Absolutely beautiful piece of music.
Every time I come back and watch this video again, I feel my grandfather near me. He died in 1994 (natural causes). He was in the Pacific theater (New Guinea) and not Europe, but it's a testimony to how brilliantly John Williams captures these abstract feelings. He captures things about people that he has never known. My grandfather would have been 100 on September 9th of this year. I can't ever forget what he and people like him fought and died for.
Your musicianship is a gift, Marc. Thank you for sharing it here with everyone.

Marc, superb work on this! The orchestration, the dynamics, the articulations, and contrasting moving lines are interpreted smoothly. The richness and beauty in that trumpet tone, such broadening and heroic-like.
This is my favourite John Williams piece. Even better than the classic ones (SW, Indie aso). I think this is your best performance too. Such a beautiful tone. This also brings memories of my fallen grandma's husband who died almost 6 years ago. You played with such emotion and make it really honorable. The complements can go on forever. Truly an amazing performance and it makes me really happy to hear such a good performance! Can't wait to hear more!
I had to play the 4th horn part on this in high school, and MY GOD. I never knew I could play that low hahaha. I loved the challenge.
I remember being approached to play this as 4th horn for our freshman band, and I have to say, 4th horn was never so much fun. Listening to this it was all I could hear and boy did you kill it (as usual)
John Williams makes the best music in the world I go to the Hollywood bowl for him every year
This is awesome. The sweeping melodies, the grand harmonies, the soothing brass, reminds me of why I chose to play French Horn so many years ago, and reminds me that my love for the instrument is still strong as ever. Someday I’ll not live in an appartment and will be able to get a french horn and not worry about annoying my neighbors.
I think what I love most about your music is your passion and love which is present in the beautiful sound you obtain and your facial expressions

Hey marc, I was wondering how do you get the background music (the violins in the background, the percussion etc.) I want to put some of these pieces together but it sounds dull without background music. Please reply!!! :)))
I'm thinking he downloads the original piece and imports it into his DAW (cubase) as an audio track then lowers the volume so his part come out clearly on top, but I can't say for certain. That is the only approach I know of, anyways. I'll be trying it myself soon so I'll let you know what I find!
You're right Connor ! For this piece I simply used the original track as a backing track :)
(sometimes I also recreate orchestral parts with virtual instruments)
And then it's all about "polishing" the sound with volume/EQ !

This is a very beautiful cover! How do you get your backing tracks? Do you write them yourself in a DAW, or do you have somebody make them?
Most of the time I simply use the original track as a backing track !
Marc Papeghin How did you omit the trumpet sound in the original? Did you just play over it to cover it up?
@@rojoinc In this case I simply played over the whole thing and made it all work thanks to EQ :)

I'd like to but I'm not sure when it will happen...John Williams music is very tricky to publish, plus there's already a whole bunch of sheet music I'm waiting for Musicnotes to release !
@@Marc_Papeghin Ah, you're right. I haven't even been able to find an MP3 for a backing track. Also, thank you so much for the video on your recording setup! I've been using Cubase since you published that video and I love it! I've been listening to some more John William's lately and I think that Anakin vs Obi-Wan from Revenge of the Sith would fit your style very well, it's a great piece. I know you get a ton of suggestions, and I could post a ton, but it's definitely worth a listen!
