I like how you can interpret the ending in two ways; 1. Flowey tricks Monika into thinking that he’s changed so that he can get his kill 2. Monika alters Flowey’s character file to make him more kind so that she has a friend.

I mean, last time we had a Death Battle where both fighters actually got along in the end was Deadpool and Pinkie Pie, but at least they're good guys... well, Pinkie Pie anyway. I mean, thinking about Deadpool as a good guy is kind of a stretch. Wiz: I don't think there's that much to worry about. After all, this is just another simulation. Boomstick: Wiz, both Flowey and Monika have the power to alter their worlds due to their awareness of being trapped in a video game, even if Flowey doesn't see it as a video game but just how his world somehow works. Considering they got fourth wall awareness nearing that extent, I think we should be a bit more worried. Wiz: Well, in any case, I suppose if this were to end normally, Monika would actually manipulate reality so that even Flowey could never be able to use the souls to actually use the same abilities, seeing as his ability to use resets HAS been rendered null by someone else who had the power to reset the game, even if he calls it determination. Boomstick: But at the same time, Flowey's awareness of the resets could clue him in that Monika has something similar. Not to mention the difference in how they perceive their existences could have allowed him to outright kill Monika if he had the chance. So in this case, who actually had the biggest chance of winning here? Wiz: Boomstick, I think if there's anything to take from this... it's to hope that we don't end up the losers.

Flowey isn't so aware that he's a game character I wouldn't say as much as he is aware of all the protagonist's in-universe abilities which happen to _coincide_ with things a player can do, namely saving and reloading, or resetting the game (all of which he remembers), and eventually gaining those powers and using them in a way that is identical to and presented through the text in the corner as our idea of "save-states". So basically, rather than breaking the fourth wall, Flowey basically leans on it so hard it cracks

@@ElijahW2003 This is almost true, however there are a few instances where it's hard to even properly align it to such a reading. For example, after completing a True Pacifist run and opening the game again, Flowey will appear in front of the player (and not Frisk) and try to convince you into not resetting the game and just letting everyone have their happy ending.

Along with the possibility he's talking to Chara, it's also important to note that, especially considering what happens in Deltarune, there's a strong possibility that the Player exists in some fashion or another in-universe. I don't think that's a narrative that _only_ exists in Deltarune as much as it's more obvious there.
I actually like how the lyrics feel like a full-blown conversation between the combatants. Most lyrical tracks either sound like a savage attack from two fighters against each other, or like they come from the perspective of a fusion between the fighters. Here, though, it's like Flowey and Monika actually met each other in the digital void outside their game worlds and discussed until they reached a civil agreement. Low-key sounds like good X-Over story material.
This could just be me overthinking this, but I think the song is based on the Undertale gimmick of striking up a friendly conversation as a good approach. Monika is following that gimmick as oppose to Flowey actually trying to kill her.
The song makes both characters sound like they’re both aware of each other’s power & nature, yet Monika still tries to befriend Flowey. They see themselves in each other, but while Monica is inspired to be with someone who understands how she feels, Flowey is disgusted by this and wants to ensure he’s alone. It’s just like in the games: Monika genuinely loved the player and didn’t want to be alone, regardless that she was evil and knew it… but Flowey felt only hatred and tries killing the player any chance he gets. If this death battle ever gets made, I hope it shows Monika’s heartbreak over Flowey’s rejection, and her horror upon seeing his maniacal joy hurting her.
There’s also subtle details in the song: Flowey mentions he’d kill Monika if he let her, which implies he knows she can survive without her body. Whenever Flowey SHOUTS at Monika, she keeps saying she’ll come back for him, as if he’s killing her over and over while she keeps returning until she says if it’s the last thing she does. This catches him off guard, basically meaning she still loves him even after he keeps killing her. But the last straw is when she mentions being PLAYER ONE AND PLAYER TWO, IMPLYING THEY ARE EQUALS OR THAT THEY CAN BE TOGETHER, MAYBE EVEN LOVERS. After Flowey kills her by pretending to be her friend, Monika plays her piano, this time without lyrics. To me, this represents heartbreak. In the end, Flowey is unlimited hate & Monika is unlimited love, FLOWEY WILL KEEP KILLING MONIKA & MONIKA WILL KEEP COMING BACK FOR HIM BECAUSE THEY’RE INCAPABLE OF STOPPING. Their death battle would be a draw, because Monika wouldn’t dare erase Flowey.

The more I listen to this the more I’m thinking towards the end Flowey tricks Monika by saying “Now that I think about it you actually have a point…” etc towards the end. And when we hear omega Flowey’s laugh at the end it’s Flowey just calling Monika and destroying her (Hell even the last notes of piano at the end sound perfect for Monika panicking as her files have been deleted and she’s slowly being destroyed)
@potatosoup3757 True but if the Death Battle team thought that erasing Monika’s file would count as a death then I could maybe see Flowey at the end slowly realizing that they killed the only person that could understand them and starting to feel regret over it. It could make for a depressing ending where without a word Flowey goes from smug to slowly realizing what they did and just “running away” (even if they don’t have legs)
@potatosoup3757Flowey has a workaround. He can absorb Monika's soul instead of destroying it, which would turn him into Asriel and thus allow him to control Monika by turning her into a Lost Soul.
A bit late but the problem with that is Monika isn't strictly a human, but rather a bunch of code taking the form of a human. Besides, Monika has shown that she can exist even in a state like that, and would likely destroy Flowey from the inside by fucking with Undertale's files.

HOLY MOLY!! Heya, commissioner here once again! This track was really, really, *REALLY* phenomenal and I couldn't be more hyped to see your reactions. Also, yeah, didn't expect both the instrumental and vocals, eh? Haha These two series and this matchup in particular has had a special place in my heart for quite a while, and when the instrumental came out, I was blown away for how accurately great it came out. And now that the vocals have finally came out, I just, HUH?! Literally no phrase in the English language can express how happy and hyped I am I absolutely freaking loved every single second of it all! The banter in this is so freaking good, I can hear this in a fan crossover song released in 2018, the vocal/voice acting performance in both characters was done justice, almost really similar to the originals and what I've envisioned, and I absolutely love how both in character they were in the song, with Monika being nice and kind, but deceiving on the inside, while Flowey straight up doesn't reveals his intentions haha. I just, goddang I'm just so happy right now lmao So yeah, thank you Brandon and Aries for the absolute stellar vocal performance, y'all did more than just an outstanding job! I really can't stress this enough and I'll say it again, play DDLC and Undertale, they are one of the greatest games ever And with that, I'll see y'all soon for next time!! I think what's interesting is that the lyrics seem to imply that Monika is reaching out to Flowey wanting him to help her create a brand new world where they can be happy. I think it shows the big contrast between the 2 characters. Flowey can't feel anything which causes him to do the terrible things he does in his game. Monika on the other hand, has feelings and strong emotions causing her to do the terrible things she does in her game. It shows why Flowey can't work together with Monika to make the paradise she wants and why they are fighting.

Didn’t expect This Feeling Is Neutral to get a vocal version and given the tone of the track I was both very curious and very apprehensive that it’d turn out feeling quite weird. In the end I’d say that it turned out decently. It wasn’t a surprise as good as Nightmare was but it still worked surprisingly well. The lyrics, instead of doing what I was afraid of which was to try and « do their own thing », do the opposite play along with the instrumental which is something that really works in most cases. It’s one of those cases where the lyrics don’t fully « change » the song but more so play the role of another instrument in the mix. And while this does mean they’re a bit less memorable, it does play to the strengths of the song as it doesn’t overshadow the instrumental which is the clear star of the show for the song. So yeah, I’m really happy that it went this way, really qualitative lyrical writing and inclusion for sure. Speaking of writing I didn’t really mention it because unlike with Nightmare (to take up the example I used earlier) I don’t have nearly as much knowledge of either character here but it’s still really interesting to hear the dynamic between both characters there. Both characters only want to have their ideals come to life but they know they can’t due to their special situations which causes one of them to take a very pessimistic view of things, accepting their current situation while the other conflicts with him as they want to improve their condition. Altho even with this conflictual standpoint they still know that they’re in a similar situation to the other. And while of course it’s directly mentioned in the chorus I think that overall this entire situation is represented nicely with both characters’ lyrics and interactions. Hell, it’s rare to have straight up talk moments in songs and I think it works here on multiple levels as it just works in the song without sounding out of place but it also works for the characters as of course they’d break out of the song like they break the fourth wall in their games just to talk, it’s only natural for them. So that’s a really nice addition. Overall, like I said at the start, this vocal version was not as impressive in terms of improvements as the other latest vocal track was in my opinion however, well first of all there’s definitely some personal bias there so don’t take it to heart, and second of all it doesn’t mean it’s bad as it’s actually really nice, fitting both characters (or at least the parts of them that I know) in addition to playing to the strengths of the song to improve it instead of trying to change it (which is somewhat ironic as two characters who are known for breaking the mold to stand out have the vocal version of their song instead be inline with the original version of it, just a slightly comical note) which is definitely for the better. Amazing work to both artists with this.
I think Monika would win. As much as UNDERTALE likes to shake our faith in the fourth wall, I don’t think anyone except _possibly_ Gaster ever quite catches on that they’re _literally_ in a video game.

I think Monica would win, because she can actually manipulate the code of the game (like how she manipulated the other girls stats in an attempt to make the Player love her) while Flowey's fourth wall abilities are limited to the save files. So, theoretically, worst case scenario she could delete Flowey's character file, leaving her sad and alone again. Best case scenario, she could edit his code to give Flowey his SOUL or just edit it so he turns back into Asriel, giving her someone "real" to talk to and giving Flowey/Asriel the ability to care again without a time limit.

Ah glad someone got some lyrics down. I had trouble understanding the uh screaming bits. So this is helpful if it's true. Would be good if it identified which is Monika and which is Flowey, but it works overall.
This is an extremely fun track. Thank you guys for making this. The track art is also really nice! For the verdict, I suppose I'd say Monika. The winner of this fight would have to be through hax, since Monika doesn't like, "fight" fight, and killing her normally wouldn't do anything either. She has a 'higher' level of awareness than Flowey does, I feel, and she tampers with DDLC more than Flowey ever does Undertale. He does play around with mechanics of the game, but, she really messes around with the internals of it, so to speak. I think she has a greater degree of control, here, and Flowey does forget what's happened if killed. So, if she deletes him from the game, I don't think he'd have anything to come back with.
I believe I remember her deleting the player's saves. Either that, or, she stopped them from loading to begin with. I can't remember exactly, but I'll rewatch a playthrough tonight to check.

I feel like this would be a fake-out heart to heart. Everything Monika does is for love, and Flowey can’t feel emotion. Also wouldn’t be the first time Flowey fakes being willing to do things his enemy's way just to get the strength he needs to destroy them, stab them in the back and call them an idiot.

This would be tricky because monika has shown in her game that the only way to kill her is to delete her entire code But flowey has shown he is somewhat capable of frisks determination from both azreal dreamer or omega flowey both needing the six human souls to even activate, flowey could maybe trap her in a infinite loop of death with omega flowey or reset the timeline with azreal dreamer. Also monika has never shown any fighting abilities in her game while flowey has in each route, this would be a tricky battle to determine, I’d put my money on flowey because in the omega flowey boss battle he destroys the players save, he is also able to load and save the battle, this shows that flowey is able to at least corrupt code or completely delete it, while monika could do the same I highly doubt this because she only does her deletion on people she deems to be competition for “senpai” and even then she is not immune from being tricked, so I think flowey has a better shot at winning then monika
flowey doesn't have the power to mess with files, the way the save works in the undertale world is that the person with the most determination in the underground gets control over the save and creates a new save file, the player's save file is called file 09 while flowey's is called file 08, when flowey gets the 6 human soul he gets control over the save and has access to all the previous human's save file but he cannot touch your save file, he does claim thta he deleted it at the begining of the fight but when you defeat him he admit he just lied and you can just reload to do pacifist or something in a real fight, if monika could just delete all code pertaining to flowey or she could just delete file 08 which contain all of flowey's memories

She's likely to be at her full power quicker than Flowey is, though his strength and durability, especially with his forms, would be insurmountable without changing her own "stats" to match Flowey. The _biggest_ issue is the fact that neither of them can traditionally erase the other. Both have erased characters and the entire game worlds and survived, and neither truly have a "soul", so neither could bypass each others' physical forms to attack anything underneath. The most ironic part of this fight.. is that they _actually have to fight to win._ Then what's the issue? *Neither of them can actually kill the other.* Flowey doesn't have a SOUL, and works independently from his/her game(s). Even if Monika had something she _could_ erase, Flowey would be able to resist it. Monika doesn't have a soul either, and erasing her files has _never_ worked, as she was still able to affect the game in ways and can still potentially show up. And even if we assume them using fisticuffs, ignoring any stat buffing for either of them, even though Flowey has the traditional strength and durability advantage, Monika still can't be killed. She can be as maimed as a pincushion, and would still be able to use her body just fine. Even if she was burned to a crisp or her body completely rid of, she'd _still be around._ While she'd be severely weakened, Flowey would still have to either defend against it indefinitely or leave somehow. Neither are plausible, as Monika is better known for her mental stability, stamina, and fourth wall awareness and manipulation. She likely wouldn't be able to hurt Flowey, but Flowey wouldn't be able to finish her, either. It's also possible that Monika could outdo Flowey's Determination and erase him anyways, but he has a similar case to Monika, where he will continue to exist anyways, though more incorporeal than even Monika herself. While this is a more traditional form of death and easier to consider a victory, that's also assuming a _somehow_ weakened Flowey, with lesser Determination. It's also entirely possible that Flowey could have more Determination than Monika, so equalized will is essentially required, as it's impossible to really measure how "determined" each of them are. Even if we consider prep time, while Monika would learn that she could just wait out Flowey's focus, Flowey would learn to rush Monika, who could just have an unlimited amount of backups, for all we know... which Flowey could erase, though this is iffy. In short, there's _so many factors_ that could be in play, that the fight could _literally_ go on forever. It literally just depends on who has the upper hand. Does Flowey learn about her backups, erase them, and then finish her off? Or does Monika just have too many backups? Well, with the speed advantage, as well as Determination nullifying Monika's similar powers, it's possible that, with time, Monika's backups and files would be gone in a flash, and Flowey would be the victor. If will was equal, Flowey would still win from physical advantage. Monika just wrote herself into a bed of flowers.
Flowey's Resistence to Existence Erasure go brrr 🗿🗿🗿 Flowey attempted to erase himself many times and yet he came back after getting erased, also Monika has no physical feats, this means she dies at every move what flowey made
Call me Biased whatever you want but Monika is dying very hard on this one Monika is just baseline universal, due to the Infinite choice stated, Monika deleted the Doki Doki Literature Club game, which has "infinite choices" Which while doing so, she even confirmed that doesn't pass anymore. Which is just Baseline Universal by Default with no statements Monika even has a canon Twitter account and outside sources. she can warp reality so hard she added real life photoshopped eyes onto yuri, and has haxes to appear in the description of the steam game and on the official website. And therefore, Monika completely LACKS a Strength, Speed and Durability feats, in physical she's just an average human and is a fodder without her powers, therfore she is a glass canon On the other hand, Flowey, undertale runs off of a type 1 multiverse which means a timeline is created with every choice you do and dont make, which branches out to an infinite amount of timelines/universes, so basically if one can destroy 1 full timeline, theyre destroying an infinite amount of timelines. To low ball this Files are entire full timelines which OF can load at anytime, theough sans' in fight statements we have confirmation that when someone loads, they are ending a timeline and jumping to another one in the same scenario, d4c type of shit. So anyone who can load, already scales to full timelines, bare minimum through hax. In the case for OF, this is a bit different because unlike a being with the determination soul, who loads through save points, OF is omnipresent through the infinite amount of timelines where OF is OF, meaning OF is, in a way of words, killing frisk through timelines. And because OF is omnipresent, he scales to the amount of timelines that he is omnipresent in, meaning an infinite amount of them, and even moreso since this is only refering to 1 file, OF has access to 6 of them. Meaning OF is 6 times infinite multiversal, and all of the high tiers scale to or below him, frisk(made OF's hp 0 with help, even with help, it does not matter as nothing implies OF's drops below infinite multiversal, it just implies that it goes down an unquantifiable amount), GOH azzy(im not having the debate of GOH azzy vs OF, just know that azzy's stats are infinite in relation to frisk/OF, who are bare minimum 4-D, boom infinite 4-D power which is 2-A), sans(its just his durability negation, dont get it twisted, this is only because flowey states that before frisk fell, that he did every possible situation, meaning kill everyone, spare everyone, steal the human souls and kill everyone, etc, flowey and sans also implies several times through each respective dialougue that they know each other before frisk fell and sans is the ONLY one, unphased by floweys attack, along with flowey's distain for sans, you can tell they fought before through implication), chara(scales to sans and his dura neg, and one shotted a full timeline by themself) Before you say "B-BuT mONiKa CaN dElEtE fLoWeY" Good point, but Flowey erased himself and came back later, meaning he resists Existence Erasure So yeah, Flowey Wins No Concept - Negative Diff

Flowey said he would "follow in your footsteps and erase himself from existence". When talking about why Chara climbed in the mountain in the pacifist route he says this "I know why Chara climbed the mountain. It wasn't for a very happy reason." For this to work we have to believe Chara jumping down the mountain was somehow going to delete them from existence, Flowey also never shows that he has any way to delete something. He also says he brought himself to the *edge of death* again and again to experiment, not "erased myself from existence" the edge of death. There's no reason to assume Flowey's saying he was going to erase himself was literal.

Anytime a DETERMINATION user feels more determined than normal, they can "SAVE" those points in time, just like a regular videogame, and their SAVE FILE, as seen in the pics below, represents their control over the current timeline LOADING is something common within video games, which is simply LOADING back to a SAVE POINT. You saved at "Point A", but you are currently at "Point B". LOADING back to "Point A" simply brings you back to that point, travelling to different timelines and creating different branches. Or, to put it simply, time travel. A DETERMINATION user can LOAD back usually after they die if they feel determined to come back, and if they simply feel like it in order to re-do something, Asriel considers save files as Timelines, Timeline = 4D Oh did i forgot to mention that Monika completely lacks a Physical and Speed feat? The odd thing about this fight is that Monika unironically wins. It's not because Monika can fight or scales anywhere close in power compared to Flowey, she just simply has unholy levels of hacks. Flowey can manipulate save data, but Monika can outright erase people. I can see this fight ending in two ways. Possibility one is a tie, Monika doesn't want to kill Flowey, and Flowey always wants to kill her. But he has no real way to permanently get rid of her since Monika has survived complete erasure before. Possibility two, the more realistic answer by Death Battle's Logic, is Monika would end up being forced into a situation where she ends up erasing Flowey's data after realizing she can't get through to him and make peace.
Monika's hax is inverse. Flowey scales incredibley higher. Monika does not bypass reset Flowey killed Frisk even though she can survive existence erasure in the omega flowey bossfight and destroyed her files, Monika having resistance to existence erasure is so fodder, even Flowey has it. The only way it can go is Flowey demolishing her unless he wants to mess around and keeps reseting the timeline to demolish her billions of times over or even forever, either that or just one shoot her. Flowey literally negs the verse.

However Frisk definitely can perma kill him, so I don't see why Monika who can delete the character's existence, appearance, personality, and etc.
I'd like to imagine at the end it's Asriel erasing Monika via reality warping but then Asriel feels his HP drop and starts glitching. It's then revealed that Monika is completely changing his files like she did to the other girls, Asriel in a panic questions how Monika is still alive. She then explains that someone she cared about deleted her files before and how even after being completely erased, she was still able to completely warp reality to save the Player. As Asriel glitches out of existence you see Monika's hands close on where Asriel was as it pans out to the "Just Monika" pose
Monika Wins: KO! Boomstick: Guess even a visual novel character can have Determination. Wiz: Honestly, this was one of the most difficult battles to judge. Much like back with Pinkie Pie and Deadpool, both Monika and Flowey have awareness of what lies beyond the Fourth Wall. Boomstick: Yeah, but unlike those two knuckleheads, at least this time we can have a definitive winner. Monika may be friendly, but she does know when someone has mental issues. And if her means of dealing with the issues of the other members of the Literature Club are anything to go by, she can be...uh...pretty extreme in fixing the problem. Wiz: By that same token Monika's intelligence and ability to fully alter game code gave her a much bigger advantage than Flowey, since while he can manipulate the game's reset button, he can't outright delete game characters. And even then, Flowey's ability to reset a fight has been overcome by players who do the exact same thing. Boomstick: Sure, Monika would have a tough fight going up against Flowey. She's a female love interest in a visual novel while he's a boss in an RPG. But that doesn't mean Flowey could actually get rid of Monika permanently. The only way to erase Monika is to literally delete her data from the game files, something Flowey doesn't have the ability to do. Wiz: In the end Flowey's lack of proper determination, coupled with an inferior code manipulation ability, spelled his end. Boomstick: He really should have read the situation better. What? Flowey isn't so aware that he's a game character I wouldn't say as much as he is aware of all the protagonist's in-universe abilities which happen to _coincide_ with things a player can do, namely saving and reloading, or resetting the game (all of which he remembers), and eventually gaining those powers and using them in a way that is identical to and presented through the text in the corner as our idea of "save-states".
So basically, rather than breaking the fourth wall, Flowey basically leans on it so hard it cracks

For example, after completing a True Pacifist run and opening the game again, Flowey will appear in front of the player (and not Frisk) and try to convince you into not resetting the game and just letting everyone have their happy ending.

Along with the possibility he's talking to Chara, it's also important to note that, especially considering what happens in Deltarune, there's a strong possibility that the Player exists in some fashion or another in-universe. I don't think that's a narrative that _only_ exists in Deltarune as much as it's more obvious there.
I actually like how the lyrics feel like a full-blown conversation between the combatants. Most lyrical tracks either sound like a savage attack from two fighters against each other, or like they come from the perspective of a fusion between the fighters. Here, though, it's like Flowey and Monika actually met each other in the digital void outside their game worlds and discussed until they reached a civil agreement. Low-key sounds like good X-Over story material.

This could just be me overthinking this, but I think the song is based on the Undertale gimmick of striking up a friendly conversation as a good approach. Monika is following that gimmick as oppose to Flowey actually trying to kill her.

I love that this song feels like the most awkward friendship song right out of a musical. Which in an odd way fits both characters greatly.
The song makes both characters sound like they’re both aware of each other’s power & nature, yet Monika still tries to befriend Flowey. They see themselves in each other, but while Monica is inspired to be with someone who understands how she feels, Flowey is disgusted by this and wants to ensure he’s alone. It’s just like in the games: Monika genuinely loved the player and didn’t want to be alone, regardless that she was evil and knew it… but Flowey felt only hatred and tries killing the player any chance he gets. If this death battle ever gets made, I hope it shows Monika’s heartbreak over Flowey’s rejection, and her horror upon seeing his maniacal joy hurting her.
There’s also subtle details in the song: Flowey mentions he’d kill Monika if he let her, which implies he knows she can survive without her body. Whenever Flowey SHOUTS at Monika, she keeps saying she’ll come back for him, as if he’s killing her over and over while she keeps returning until she says if it’s the last thing she does. This catches him off guard, basically meaning she still loves him even after he keeps killing her. But the last straw is when she mentions being PLAYER ONE AND PLAYER TWO, IMPLYING THEY ARE EQUALS OR THAT THEY CAN BE TOGETHER, MAYBE EVEN LOVERS. After Flowey kills her by pretending to be her friend, Monika plays her piano, this time without lyrics. To me, this represents heartbreak. In the end, Flowey is unlimited hate & Monika is unlimited love, FLOWEY WILL KEEP KILLING MONIKA & MONIKA WILL KEEP COMING BACK FOR HIM BECAUSE THEY’RE INCAPABLE OF STOPPING. Their death battle would be a draw, because Monika wouldn’t dare erase Flowey.

A bit late but the problem with that is Monika isn't strictly a human, but rather a bunch of code taking the form of a human. Besides, Monika has shown that she can exist even in a state like that, and would likely destroy Flowey from the inside by fucking with Undertale's files.

These two series and this matchup in particular has had a special place in my heart for quite a while, and when the instrumental came out, I was blown away for how accurately great it came out. And now that the vocals have finally came out, I just, HUH?! Literally no phrase in the English language can express how happy and hyped I am
I absolutely freaking loved every single second of it all!
The banter in this is so freaking good, I can hear this in a fan crossover song released in 2018, the vocal/voice acting performance in both characters was done justice, almost really similar to the originals and what I've envisioned, and I absolutely love how both in character they were in the song, with Monika being nice and kind, but deceiving on the inside, while Flowey straight up doesn't reveals his intentions haha. I just, goddang I'm just so happy right now lmao

I think what's interesting is that the lyrics seem to imply that Monika is reaching out to Flowey wanting him to help her create a brand new world where they can be happy. I think it shows the big contrast between the 2 characters. Flowey can't feel anything which causes him to do the terrible things he does in his game. Monika on the other hand, has feelings and strong emotions causing her to do the terrible things she does in her game. It shows why Flowey can't work together with Monika to make the paradise she wants and why they are fighting.

I swear, the vocal tracks never fail to surprise me, not that I'm complaining
Didn’t expect This Feeling Is Neutral to get a vocal version and given the tone of the track I was both very curious and very apprehensive that it’d turn out feeling quite weird.
In the end I’d say that it turned out decently. It wasn’t a surprise as good as Nightmare was but it still worked surprisingly well.
The lyrics, instead of doing what I was afraid of which was to try and « do their own thing », do the opposite play along with the instrumental which is something that really works in most cases. It’s one of those cases where the lyrics don’t fully « change » the song but more so play the role of another instrument in the mix. And while this does mean they’re a bit less memorable, it does play to the strengths of the song as it doesn’t overshadow the instrumental which is the clear star of the show for the song. So yeah, I’m really happy that it went this way, really qualitative lyrical writing and inclusion for sure.
Speaking of writing I didn’t really mention it because unlike with Nightmare (to take up the example I used earlier) I don’t have nearly as much knowledge of either character here but it’s still really interesting to hear the dynamic between both characters there. Both characters only want to have their ideals come to life but they know they can’t due to their special situations which causes one of them to take a very pessimistic view of things, accepting their current situation while the other conflicts with him as they want to improve their condition. Altho even with this conflictual standpoint they still know that they’re in a similar situation to the other.
And while of course it’s directly mentioned in the chorus I think that overall this entire situation is represented nicely with both characters’ lyrics and interactions. Hell, it’s rare to have straight up talk moments in songs and I think it works here on multiple levels as it just works in the song without sounding out of place but it also works for the characters as of course they’d break out of the song like they break the fourth wall in their games just to talk, it’s only natural for them. So that’s a really nice addition.
Overall, like I said at the start, this vocal version was not as impressive in terms of improvements as the other latest vocal track was in my opinion however, well first of all there’s definitely some personal bias there so don’t take it to heart, and second of all it doesn’t mean it’s bad as it’s actually really nice, fitting both characters (or at least the parts of them that I know) in addition to playing to the strengths of the song to improve it instead of trying to change it (which is somewhat ironic as two characters who are known for breaking the mold to stand out have the vocal version of their song instead be inline with the original version of it, just a slightly comical note) which is definitely for the better. Amazing work to both artists with this.
I think Monika would win. As much as UNDERTALE likes to shake our faith in the fourth wall, I don’t think anyone except _possibly_ Gaster ever quite catches on that they’re _literally_ in a video game.

I think Monica would win, because she can actually manipulate the code of the game (like how she manipulated the other girls stats in an attempt to make the Player love her) while Flowey's fourth wall abilities are limited to the save files.
So, theoretically, worst case scenario she could delete Flowey's character file, leaving her sad and alone again.
Best case scenario, she could edit his code to give Flowey his SOUL or just edit it so he turns back into Asriel, giving her someone "real" to talk to and giving Flowey/Asriel the ability to care again without a time limit.

For the verdict, I suppose I'd say Monika. The winner of this fight would have to be through hax, since Monika doesn't like, "fight" fight, and killing her normally wouldn't do anything either. She has a 'higher' level of awareness than Flowey does, I feel, and she tampers with DDLC more than Flowey ever does Undertale. He does play around with mechanics of the game, but, she really messes around with the internals of it, so to speak. I think she has a greater degree of control, here, and Flowey does forget what's happened if killed. So, if she deletes him from the game, I don't think he'd have anything to come back with.

This would be tricky because monika has shown in her game that the only way to kill her is to delete her entire code
But flowey has shown he is somewhat capable of frisks determination from both azreal dreamer or omega flowey both needing the six human souls to even activate, flowey could maybe trap her in a infinite loop of death with omega flowey or reset the timeline with azreal dreamer. Also monika has never shown any fighting abilities in her game while flowey has in each route, this would be a tricky battle to determine, I’d put my money on flowey because in the omega flowey boss battle he destroys the players save, he is also able to load and save the battle, this shows that flowey is able to at least corrupt code or completely delete it, while monika could do the same I highly doubt this because she only does her deletion on people she deems to be competition for “senpai” and even then she is not immune from being tricked, so I think flowey has a better shot at winning then monika
flowey doesn't have the power to mess with files,
the way the save works in the undertale world is that the person with the most determination in the underground gets control over the save and creates a new save file, the player's save file is called file 09 while flowey's is called file 08, when flowey gets the 6 human soul he gets control over the save and has access to all the previous human's save file but he cannot touch your save file, he does claim thta he deleted it at the begining of the fight but when you defeat him he admit he just lied and you can just reload to do pacifist or something

Power: Can fight various other monsters, but has notably struggled against Sans and Asgore. Is seen capable of nearly one-shotting Frisk, who has similar Determination.
Speed: Has consistently fought Frisk, who has varying levels of speed (such as dodging light-based beams from Gaster Blasters, literal words that could scale to the speed of sound from the Annoying Dog, and has outran the Hyper Goner attack, which temporarily erased the timeline.)

The only issue is the abilities _literally_ cancelling each other out like they have before when both Frisk and Flowey attempted against each other.)
Defensive Abilities: Tie (Flowey can resist Monika's attempts at manipulating time, and even resetting the game wouldn't remove Flowey's memories. The same can be said for Monika, however, as she has done the same, and has prevented others from using certain abilities like fast forwarding. Neither can remove the other from the game in a way that matters.)
Other Abilities: Tie (Essentially just teleportation and fourth wall breaking.)

Flowey is entirely capable of blitzing Monika on sight, but Monika has backup files for herself, and can contest Flowey in abilities. The only worth while ability that Monika has that _might_ work is her ability to change the code of other characters or people, though Flowey's Determination can cancel the power out. She's likely to be at her full power quicker than Flowey is, though his strength and durability, especially with his forms, would be insurmountable without changing her own "stats" to match Flowey.
The _biggest_ issue is the fact that neither of them can traditionally erase the other. Both have erased characters and the entire game worlds and survived, and neither truly have a "soul", so neither could bypass each others' physical forms to attack anything underneath. The most ironic part of this fight.. is that they _actually have to fight to win._ Then what's the issue?
*Neither of them can actually kill the other.*
Flowey doesn't have a SOUL, and works independently from his/her game(s). Even if Monika had something she _could_ erase, Flowey would be able to resist it. Monika doesn't have a soul either, and erasing her files has _never_ worked, as she was still able to affect the game in ways and can still potentially show up.
And even if we assume them using fisticuffs, ignoring any stat buffing for either of them, even though Flowey has the traditional strength and durability advantage, Monika still can't be killed. She can be as maimed as a pincushion, and would still be able to use her body just fine. Even if she was burned to a crisp or her body completely rid of, she'd _still be around._ While she'd be severely weakened, Flowey would still have to either defend against it indefinitely or leave somehow. Neither are plausible, as Monika is better known for her mental stability, stamina, and fourth wall awareness and manipulation. She likely wouldn't be able to hurt Flowey, but Flowey wouldn't be able to finish her, either.
It's also possible that Monika could outdo Flowey's Determination and erase him anyways, but he has a similar case to Monika, where he will continue to exist anyways, though more incorporeal than even Monika herself. While this is a more traditional form of death and easier to consider a victory, that's also assuming a _somehow_ weakened Flowey, with lesser Determination. It's also entirely possible that Flowey could have more Determination than Monika, so equalized will is essentially required, as it's impossible to really measure how "determined" each of them are. Even if we consider prep time, while Monika would learn that she could just wait out Flowey's focus, Flowey would learn to rush Monika, who could just have an unlimited amount of backups, for all we know... which Flowey could erase, though this is iffy.
In short, there's _so many factors_ that could be in play, that the fight could _literally_ go on forever. It literally just depends on who has the upper hand. Does Flowey learn about her backups, erase them, and then finish her off? Or does Monika just have too many backups?
Well, with the speed advantage, as well as Determination nullifying Monika's similar powers, it's possible that, with time, Monika's backups and files would be gone in a flash, and Flowey would be the victor. If will was equal, Flowey would still win from physical advantage.

Monika is just baseline universal, due to the Infinite choice stated, Monika deleted the Doki Doki Literature Club game, which has "infinite choices" Which while doing so, she even confirmed that doesn't pass anymore. Which is just Baseline Universal by Default with no statements
Monika even has a canon Twitter account and outside sources. she can warp reality so hard she added real life photoshopped eyes onto yuri, and has haxes to appear in the description of the steam game and on the official website.
And therefore, Monika completely LACKS a Strength, Speed and Durability feats, in physical she's just an average human and is a fodder without her powers, therfore she is a glass canon
On the other hand, Flowey, undertale runs off of a type 1 multiverse which means a timeline is created with every choice you do and dont make, which branches out to an infinite amount of timelines/universes, so basically if one can destroy 1 full timeline, theyre destroying an infinite amount of timelines. To low ball this Files are entire full timelines which OF can load at anytime, theough sans' in fight statements we have confirmation that when someone loads, they are ending a timeline and jumping to another one in the same scenario, d4c type of shit. So anyone who can load, already scales to full timelines, bare minimum through hax. In the case for OF, this is a bit different because unlike a being with the determination soul, who loads through save points, OF is omnipresent through the infinite amount of timelines where OF is OF, meaning OF is, in a way of words, killing frisk through timelines. And because OF is omnipresent, he scales to the amount of timelines that he is omnipresent in, meaning an infinite amount of them, and even moreso since this is only refering to 1 file, OF has access to 6 of them.
Meaning OF is 6 times infinite multiversal, and all of the high tiers scale to or below him, frisk(made OF's hp 0 with help, even with help, it does not matter as nothing implies OF's drops below infinite multiversal, it just implies that it goes down an unquantifiable amount), GOH azzy(im not having the debate of GOH azzy vs OF, just know that azzy's stats are infinite in relation to frisk/OF, who are bare minimum 4-D, boom infinite 4-D power which is 2-A), sans(its just his durability negation, dont get it twisted, this is only because flowey states that before frisk fell, that he did every possible situation, meaning kill everyone, spare everyone, steal the human souls and kill everyone, etc, flowey and sans also implies several times through each respective dialougue that they know each other before frisk fell and sans is the ONLY one, unphased by floweys attack, along with flowey's distain for sans, you can tell they fought before through implication), chara(scales to sans and his dura neg, and one shotted a full timeline by themself)

Flowey said he would "follow in your footsteps and erase himself from existence". When talking about why Chara climbed in the mountain in the pacifist route he says this "I know why Chara climbed the mountain.
It wasn't for a very happy reason." For this to work we have to believe Chara jumping down the mountain was somehow going to delete them from existence, Flowey also never shows that he has any way to delete something.
He also says he brought himself to the *edge of death* again and again to experiment, not "erased myself from existence" the edge of death. There's no reason to assume Flowey's saying he was going to erase himself was literal.

SAVE and LOAD are very straightforward abilities and are somewhat simple to explain. Anytime a DETERMINATION user feels more determined than normal, they can "SAVE" those points in time, just like a regular videogame, and their SAVE FILE, as seen in the pics below, represents their control over the current timeline
LOADING is something common within video games, which is simply LOADING back to a SAVE POINT. You saved at "Point A", but you are currently at "Point B". LOADING back to "Point A" simply brings you back to that point, travelling to different timelines and creating different branches. Or, to put it simply, time travel. A DETERMINATION user can LOAD back usually after they die if they feel determined to come back, and if they simply feel like it in order to re-do something, Asriel considers save files as Timelines, Timeline = 4D
Oh did i forgot to mention that Monika completely lacks a Physical and Speed feat? Which means Flowey can blitz her anytime he wants

The odd thing about this fight is that Monika unironically wins.
It's not because Monika can fight or scales anywhere close in power compared to Flowey, she just simply has unholy levels of hacks. Flowey can manipulate save data, but Monika can outright erase people.
I can see this fight ending in two ways. Possibility one is a tie, Monika doesn't want to kill Flowey, and Flowey always wants to kill her. But he has no real way to permanently get rid of her since Monika has survived complete erasure before.
Possibility two, the more realistic answer by Death Battle's Logic, is Monika would end up being forced into a situation where she ends up erasing Flowey's data after realizing she can't get through to him and make peace.
Monika's hax is inverse.
Flowey scales incredibley higher.
Monika does not bypass reset
Flowey killed Frisk even though she can survive existence erasure in the omega flowey bossfight and destroyed her files, Monika having resistance to existence erasure is so fodder, even Flowey has it.
The only way it can go is Flowey demolishing her unless he wants to mess around and keeps reseting the timeline to demolish her billions of times over or even forever, either that or just one shoot her.

I mean the best he did was trying to off himself, but his self preservation outdone it. Suicide by own hand is kinda hard unless used a weapon that can ensure. However Frisk definitely can perma kill him, so I don't see why Monika who can delete the character's existence, appearance, personality, and etc.
In these worlds it's kill or be killed.
I'd like to imagine at the end it's Asriel erasing Monika via reality warping but then Asriel feels his HP drop and starts glitching. It's then revealed that Monika is completely changing his files like she did to the other girls, Asriel in a panic questions how Monika is still alive.
She then explains that someone she cared about deleted her files before and how even after being completely erased, she was still able to completely warp reality to save the Player. As Asriel glitches out of existence you see Monika's hands close on where Asriel was as it pans out to the "Just Monika" pose

@@canaryedits900Monika has resistances to plot manipulation and would survive that, as she was able to resist when the game re-wrote the plot of the main story part of the game after she deleted Sayori, keeping her memories.
Besides she can do the same thing to Flowey, even more so given Flowey hasn't shown to be able to resist any of her abilities. Physical stats are kinda useless here, mentioning them isn't worth while

Also Monika's Physical Feat is garbo, any single attack would kill her in undertale, also physical feats are important at some times, like Monika who lacks a combat experience, also The most determined person can SAVE a point in time and LOAD back to it, using the SAVE POINT heals them, can LOAD back even if they are erased from existence which means Flowey could come back if Monika deletes him
