarcP5267 Ah, that actually a goo thing because to solve that problem you would need to do a daily planning session where you allocate your flags.
@@Carl_Pullein ok so don’t flag future reminders.
@@Carl_Pullein ok I did all my tasks today. I have a bunch of tasks for tomorrow. I unflagged future tasks.
So what you’re saying tomorrow when I look at my day I’ll flag the 2 that need attention?
Too much and too jerky hand and arm movement - very distracting
I'm sorry. That's an affliction I've had since birth. I'm doing my best.
@@Carl_Pullein Doc. Berg recommends a solution consisting of olive oil, cayenne pepper, apple cider vinegar, ground cloves and backing soda. Massage this into the scalp every evening to remedy alopecia. Cover the scalp with cling wrap to assist absorption and avoid staining pillows. Remarkably, this remedy is also helpful when used in lieu of toothpaste for daily brushing.
