Yeah, card counting is definitely an art form but when we went to the blackjack ball and watched what those people could do during the skills portion of the competition, we were BLOWN AWAY seeing what some of these people could do.

Not stepping on your toes, you should avoid walking into the casino and just admire it form the sidewalk with that philosophy. To have the expectation of being successful 100% of the times is just not realistic if you understand statistics / odds.

My guess is that only about 1 out of 100 BJ players is capable of effectively counting cards. The casinos don't resort to shuffling after every deal exactly because they want us (the 99%) to continue to believe that we might be able to count cards. Good luck, everyone!

Counting cards doesn't just magically shift you to winning more hands. Card counting doesn't change the cards, it's all about how much in $ you win based on varied bets because of the count. Okay guys I was a dealer in Vegas for 25 years, let's see if I agree. We all know that there's no betting system that actually works fairly consistently except Counting cards, but in my humble opinion some betting systems are better than others. I'm pretty sure that I have probably seen every betting system known to man kind in the countless millions of hands I have seen. In my opinion the best way to bet is a 1 unit positive progression when you win a hand and return to your established base bet when you lose. The problem with the betting system I just described is to make money you have to win 3 hands in a row and I believe the odds are 7 to 1 against you doing that. Just got back from Vegas and I am so disappointed. The game of blackjack is being ruined to the point of being a joke. It’s shameful. Idiotic side bets, 6 to 5 blackjacks, endless shoes, etc etc. All of these changes are designed to give the house a greater advantage and so many people are unaware of this. The saddest part is that it is going to get worse and worse as more creative ways are discovered by imaginative people to fool unsuspecting players even more and make it look like they are giving you more ways of winning. That’s garbage. Unfortunately it will never go back to the way the game was during the time that a good player could actually win a session or two. But not any more. No, perfect basic strategy just means using basic strategy and not making ANY mistakes. They likely use the second perfect to just emphasize the fact that it means making no mistakes
The best blackjack system for me is the paroli system where you try to catch 3 or 4 wins in a row with doubling your bet. If you lose you go back to your initial bet amount and start over.
Sounds just like the Martingale system to me. And, it's a very risky system. You will win most of your bets but, eventually, you hit a big losing streak and lose it all back, plus more!

18.4 is the average dealer hand *when they don't bust*. Dealers do bust every now and then so if you got dealt an 18 every hand you should do just fine in the long run.

The best way to look at it is that if you have a soft 18 and the dealer is showing a 9 or 10, they will have a 10 dunerneath 1/3 of the time since a third of the deck is 10s. so if you stand you are automatically going to lose 1/3 of the time no matter what. If you hit your soft 18, a 2 or 3 is going to put you in a REALLY good position, a 10 (which again is a third of the deck) is going to keep you where you were at and any other card but a 9 will give you a hand you can hit to try and improve again after.

Card counting at blackjack is impossible at Graton casino in Rohnert Park California. Their games are continuously shuffled every 2 hands. Card counting will not work. The only way to beat that game is to find a sloppy dealer that exposes the dealer hole card, or somehow exposes the top card.
Avoiding bad blackjack games such as 6-5 blackjack and continuously shuffled games will help blackjack players. Avoiding mathematically inferior blackjack games will force the casinos to offer more player friendly games once again.

Colin Jones actually made a video on that on his Blackjack Apprenticeship channel. The rules are either unfavorable or they shuffle too often for your card counting to be effective. Even if you can find a table where card counting works, the games go by very slowly. There will be fewer games played per hour, thus decreasing how much you win per hour. TL;DR: It does not work.

look around you at the other people at the table. they are winning, and keep coming back to win more. those are the people who know how to play. losing 14 hands in a row just means blackjack is not for you.
The Odds of losing 7 bets in a row is 128 to 1 against..Or 1 out of 128.. Which is less than 1%... There's a 99.25 % chance of NOT losing 7 bets in a row vs .75% chance you will.. So according to the Laws of averages, you'll lose 7 bets in a row, once every 128 attempts.. Martingale works...However, most are scared to martingale 7 bets..

Progressive betting strategies are terrible. They provide an illusion of consistent wins, until your bad luck finally accumulates and one long losing streak blows up in your face.
No, you're doubling your exposure. Playing 2 hands at $10 is mathematically the same as playing one hand at $20, variance is just less. Unless you're increasing your odds from 49.5% you will always lose money in the long run.
It’s not any different than playing one hand. You are just playing more hands per hour and thus getting to that expectation a little faster. On average you will lose more per hour than playing just one hand.
The "expert" says that doubling a bet every hand at a 5/500 table will put you over in 7 hands. Then he says that doubling a bet every hand at a 5/2000 table will put you over in 12 hands. WRONG! 500 doubled is 1000, 1000 doubled is 2000. Which means you only get 2 more chances to double between 500 and 2000. For illustration, the bets would be 5, 10, 20, 40, 80, 160, 320, 640, 1280. 7 of those number are under 500. 9 of those numbers are under 2000. One mis-stated "fact" like that makes me not believe the whole video.

The reason that is is because card counting isn’t a winning strategy as much as it’s promoted it only proves a lousy 1% edge if done perfectly

My first time at a blackjack table I doubled a hard 13 against a dealer 6. It was a 6:5 single deck game too. Won that hand, never did it again.

Henry Tambourin talks about this, but if every hand you were dealt was an 18 you would net lose money. Including dealer busts (25% of the time)

I hear and watch many videos on blackjack strategies and lose many thousands of dollars listening and obeying the rules. I came to a conclusion it's just luck.. I've lost 14 hands in a row once.
look around you at the other people at the table. they are winning, and keep coming back to win more. those are the people who know how to play. losing 14 hands in a row just means blackjack is not for you.

There's a 99.25 % chance of NOT losing 7 bets in a row vs .75% chance you will..
So according to the Laws of averages, you'll lose 7 bets in a row, once every 128 attempts..
Martingale works...However, most are scared to martingale 7 bets..

Progressive betting strategies are terrible. They provide an illusion of consistent wins, until your bad luck finally accumulates and one long losing streak blows up in your face.
Is playing 2 hands of Blackjack at $10 a hand a good strategy? I do very well at this using basic strategy .
No, you're doubling your exposure. Playing 2 hands at $10 is mathematically the same as playing one hand at $20, variance is just less. Unless you're increasing your odds from 49.5% you will always lose money in the long run.
It’s not any different than playing one hand. You are just playing more hands per hour and thus getting to that expectation a little faster. On average you will lose more per hour than playing just one hand.

The "expert" says that doubling a bet every hand at a 5/500 table will put you over in 7 hands. Then he says that doubling a bet every hand at a 5/2000 table will put you over in 12 hands. WRONG! 500 doubled is 1000, 1000 doubled is 2000. Which means you only get 2 more chances to double between 500 and 2000. For illustration, the bets would be 5, 10, 20, 40, 80, 160, 320, 640, 1280. 7 of those number are under 500. 9 of those numbers are under 2000. One mis-stated "fact" like that makes me not believe the whole video.
umm. You proved his point. Starting at the minimum and doubling gives 7 bets under the $500 min and 9 under $2000. What’s your point?

meh... it still about luck.... card counting or not... yet the odds are with you when the count is good but does not mean you are going to win the hand...even with perfect card counting...

expected value. yes it’s technically still gambling but the with perfect card counting the odds are in your favor. with the odds in your favor statistically over time you will win. for specific hands yes just luck. but over the long term it’s about the odds and math.

that's not true...the whole point of progressive betting systems is you don't have to win anywhere near as many hand as you lose...i can't believe this guys teaches....what the heck...with a martingale...say you start at $1....then 2, then 4, then 8...then you finally win a hand...well you lost 4 and only won 1. Come on man. STILL, martingale is extremely risky. Blackjack odds are better than most casino games, with about a 99.5 RTP on average. I know this, and I hardly ever play. This guy teaches?
