Hey y'all, commissioner again. So we’re finally here. After over a year of long wait, it’s time for our Date With the Devil and oh boy was it a good one. Just want to take this moment to thank everyone involved in this absolute passion project. Of course Brandon for the instrumentals and even accepting the request in the first place. Then there’s Igiko and Tiggs who’s performances speak for themselves (Tiggs please voice Homura if she ever gets on the show). I’d like to also thank my fellow artists Ethan, Dek, and Bee for making the art cover come to life. Seeing the real art cover finally realized is so rewarding, especially with Hyper’s superb intro animation (sorry this one was a big ask lol). If you ask me however, the real MVP here has to be Tyler, Brandon’s lyricist. This guy does not get enough credit and this track is not the same without him. This guy does a lot more work than people realize so shouts out to him too. I exaggerate nothing when I say these are the best lyrics he’s ever written. This is honestly the first time ever where my favorite part of a track is the lyrics themselves. The way he captures Homura and Kurumi in a way you’ve never seen before. The burdens Homura and Kurumi place on themselves, how underneath they’re cold and cruel exteriors, they view themselves as monsters, as demons, as outcasts who they believe are beyond saving. But despite all of the burdens they carry, despite all the pain they have to endure, they cast all of it away for the sake of they’re one true wish, to overcome they’re Date With the Devil. Oh yeah and the mad lad fit “ara ara” into the lyrics. Instant 10/10 track. Anyway, You guys already know how I feel about the MU so I don’t think I need to go over all that again. So on one end, I've got my bias towards any character voiced by Cristina Vee with Homura and on the other end, I'm a pretty big fan of Date A Live with Kurumi, so I am pretty much at an impasse but I will say the lyric version to this track rocks so hard and it might be my favorite out of the commissions next to Ultrasonic.

3:22 to 3:32 Now I don't know a lot about either character. But it sounds like Homura was in the middle of despair, and Kurumi was mocking her. But she turns things around and gets past her time abilities to Kurumi's shock
Damn, not only was the instrumental version of this song the "beta" version, but even the track art followed suit by improving for this. Really love that it keeps the same basis, just better (even having a great intro animation too. This really was the Million Dollar Track, wasn't it ?) But is it the case too with the song itself ? I think I can say that, overall, it is, yes. The original DWTD was a track that I originally really liked but that I burned myself out of because it is somewhat repetitive in some of its segments. So the addition of vocals to it really managed to break off that monotony in those few segments while of course adding lots of impact to the track itself. There are some deliveries that aren't perfect, yes, but those are mostly nitpicky of me because the vast majority of the lyrics are sung perfectly well by both vocalists, but was there ever any doubt about this ? Especially given those two have already proven their talent numerous times in the past, one of them even being a returning vocalist for "their" character. Still tho, it's not because it's established that it shouldn't be noted how good their performance is there, congrats on it. As for the lyrics themselves, well the commissionner already made a pretty extensive analysis of them, not to mention that they have a much closer connection with the characters than I do. However it does not mean that I don't have a few things to say myself. The first thing to note is that, unlike a lot of "character duet" vocals, this song has surprisingly little solo segments for both characters. To me this is quite interesting as, of course there's the obvious fact that both characters would heavily identify with one another due to their conditions that I'll go back on in a bit, but there's also the fact that it's also in-character for both of those not to impose themselves. Of course this may seem paradoxical as both are major characters in their franchise and have overwhelming presence. However when it comes to their personalities, both of them have a very "hidden" side to them: Homura who's, from my knowledge (which I'll admit is very little), someone who shows little emotion overall which justifies this non-focus on her and Kurumi who's known to not want to work in the spotlight most of the time and of course who hides most of her emotions to others, only showcasing a façade to virtually everyone, sometimes even herself. So going back to the original point, having both of them rarely take the time for a solo segment definitely fits as neither of them actually *want* that spotlight. Which is also why the two only moments where they have a solo is one remorseful exposition segment and one pre-climax taunt to the enemy. The first is quite obvious as to why it's there: it works as a sort of intro and I'll go back to it in a bit as to why it works perfectly. And the second one is pretty easy to figure too: it stands right before the third act of the song as both characters are readying their strongest to try and take down the enemy, so a taunt makes sense. Expanding on it, I'll start with the second solo segment as the first one will be quite longer to analyse. It's interesting to note that, out of the two lines that each characters get, there is a lot of antithesis to them. Kurumi's lines focus on her omnipresence, notably via the "I'm standing all around you" which comes in direct conflict with the "stepping through shadows" which would hint at an "hidden" persona. This shows a conflicted personality in the character that tries to put up a façade of "show person" that tries to take the reins whenever she can but in actuality simply wants to stay hidden in the shadows and not be seen due to her past sins still haunting her (something that's even reflected in the anime itself as, whenever Kurumi is with Shido after some point, she's notably calmer and less extravagant, furthering this. Really cool to hear how in two lines only that, in appearance are but simple taunts, we get such a deep personal reflection of the character. And it's similar for Homura too. While I don't know the character nearly as much, it's still notable that she's in a similar case except antithetic to Kurumi's: While the latter showcases a mask of extravagance while she's actually much more secretive, the opposite is the case here. Homura showcases a "shield" and while said shield can be interpreted literally, to me it's more so a shield of emotions in that she tries as hard as she can to show as little as possible to others around her lest she faces repercussions for it. And of course this comes in contrast with the second line which mentions "power", something that is of course synonymous with imposition and presence. So here it shows really well how Homura, despite wanting to showcase emotions, needs to put on a "shield" to never let them seep out or else, this being a great contrast in once again two lines only. The fact that both lines each characters have there not only contrast between themselves but are also antithetic from one character to another is absolutely perfect and a masterful show of lyric-writing. But it's not all, the two "intro" verses that I mentioned earlier are still there, and those two are extremely interesting. Starting again with Kurumi (which I'll note is something that also fits the character due to her proactive outer persona which makes her having the first verse in both instances fitting), we're shown a direct showcase of hatred for herself: she despises what she is, that being a spirit, and even more so the fact that out of all of them, she's the one that did the most harm to others. This self hatred is further emphasized by the direct death toll that she mentions, showcasing that while most people with such crazy murder counts would have stopped counting them by now, she still remembers each and every one of them, implying how much of a mental impact it's had on her. But even then the whole verse feels like she just resigned herself to her fate. She doesn't resent her position even if she hates it, she's accepted it, which is why she just mentions how "the death toll is rising", because she thinks that nothing could get her out of her cycle of suffering. Yet again it's simply mind-numbing how far those lyrics go with just two lines. And of course yet again Homura isn't left behind either. Hers, contrasting with Kurumi's, isn't an acknowledgement of how much she despises what she's done while remembering every sin she's comited. Instead she mentions how she's grown to simply not care about those things even if she still knows what she's doing is wrong. In a similar yet completely different vein, she feels determined to her situation. But unlike Kurumi who thinks that no matter what she does she'll just be resigned to it, Homura actively thinks that she must proceed on this path lest she completely collapses and that despite the harm it causes to others. As said, it's very similar to Kurumi in execution but both characters have a completely different perception of their situation. This brings me to a more general view of both characters in the track. I did mention how much both characters identify with one another which is why they sing in unison at almost all times, but if you've noted what I wrote, you'll see that I emphasize a lot the contrast between both characters, which is paradoxical. Why would both characters identify if they've got that much different from one another ? Well it's quite simple: similarly to how Claire and Guts identified in Awakened Sacrifice despite being different, both characters know not each individual hardships that the other has faced, but they both know that the general outcome they faced was similar: two broken individuals with a past full of suffering and sins that feel as if nothing could ever redeem them which makes them condemned to their lives of pain (funnily enough, this description works for Claire and Guts too). And that all makes it easy to understand why they'd identify with one another so much during their battle, and that even if they must end the battle by killing the other for good. Hell, this goes even to the end of the track as, contrary to Awakened Sacrifice who's end showcased the endless determination to fight on despite their past sins that both Claire and Guts had, here the ending is a reprise of the secondary chorus where both characters emphasize their hopeless situation, showing that whoever wins this fight won't matter as either way the only thing they'll gain from it is the right to live one more day with one more sin to add to their endless count. Quite the hopeful morale, eh ? Overall this track is not only a great improvement to the original when it comes to sheer quality of the song but it's also a masterful work of lyric writing on par with some of the best tracks of this channel like Awakened Sacrifice. So much so that I had to actually cut *a lot* of what I wanted to say to not go over the UA-cam character limit, this shows just how amazing the depth of the lyrics. The commissioner wasn't lying: while the rest of the song is great, the lyrics truly are the center piece of this track. So yeah, this is definitely a wonderful piece of work for all artists involved in this.
Mother of God, or Devil, or whatever! This is fucking glorious! Totally fit for one of Homura's best MUs. Hopefully we get a Homura vs Asriel track someday, but until then, I'll keep head banging to this.
This was a wonderful job for sure, I really appreciate the general appeal that this goes for, respecting finely the style handled in both series. And jesus christ, if regular already went hard, the lyrics made it 1000 x better, truly nailed it Brandon and congrats to Lady and Tiggs for such wonderful voice job. @@luisbalbuena5034just a warning. Get ready for a long ass essay lol. That's what happening when you look heavily into a character with some MM friends in the community. So it turns out there's things about Devil Homura that people tend to overestimate. The big one being that Homura is NOT part of the Law of Cycles like Ultimate Madoka is, meaning that whole thing about her being a "concept" is null. Don't forget, at the end of Rebellion, Homura isn't the one taking on the despair of Magical Girls She has a physical form that can be interacted with. Even if you wanted to give it to her, you'd have a true form Pennywise situation where she can't fight without leaving it. This also means she doesn't scale to Madoka's feats where she's part of the L.o.C (which is where complex multi comes from). With that said however, Devil Homura should still be around Uni. She was still able to re-write her own universe and should scale to Madoka one-shotting her witch form which, according to Kyubey, was gonna destroy the universe with despair. here's the thing though, speed is an entirely different issue. Don't forget, no Law of Cycles means NO omnipresence. Homura has tangible speed feats and I don't think her re-writing feat can be calced, meaning that (unless you buy Wraith Arc lasers), she's stuck at the Rebellion bullet feat which is cursed as a hell. This is where Kurumi's hacks come in. If you buy Kurumi being faster (light speed DAL is pretty blatant), what's stopping her from Memory maniping Homura (neither she nor Madoka have any resistances to it Homura was sable to take Ultimate Madoka's power ;though it's likely only a small part of it as implied at the end of Rebellion as well as stated by Homura herself, despite U. Madoka being way more powerful than her? Or just draining her powers/time? Or just using Rasiel to counter Devil Homura's reality warping? Besides. it's not like Uni Date A Live is that out of the picture. Kurumi was able to steal Beelzebub from Westcott who was able to focus all of the world's mana into a single focal point, which is what created Mio in the first place. Mio's creation btw is what created the entire Neighboring world as a whole which has been described in the books several times as an entirely separate dimension (universe in this context) and later on Westcott was able to contest Mio head-on so Homura having Uni level AP isn't something Kurumi hasn't seen before.
Help, I can't stop listening to this track due to it's Godliness! Edit: Gotta say for both this and the original track, the big guitar solo near the end feels like the girls are now going all out. Which, depending on whether Homura is given Devil Homura or not, would probably be the moment that said form appears.
Not true, also the picture even shows Kurumi's hand having a soul gem on it, but besides that Kurumi has her own dimension with full time manipulation and time stop won't work on her And Zaphkiel and Raziel rivals devil Homura anyway But apart from that Kurumi has an inverse form which makes her several times stronger than normal... And Kurumi is omniscient and immortality, so I don't see Homura winning this...

Oooooh. On one hand, while this is really good, on the other I feel that as someone who's heard the instrumental version, having lyrics on top of it kinda drowns the music out and confuses things somewhat. There's a lot going on, and I'm not sure the lyrics fit so well with the tune. That said, it's a great track, and I'm probably just spoiled by Brandon's other work!

Once again relistening to this on repeat, but this time having finished all of the main series of Madoka Magica and just finished Season 1 of Date A Live let's go! I know I'm already not the only one to ask if Tiggs could voice Homura if she gets on Death Battle, but if it's this matchup it'd be pretty neat to see Igiko as Kurumi since she pulls her off so well in this track. Gotta wonder, since the fourth Madoka Magica movie is coming out this winter and we're supposed to get Date A Live Season 5 this year, how high are the odds for this matchup to happen this season?
No doubt, I'm heavily rooting for Kurumi, but I suggest you watch Date a Bullet and read the LN *after you watch all the seasons* (Vol 17-19) I also watched all of Madoka Magica

I will say though, having watched both series and having seen a lot of videos on Rebellion, I disagree with Homura stomping Kurumi in her base form. Also, you claim the person I was talking to before failed to defend high outer Kurumi, but I fail to see how that's supposed to change me being neutral when there isn't really enough screen time of Devil Homura yet for that form to be a factor (as of the time I'm typing this the next Madoka Magica movie hasn't come out yet). Either way, who cares who's right if Death Battle Season 11 hasn't even started yet, let alone announced this matchup was happening? When it happens, I just want a good episode and I'm in the versus community for the fun of it.

Cool idea for a fight, but a complete stomp in Homura's favour. Homura becomes an omnipresent God by the end of the series who can freely travel through time and space and has destroyed and remade the universe. She has removed the memory of Ultimate Madoka, and stolen all of her power. Kurumi has bullets. (There's more to it than that, but nothing she has effects a God like Homura)
And if you didn't know... Kurumi uses both space-time and shadow manipulation, additionally she has Raziel which has the power of imagination, and can change any concept in the multiverse and makes Kurumi omniscient, while nothing states that Homura is... And Kurumi can also rewrite verses with Zaphkiel as well... Zayin nullifies durability and freezes the target in stasis, (Including their mind and soul) which means they will only have the strength of a normal person or less, this ability was also able to hit phantoms which are at higher cosmology Secondly she has the City of Devouring Time which, will knock out anyone who steps into her shadow, she covered an entire university with this ability before with ease Yod Aleph has ability to destroy timelines, and without a past it's impossible to exist in the present, so this ability is a one-shot... She has Gimmel which instantly accelerates time on any opponent it hits, up to 10,000 years or more if she wanted, since 10,000 years is the lifetime of around 100 people and she absorbed over 10,000 people... Another thing is that Kurumi has teleporting ability, time stop, insane acceleration (She can go light speed and beyond) and time has no speed limit since time doesn't follow the laws of physics And Kurumi has infinite clones in her dimension, which can all use the same abilities as her except directly using Zaphkiel, but all of them can use the City of Devouring Time and use Spacequakes (Which are anomalies which are similar to blackholes but has more destructive power than blackholes and expands much quicker, they also be seen from space) Kurumi used a Spacequake before in the sky and it killed over 150M people... Her time abilities are instant and ignores strength, durability and power levels and can kill opponents no matter how strong they are which also means she breaks power scaling Kurumi's spirit armour is nullifies physical damage and time manipulation, while also reducing the effectiveness of other kinds of damage, such as magic... Kurumi also has mental resistance, since Miku used mind control on everyone in the area and Kurumi completely ignored it's effect while others couldn't... The aura from Zaphkiel is also enough to disable and sabotage most spells and abilities... (Kurumi did this when Doll Master tried to attack Kurumi with over 100 dolls and they all got destroyed and Doll Master couldn't use her powers when Kurumi called Zaphkiel... Kurumi is also not the S class spirit in DAL, their are other spirits such as Mukuro which has the ability to manipulate space and she also has reality warping, she can teleport any of her abilities on any target through wormholes, and they are permanent, unless you can time travel Her angel is called Michael, which takes the form of a giant key, anything she activates or deactivates are guaranteed to happen, Mukuro used her ability on the earth before and caused it to stop spinning, and she can disable and lock abilities, memories, durability, regeneration etc... What we see is Madoka about to regain her memories and rejoin the law of cycles (as is her wish), this is not her getting her powers back. She'd take a similar position Sayaka took to her as Godoka, only a piece of the cycle. Homura's wish (to be strong enough to protect Madoka), will mean she's always stronger than her now.

short answer, no. Unlike Madoka, Homura never became part of the law of cycles, meaning she doesn't scale to any of her feats that use it. Most your getting for D Homura is uni - uni+ at most.

Hey y'all, commissioner again. So we’re finally here. After over a year of long wait, it’s time for our Date With the Devil and oh boy was it a good one. Just want to take this moment to thank everyone involved in this absolute passion project. Of course Brandon for the instrumentals and even accepting the request in the first place. Then there’s Igiko and Tiggs who’s performances speak for themselves (Tiggs please voice Homura if she ever gets on the show). I’d like to also thank my fellow artists Ethan, Dek, and Bee for making the art cover come to life. Seeing the real art cover finally realized is so rewarding, especially with Hyper’s superb intro animation (sorry this one was a big ask lol). If you ask me however, the real MVP here has to be Tyler, Brandon’s lyricist. This guy does not get enough credit and this track is not the same without him. This guy does a lot more work than people realize so shouts out to him too. I exaggerate nothing when I say these are the best lyrics he’s ever written. This is honestly the first time ever where my favorite part of a track is the lyrics themselves. The way he captures Homura and Kurumi in a way you’ve never seen before. The burdens Homura and Kurumi place on themselves, how underneath they’re cold and cruel exteriors, they view themselves as monsters, as demons, as outcasts who they believe are beyond saving. But despite all of the burdens they carry, despite all the pain they have to endure, they cast all of it away for the sake of they’re one true wish, to overcome they’re Date With the Devil. Oh yeah and the mad lad fit “ara ara” into the lyrics. Instant 10/10 track. Anyway, You guys already know how I feel about the MU so I don’t think I need to go over all that again. I think I can say that, overall, it is, yes. The original DWTD was a track that I originally really liked but that I burned myself out of because it is somewhat repetitive in some of its segments. So the addition of vocals to it really managed to break off that monotony in those few segments while of course adding lots of impact to the track itself. There are some deliveries that aren't perfect, yes, but those are mostly nitpicky of me because the vast majority of the lyrics are sung perfectly well by both vocalists, but was there ever any doubt about this ? Especially given those two have already proven their talent numerous times in the past, one of them even being a returning vocalist for "their" character. Still tho, it's not because it's established that it shouldn't be noted how good their performance is there, congrats on it.
As for the lyrics themselves, well the commissionner already made a pretty extensive analysis of them, not to mention that they have a much closer connection with the characters than I do. However it does not mean that I don't have a few things to say myself.
The first thing to note is that, unlike a lot of "character duet" vocals, this song has surprisingly little solo segments for both characters. To me this is quite interesting as, of course there's the obvious fact that both characters would heavily identify with one another due to their conditions that I'll go back on in a bit, but there's also the fact that it's also in-character for both of those not to impose themselves. Of course this may seem paradoxical as both are major characters in their franchise and have overwhelming presence. However when it comes to their personalities, both of them have a very "hidden" side to them: Homura who's, from my knowledge (which I'll admit is very little), someone who shows little emotion overall which justifies this non-focus on her and Kurumi who's known to not want to work in the spotlight most of the time and of course who hides most of her emotions to others, only showcasing a façade to virtually everyone, sometimes even herself.
So going back to the original point, having both of them rarely take the time for a solo segment definitely fits as neither of them actually *want* that spotlight. Which is also why the two only moments where they have a solo is one remorseful exposition segment and one pre-climax taunt to the enemy. The first is quite obvious as to why it's there: it works as a sort of intro and I'll go back to it in a bit as to why it works perfectly. And the second one is pretty easy to figure too: it stands right before the third act of the song as both characters are readying their strongest to try and take down the enemy, so a taunt makes sense.
Expanding on it, I'll start with the second solo segment as the first one will be quite longer to analyse.
It's interesting to note that, out of the two lines that each characters get, there is a lot of antithesis to them.
Kurumi's lines focus on her omnipresence, notably via the "I'm standing all around you" which comes in direct conflict with the "stepping through shadows" which would hint at an "hidden" persona. This shows a conflicted personality in the character that tries to put up a façade of "show person" that tries to take the reins whenever she can but in actuality simply wants to stay hidden in the shadows and not be seen due to her past sins still haunting her (something that's even reflected in the anime itself as, whenever Kurumi is with Shido after some point, she's notably calmer and less extravagant, furthering this. Really cool to hear how in two lines only that, in appearance are but simple taunts, we get such a deep personal reflection of the character.
And it's similar for Homura too. While I don't know the character nearly as much, it's still notable that she's in a similar case except antithetic to Kurumi's: While the latter showcases a mask of extravagance while she's actually much more secretive, the opposite is the case here. Homura showcases a "shield" and while said shield can be interpreted literally, to me it's more so a shield of emotions in that she tries as hard as she can to show as little as possible to others around her lest she faces repercussions for it. And of course this comes in contrast with the second line which mentions "power", something that is of course synonymous with imposition and presence. So here it shows really well how Homura, despite wanting to showcase emotions, needs to put on a "shield" to never let them seep out or else, this being a great contrast in once again two lines only.
The fact that both lines each characters have there not only contrast between themselves but are also antithetic from one character to another is absolutely perfect and a masterful show of lyric-writing.
But it's not all, the two "intro" verses that I mentioned earlier are still there, and those two are extremely interesting.
Starting again with Kurumi (which I'll note is something that also fits the character due to her proactive outer persona which makes her having the first verse in both instances fitting), we're shown a direct showcase of hatred for herself: she despises what she is, that being a spirit, and even more so the fact that out of all of them, she's the one that did the most harm to others. This self hatred is further emphasized by the direct death toll that she mentions, showcasing that while most people with such crazy murder counts would have stopped counting them by now, she still remembers each and every one of them, implying how much of a mental impact it's had on her. But even then the whole verse feels like she just resigned herself to her fate. She doesn't resent her position even if she hates it, she's accepted it, which is why she just mentions how "the death toll is rising", because she thinks that nothing could get her out of her cycle of suffering. Yet again it's simply mind-numbing how far those lyrics go with just two lines.
And of course yet again Homura isn't left behind either. Hers, contrasting with Kurumi's, isn't an acknowledgement of how much she despises what she's done while remembering every sin she's comited. Instead she mentions how she's grown to simply not care about those things even if she still knows what she's doing is wrong. In a similar yet completely different vein, she feels determined to her situation. But unlike Kurumi who thinks that no matter what she does she'll just be resigned to it, Homura actively thinks that she must proceed on this path lest she completely collapses and that despite the harm it causes to others. As said, it's very similar to Kurumi in execution but both characters have a completely different perception of their situation.
This brings me to a more general view of both characters in the track. I did mention how much both characters identify with one another which is why they sing in unison at almost all times, but if you've noted what I wrote, you'll see that I emphasize a lot the contrast between both characters, which is paradoxical. Why would both characters identify if they've got that much different from one another ? Well it's quite simple: similarly to how Claire and Guts identified in Awakened Sacrifice despite being different, both characters know not each individual hardships that the other has faced, but they both know that the general outcome they faced was similar: two broken individuals with a past full of suffering and sins that feel as if nothing could ever redeem them which makes them condemned to their lives of pain (funnily enough, this description works for Claire and Guts too). And that all makes it easy to understand why they'd identify with one another so much during their battle, and that even if they must end the battle by killing the other for good. Hell, this goes even to the end of the track as, contrary to Awakened Sacrifice who's end showcased the endless determination to fight on despite their past sins that both Claire and Guts had, here the ending is a reprise of the secondary chorus where both characters emphasize their hopeless situation, showing that whoever wins this fight won't matter as either way the only thing they'll gain from it is the right to live one more day with one more sin to add to their endless count. Quite the hopeful morale, eh ?
Overall this track is not only a great improvement to the original when it comes to sheer quality of the song but it's also a masterful work of lyric writing on par with some of the best tracks of this channel like Awakened Sacrifice. So much so that I had to actually cut *a lot* of what I wanted to say to not go over the UA-cam character limit, this shows just how amazing the depth of the lyrics. The commissioner wasn't lying: while the rest of the song is great, the lyrics truly are the center piece of this track. So yeah, this is definitely a wonderful piece of work for all artists involved in this.
Mother of God, or Devil, or whatever! This is fucking glorious! Totally fit for one of Homura's best MUs. Hopefully we get a Homura vs Asriel track someday, but until then, I'll keep head banging to this.

This was a wonderful job for sure, I really appreciate the general appeal that this goes for, respecting finely the style handled in both series. @@luisbalbuena5034just a warning. Get ready for a long ass essay lol. That's what happening when you look heavily into a character with some MM friends in the community.
So it turns out there's things about Devil Homura that people tend to overestimate. The big one being that Homura is NOT part of the Law of Cycles like Ultimate Madoka is, meaning that whole thing about her being a "concept" is null. Don't forget, at the end of Rebellion, Homura isn't the one taking on the despair of Magical Girls She has a physical form that can be interacted with. Even if you wanted to give it to her, you'd have a true form Pennywise situation where she can't fight without leaving it. This also means she doesn't scale to Madoka's feats where she's part of the L.o.C (which is where complex multi comes from).
With that said however, Devil Homura should still be around Uni. She was still able to re-write her own universe and should scale to Madoka one-shotting her witch form which, according to Kyubey, was gonna destroy the universe with despair.
here's the thing though, speed is an entirely different issue. Don't forget, no Law of Cycles means NO omnipresence. Homura has tangible speed feats and I don't think her re-writing feat can be calced, meaning that (unless you buy Wraith Arc lasers), she's stuck at the Rebellion bullet feat
which is cursed as a hell.
This is where Kurumi's hacks come in.
If you buy Kurumi being faster (light speed DAL is pretty blatant), what's stopping her from Memory maniping Homura (neither she nor Madoka have any resistances to it Homura was sable to take Ultimate Madoka's power ;though it's likely only a small part of it as implied at the end of Rebellion as well as stated by Homura herself, despite U. Madoka being way more powerful than her? Or just draining her powers/time? Or just using Rasiel to counter Devil Homura's reality warping?
Besides. it's not like Uni Date A Live is that out of the picture. Kurumi was able to steal Beelzebub from Westcott who was able to focus all of the world's mana into a single focal point, which is what created Mio in the first place. Mio's creation btw is what created the entire Neighboring world as a whole which has been described in the books several times as an entirely separate dimension (universe in this context) and later on Westcott was able to contest Mio head-on so Homura having Uni level AP isn't something Kurumi hasn't seen before.

Edit: Gotta say for both this and the original track, the big guitar solo near the end feels like the girls are now going all out. Which, depending on whether Homura is given Devil Homura or not, would probably be the moment that said form appears.

Once again relistening to this on repeat, but this time having finished all of the main series of Madoka Magica and just finished Season 1 of Date A Live let's go! I know I'm already not the only one to ask if Tiggs could voice Homura if she gets on Death Battle, but if it's this matchup it'd be pretty neat to see Igiko as Kurumi since she pulls her off so well in this track. Gotta wonder, since the fourth Madoka Magica movie is coming out this winter and we're supposed to get Date A Live Season 5 this year, how high are the odds for this matchup to happen this season?
No doubt, I'm heavily rooting for Kurumi, but I suggest you watch Date a Bullet and read the LN *after you watch all the seasons* (Vol 17-19)

I will say though, having watched both series and having seen a lot of videos on Rebellion, I disagree with Homura stomping Kurumi in her base form. Also, you claim the person I was talking to before failed to defend high outer Kurumi, but I fail to see how that's supposed to change me being neutral when there isn't really enough screen time of Devil Homura yet for that form to be a factor (as of the time I'm typing this the next Madoka Magica movie hasn't come out yet). Either way, who cares who's right if Death Battle Season 11 hasn't even started yet, let alone announced this matchup was happening? When it happens, I just want a good episode and I'm in the versus community for the fun of it.

Cool idea for a fight, but a complete stomp in Homura's favour. Homura becomes an omnipresent God by the end of the series who can freely travel through time and space and has destroyed and remade the universe. She has removed the memory of Ultimate Madoka, and stolen all of her power.
Kurumi has bullets. (There's more to it than that, but nothing she has effects a God like Homura)
She didn't steal all of Madoka's power and Madoka still had all of her abilities and was about to defeat Homura but she begged...
And if you didn't know...
Kurumi uses both space-time and shadow manipulation, additionally she has Raziel which has the power of imagination, and can change any concept in the multiverse and makes Kurumi omniscient, while nothing states that Homura is... And Kurumi can also rewrite verses with Zaphkiel as well...
Zayin nullifies durability and freezes the target in stasis, (Including their mind and soul) which means they will only have the strength of a normal person or less, this ability was also able to hit phantoms which are at higher cosmology
Secondly she has the City of Devouring Time which, will knock out anyone who steps into her shadow, she covered an entire university with this ability before with ease
Yod Aleph has ability to destroy timelines, and without a past it's impossible to exist in the present, so this ability is a one-shot...
She has Gimmel which instantly accelerates time on any opponent it hits, up to 10,000 years or more if she wanted, since 10,000 years is the lifetime of around 100 people and she absorbed over 10,000 people...
Another thing is that Kurumi has teleporting ability, time stop, insane acceleration (She can go light speed and beyond) and time has no speed limit since time doesn't follow the laws of physics
And Kurumi has infinite clones in her dimension, which can all use the same abilities as her except directly using Zaphkiel, but all of them can use the City of Devouring Time and use Spacequakes (Which are anomalies which are similar to blackholes but has more destructive power than blackholes and expands much quicker, they also be seen from space) Kurumi used a Spacequake before in the sky and it killed over 150M people...
Her time abilities are instant and ignores strength, durability and power levels and can kill opponents no matter how strong they are which also means she breaks power scaling
Kurumi's spirit armour is nullifies physical damage and time manipulation, while also reducing the effectiveness of other kinds of damage, such as magic...
Kurumi also has mental resistance, since Miku used mind control on everyone in the area and Kurumi completely ignored it's effect while others couldn't...
The aura from Zaphkiel is also enough to disable and sabotage most spells and abilities... (Kurumi did this when Doll Master tried to attack Kurumi with over 100 dolls and they all got destroyed and Doll Master couldn't use her powers when Kurumi called Zaphkiel...
Kurumi is also not the S class spirit in DAL, their are other spirits such as Mukuro which has the ability to manipulate space and she also has reality warping, she can teleport any of her abilities on any target through wormholes, and they are permanent, unless you can time travel
Her angel is called Michael, which takes the form of a giant key, anything she activates or deactivates are guaranteed to happen, Mukuro used her ability on the earth before and caused it to stop spinning, and she can disable and lock abilities, memories, durability, regeneration etc...
This angel is one the most strongest angel in DAL apart from Zaphkiel and Raziel...
And then you have Kotori, Origami, Mio, Shido, which combines several powers from the spirits...
Homura would get her abilities disabled by Kurumi, before Homura even gets a chance to fight Kurumi
And dimensionality means nothing to Kurumi, since she scales higher than them...
@@Cobalt-Opera I mean no? Madoka wasn't about to defeat Homura ever. The author quite literally said that she replaced the law of cycles so Madoka could live in peace.
What we see is Madoka about to regain her memories and rejoin the law of cycles (as is her wish), this is not her getting her powers back. She'd take a similar position Sayaka took to her as Godoka, only a piece of the cycle. Homura's wish (to be strong enough to protect Madoka), will mean she's always stronger than her now.

Madoka got really mad and was about to re-enter into her god form for what Homura did because of her pride and cunningness, but Homura said: "Please no, don't do this" and claimed that she wants to live in peace for the time being, and then she started crying, and Madoka didn't bother killing her and decided to preserve her life instead...
And I know that madoka can live in space, and Kurumi can do the same because she's a spirit, and spirits are much stronger and have higher dimensionality than normal people, so the based on what you said about Madoka isn't true, you should rewatch the final episode
And Homura wanted to protect Madoka long ago so that Madoka could achieve this state, but that logic doesn't work anymore, since Madoka can now protect herself...

@@Omion_124 You misunderstand something, Kurumi was stated to have one of the strongest angels in DAL, and she has both of them, Zaphkiel (The Emperor of Time) and Raziel (Tome of Revelation) the use of Zaphkiel alone is enough to cause paradoxes through past and future timelines, besides this Zaphkiel has massive power nullification, such as disabling abilities, breaking spells, seeing the future, memories etc... Including distorting time and space
And a single space quake could cover an several continents and killed over 150M people, Kurumi on the other hand can summon spacequakes at will, and her clones can also do the same thing, she also has the City of Devouring Time which is her shadow that can extend out to an entire city (As she did before) and knocks out the victim and instantly takes away the lifeforce of any being which is inside of it, and this has nothing to do with strength or power level either, this ability is also capable of erasing concept of existence meaning you get erased from all timelines memories and the world, and they cannot be revived
Kurumi has another ability called *Tet* which puts her thoughts in the future which forces the victim to do whatever she commands them, she can also control their abilities as well causing their own abilities to backfire therefore killing them, her second angel Raziel has future directing, and is also capable of manipulating they're fate causing them to come to an undeniable conclusion, he also makes Kurumi omniscient, as Raziel gives all information in the world, and can know anything by just looking at it (Or asking Raziel) and also has the ability to direct the future as she knows exactly what is gonna happen and how it's gonna happen and anything Kurumi writes in Raziel will happen regardless of what it is...
Kurumi was stated to have infinite clones in her pocket dimension, they exist in the past, future and in her dimension (Which exists beyond time and space) and they all use the same abilities as her and they all wear the same astral dress, (And Kurumi's astral dress completely nullifies physical damage and time manipulation) and so far Homura uses pure physically weaponry so it will all get nullified, and Kurumi was both shown and proven to move at instantaneous speeds constantly, resulting in Kurumi striking Homura before she can even react, and due to Zaphkiel and her astral dress, Homura's time stop will not work on Kurumi, and Kurumi can also travel to the past and future even with just her bullet, she also has acasualty which means she doesn't get affected by her past selves being killed, and her past selves have an independent self just like the present Kurumi, and trying to kill them would mean that they would also kill you just like the present Kurumi, Kurumi can also communicate with her past self as well, sharing information
Kurumi also completely ignores logic, such as being completely unaffected by physical counterparts, including being immune to Gamma rays, outer space, physical objects, as Kurumi and her clones physically thrashed the DEM's Bandernatch robots which are one of DEM's strongest units, and they couldn't even touch one of Kurumi's clones, her clones also come out of her shadow, and yet she did this in mid-air (As there is no shadow in mid-air) also proving she doesn't follow logic at all

Kurumi's Inverse is also capable of destroying time and space leaving only a white space and anything which collides with this phenomenon gets annihilated to shreds leaving nothing behind
The same goes for anything the bullet collides into
White Queen (Inversed form) has the saber (Which represents the second hand on the clock) can cut infinite space with infinite range, and even shatters reality
Kurumi can also rewrite the verse infinitly as she did this and even avoided Fate, (As Westcott had Beelzebub which made him nigh omniscient, and tells everything about them) which could never be possible as she did this and 204 times and there's no limit to how much times she can do this... And it would be as if it only happened once, this gives Homura no opportunity, as even in her Demon form Kurumi will know her weaknesses from the start as Raziel would tell her everything, besides this in Kurumi's Inversed form she gets even a worse broken set of abilities, but I assume Death Battle might just do it for the show
Although there are even more feats to tell, I would suggest you analyze these ones first...

Kurumi does not go beyond logic, and going beyond logic may sometimes be just a manipulation of reality, and going beyond logic does not make you an outer, and it is the same concepts. It depends on the size of the verse and what these things mean in relation to it.
It does not transcend space and time, it only manipulates time, and transcending time and space is just a 5D achievement
The rest of the things are just Hax and do not work on higher dimensional characters

She does, as I've completed the series and I have many scans which can prove it, I even stated some of them in the previous comment
And no, she doesn't need to manipulate reality to ignore logic... I'm pretty sure breathing in space and being completely immune to gamma rays and radiation has nothing to do with the manipulation of reality, besides this, she can traverse through solid objects, such as walls

And concepts are the fundamentals of every verse and some dimensions, which means if the fundamental concepts destroyed the universe also goes along with it, such as reality

short answer, no. Unlike Madoka, Homura never became part of the law of cycles, meaning she doesn't scale to any of her feats that use it. Most your getting for D Homura is uni - uni+ at most.

Second, as I said in another comment, Homura never became part of the Law of Cycles like Madoka did. She doesn't scale to any of her top tier feats. Don't forget, it isn't Homura who's taking on the despair of magia girls, the incubators are.

Since Madoka was a concept and didn't need protecting anymore (more like there technically was nothing to protect), Homura's old wish was mute. Instead gaining memory manipulation and a bow. Word of advice, don't take novel stuff and raw statements out of context.
