Norwegian culture shock story: I visited Norway last October. My mind was blown by the scenery, the beauty, the amazing museums. Got to jump off the top of a sauna into the Oslo fjord, met some random 80 year old named Hans with sparkling blue eyes on a magical hike, went to the top of some snowy moutains in Tromso, took the train to Bergen, went on some cool fjord cruises, etc etc and whenever I would chat with a Norwegian I would say "omg your country is so amazing!" and they would ARGUE with me that it was not that great, and that many other places were much better. At first I was like wtf, but it happened so much I realized it was just a cultural thing lol to be humble. Anyway, great travel experience 10/10 no notes!

Oslo is beautiful. I’ve been there and enjoyed every minute. People do complain about the high prices, but I assume Norwegians make commensurate pay so it isn’t expensive for them. The food options were most impressive. We ate at a Turkish-Italian place which was so good we went twice.

I would visit Oslo again, because of the city itself and the commercial, quite successful. Yes, and I met the King on the streets.

I visited Oslo once and tried to find a place to set up my tent as it was camping trip. It got dark before we found somewhere appropriate but we could just about make out a grassy looking peninsula so we headed there and just set up the tent behind some bushes.
When we awoke we discovered from some signs that we were in fact camping in the royal palace grounds.
Try that literally anywhere else in the world. Gotta love them Scandis.
