    Plus he does this at a slow enough rate that we can do the movements with him at the same time. He’s a gold resource. He’s reached 186k viewers, students?

    4:00 the most important thing in siu nim tao = stay focus and mind at ease. from the eyes movement i can tell his mind not at peace/ease. no point learn only the outer form of siu nim tao, its most important power is inner chi/power of siu nim tao.

    • @kiwiresponse
      @kiwiresponse 3 роки тому +2

      I criticize your criticism. This is an arbitrary criticism. What your saying about inner chi/power and mind at peace/ease, these are the most fundamental concepts in wc, so you can use that at any level for any practitioner. If you're criticism had merit, it would pinpoint something much more substantial and relevant to a defined context

    Remember! Do not practice only 1 form. A form can help you explore many things in martial arts.
    Think of sports. There are techniques and strategies made to continue the flow of a rally, but in forms its all compact. You can categorize forms or divide them, so you can pick which form is good to learn for blocking(siu nim tao is a good one).
    Though, martial arts has sects, meaning they have their own practices and have flaws.
    So expect that the forms you learn can have a counter to the movement you make. The only way to lower your chances of losing is through experience, knowledge, and training!

    Especially when it comes to the information about mma fighters. Bruh, you learned tkd, judo, karate, and etc? No, you didnt learn it, you experienced it. If you were to learn a martial art, then it would be only that martial art, because you follow the rules, and HOW THEY practice. Add a different style to it, then it is no longer the same martial art. Thats why I think of MMA as a SINGLE martial art. A martial art that improves daily, a martial art that grew strong because it took and combined.

    @cleanyellowsock527 3 роки тому

    Siu Nim Tao is great, but if you learn it so you can apply it in mma or street fighting, (well) then chances are you might not be able to. Performing Siu Nim Tao is different from applying Siu Nim Tao. In MMA, a fighter can easily move past those blocks because you followed your muscle memory and you ended up doing less firm blocks or wrong blocks even. Since it has become the modern age, practicing has become much easier and better. I hope other masters and old practitioners could see what I am saying(even if they dont read this).
    Mma has become a martial art. The name sounds like its mixed martial art, but its the same as any other martial art. Coaches/Masters took references and took from other martial arts to make their own practice stronger.

      If you are drawn to the hand movements of the form then you completely misunderstand its purpose

    • @pawmcscratch
      @pawmcscratch 2 роки тому +1

      So that term Mixed Martial Arts. Wing chun is a martial art. Taking the best forms from stuff and discarding the rest is what Bruce Lee did to help create MMA. However MMA doesnt generally teach you to attack vulnerable parts like eyes throat and groin. Which multples parts of this does.

    • @cleanyellowsock527
      @cleanyellowsock527 2 роки тому

      @@pawmcscratch True, because in this age guns would be the better option for masses. It would be nice if things were settled without losing a life. Old martial arts are hard to practice since some of its parts are too dangerous to practice with someone else. Imagine almost stabbing your best friend's eye. Imagine trying to jab someone's eye, but you fail because lack of practice.

    • @cleanyellowsock527
      @cleanyellowsock527 2 роки тому

      In today's term, old martial arts have "dirty" moves, which modern practitioners aren't ready for. Fighting is sacred. Fighting is to clash. Let's be careful who we start a fight with

      This is the first form you learn in Wing Chun and its meant to be done slowly at first because it is the foundation of all the movements in the system. You need to learn to walk before you run. The movements are focused and deliberate, structure is key. Doing the movements hard and fast without it defeats the purpose of the system.

      what he is showing is the proper movements in slow motion. I took a long time learning this, now my movements are hard, sharp and focused. You have to learn the form properly first, then polish it as you go and learning the internals. WC is an art, a very scientific art. But you must learn the forms before you add in. I still go back and do the three forms very slow at times so I make sure I am doing them correctly.
