I love how Meg was guarding that little lamb (sibling to the hung lamb), making sure it didn't wander off, giving it a little lick here and there. What a great dog! And that sheep that walked off - "Whit? It wisnae me! Ah'm aff tae hae ma bath"!
I see there are a few of us from Sandi’s! Good job with the ewes. I caretake 30 ewes and 3 rams that are pasture bred and raised. This will be my first lambing 😳. lol Every video is informative and interesting. Thank you!
Great videos with the humour injection. Hard to keep the humour during lambing but you're doing a great job. I'm from Northern Ireland and the sense of humour is the same. Keep up the good work. 👌👌
Just heard about you from Sandi over on Sheepishly Me. She said to check out your videos and I loved seeing how well trained your dog was. Looking forward to more.
I'm sure you have heard this many times but I love to hear you talk. I have to be honest sometimes I don't understand what you are saying I just rewind lol Great videos. It's amazing how well those dogs do their jobs, you and your team do a great job! Thank you for sharing your adventures.
Excellent, I just put up my first you tube post, lambing in Central Ontario, Canada. Nothing of them actually lambing but I have nice new lambs dropping here in the snow.
THAT was the best line ever please subscribe if you like and even if you don't subscribe anyway! :-) Also I loved the beginning song it reminded me of my friends father who was Scottish and he loved that band. I would walk 500 miles...his favorite. When he passed away their home was about 1/2 mile from the little church and his wish was for us to start at the house and march singing that song to the Church. And we did. Blasting our lungs! That even may be a Scottish tradition I do not know. That was over 35 years ago and still dear to my heart. The song brought back that wonderful memory. Aww Lizzie you are amazing and I know how sad these loses would be. And as for runaway Mom well I guess animals can get post partem as well! Doing some back watching or catch up. hugs
I want to see how you finally got her back. I love Meg, she's a great dog. How long did it take to train her? How old is she, and will she ever have puppies?
Donna Spear Hi Donna. I had to put the camera down and lift her out the burn and get soaked in process! I inherited Meg from my dad when she wasn’t fully broken so she has her rough edges and i make her look good on camera lol. She is 10. She has never came into season unfortunately. Really sad!!
Loving these vidioes so grate to see a fellow Scotsman on UA-cam thinking about it I have had a simmilar day had a blackie ewe lamb her first lamb no bother and then the other one was almost hung but we got her in time although we did need the vet then we went to castrate a tup lamb out of a cheviot ewe and the ewe took of on to the roed and then down to the other end of the the feild hu the joys of sheep
Lambing is indeed a hard time for every farmer. My father always used to say that unfortunately where there is stock there is loss and sometimes there is nothing you can do about it.
Hello, I'm a new subscriber :) Do I hear you talking a bit of the Gaelic to your dog or is it just me (an Aussie) not understanding your accent - despite my Scottish ancestry lol!? Your videos are far from being too long, you can make them longer if you like! :D
Hi Pauline, I’m going to make a video about Meg soon. I don’t speak gaelic to her but i use a lot of Scots words in my day-to-day dialect. If u heard me speak to another person from Ayrshire you probably wouldn’t understand a word of it 😁. It u have heard of Robert Burns then we use a lot of the same words he uses in his writings. 😁
this is the exact reason the Cheviots are one of my least favourite sheep... Luckily the farm i work on during laming season only has 10 or so Cheviots in the flock but realized that they wouldnt fit their purpose quite as well as their Suffolk x Border Leicester ewes do . We also have a similar issue with our suffolk mule crosses, they bolt as soon as they have had their lambs and are an utter pain to deal with in the small pens
Love your videos. However, I think I’ll have my son-in-law watch this and then translate 😂. He’s born and raised in Edinburgh. He told me when I first met him that if I heard two Scots talking to each other that it’d sound like a foreign language to me (Midwest USA born).
I’ve got a story about a bloke, had exactly the same happen to him, but in very steep country, ewe ended up in the creek at the bottom of a gully, better not say on here what happened, but she never had any more lambs
I love Sandi Brock but I love watching you and Lizzie. You problem solv but if something goe badly wrong you accept it for what it then move on. Also think short hair looks great
when swinging a lamb you should never swing it away from u as you are just putting the mucus back through it's nose and that first lamb died because the ewe wasn't checked often enough the lamb that was alive was born a good half hour to and hour before that one
yes we lamb all our ewes outdoors and i understand lambs can die regardless weather u are there or not just in that case i'm sure you would agree that was a very preventable death not that one lamb is going to make or break the bank anyways i've finally found a yt channel about sheep that isn't all bs
Music...I listen on ear buds and I'm 65. I want to hear when I get to be 94 like my Dad - but he can't hear much at all without hearing aids. Please turn it down.
I love how Meg was guarding that little lamb (sibling to the hung lamb), making sure it didn't wander off, giving it a little lick here and there. What a great dog! And that sheep that walked off - "Whit? It wisnae me! Ah'm aff tae hae ma bath"!
Started watching today. Sandi Brock from Canada said your videos are great and you do sheep farming the right way! I would agree with her.
Thanks Lisa. Sandi's a bit hard on herself as all a sheep needs to be happy is food, water and other sheep. All her sheep get heaps of that =D
I watch her too.
I like Sandi's way of doing it. I can see her sheep are happy. But this is how we farm in NZ so I like watching Cammy too.
I see there are a few of us from Sandi’s!
Good job with the ewes.
I caretake 30 ewes and 3 rams that are pasture bred and raised. This will be my first lambing 😳. lol
Every video is informative and interesting.
Thank you!
Thanks Samantha. I'm just trying to improve all the time! Sandi has gave me a massive boost today and thanks for joining! =D
I found another one. Sandy has hit the jackpot by recommending you. You're a great sheep farmer
Thanks Gabrielle, hope you enjoy the channel
Great videos with the humour injection. Hard to keep the humour during lambing but you're doing a great job. I'm from Northern Ireland and the sense of humour is the same. Keep up the good work. 👌👌
georgecalwell thanks for the feedback! Got to keep positive or it’ll wear u down😁
Watching this as we wait for our first lambs on the croft...really helpful thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it and found it helpful 👍
A Sandi's viewer. Ahh the Scots tongue, beautiful land and working dogs. I love it.
Thanks!
😄 I love how you say Cheviot like a swear word.
I have been in that situation many times, left holding 2 lambs and two dogs looking at me saying wtf. Keep the videos coming they are brilliant
Cheers Stuart!! All fun though eh?
Sandi Brock recommended your channel to her subscribers. You are cool. Will be watching you regularly!
Thanks LG!! Hope u enjoy!
Sandy sent me! Thought I'd let you know!😁
She has gave me a massive boost! I hope u enjoy the channel!
Just heard about you from Sandi over on Sheepishly Me. She said to check out your videos and I loved seeing how well trained your dog was. Looking forward to more.
Thanks Karen. I hope you can cope with my strong Scottish accent and thanks for subscribing!
@@TheSheepGame Yes, I was catching up on old videos of Sandi's and heard about you there. I can barely understand a word of what you say, though!
Loved this.... Real life on the farm. and your Meg is a good girl, she listens so well... such smart dogs, i love them.
Thanks Cathy, Meg is a great help at lambing time!
Very good explanation of lamb positioning and the reality of it all. Thank you.
Thanks Cindy, nice to know it was a good explanation
Great video! Beautiful country and down to earth people!
Loved this video...Cheviots v. Cammy.
Brilliant real life farming video, thanks very much 🍷🍺👍
Chris Needham thanks for the feedback mate much appreciated!
Fun watching you chase the runaway, lol. Now I see the advantage of keeping them in a barn. I do like seeing them in the field though.🇨🇦
Thanks Ruth! Yeah it’s so much easier lambing an a shed but these sheep have never been fed before so they can’t come inside.
Ah, I’m learning.
Love the dramatic music 😁
Haha love the t shirt your wearing
Placemakers and speights ale house
I'm sure you have heard this many times but I love to hear you talk. I have to be honest sometimes I don't understand what you are saying I just rewind lol
Great videos.

New listener sent from Sandi. Love seeing how your accent comes across on the translation. Lol!
Thanks for coming to have a look at the channel Kimberly, haha some of the translation would be a little off!
Excellent, I just put up my first you tube post, lambing in Central Ontario, Canada. Nothing of them actually lambing but I have nice new lambs dropping here in the snow.
Cammy, really enjoy you, Lizzi and the adventures in sheep.
I'd forgotten about Cheviots! Good sheep as long as you never have to go near them!

@@TheSheepGame Thanks for the answers. It is sad about Meg not being a mother. I didn't know that could happen with dogs.
I love watching your video's I wish they were longer
Tracy Caple thanks for the comment! Trying to find a balance as i don’t want to bore people😊
Lizzie is a ROCKSTAR!
Lizzie is a BEAST, my kind of "girl". Gotcha a good one 🙆🏻♀️
That really is one incredible woman you've got there. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Time goes fast,I'm quite entertained especially lambing
Fantastic video it’s nice to see I’m not the only one with the odd nutters 😂
Steve Richardson 😁 we’re all in it together right now! Hope lambing going well!!
The Sheep Game yes mate just about done pleased yours seem to have turned a corner looks like your having some nice strong lambs.
These videos are awesome. Keep it up 👍
Conor Teague thanks for watching mate!
Been there done that. As you say “thats lambing”
Enjoyed the video

David Nicolson all fun and games at this time of year!! Thanks for watching as always! Hope this weather keeps up!!
@@TheSheepGame the good weather is only just starting up here
Lizzie is amazing!!! ❤️❤️
I'm one of Sandi's flock pun intended That ewe was one crazy mama Your dog is lovely she's listening to every word
Hi Penelope! Thanks for coming over =D
Man, that was quite the incident !!! Surprised the lambs held on,
JAMES Rivis worked out good for the camera haha
This reminds me of “Little Bo-Peep” & “Mary Had a Little Lamb” from Nursery Rhymes (1983)
Sandi Brock sent me to your channel from sheepishly me She said to check out your channel
She just felt like a swim mate…. Lol 😂
Awe Cammie, she just wanted a wash-up after birthing her lambs
Lambing is indeed a hard time for every farmer. My father always used to say that unfortunately where there is stock there is loss and sometimes there is nothing you can do about it.
True that. Where there is livestock there is dead stock😁
@@TheSheepGame True, true...
‘Some mad fetish’ 😂😂
Roland Matthews we like what we like haha
It makes you wonder how sheep made it as a breed!
They were probably all little icelandic things before we started messing around with them lol

Yeah they can be hard work but the lambs are looking tremendous now😁😁
This one sounds squishy. I guess we all come out squishy, anyway.
What a rascal she is! Made me laugh! 🤦♀️🤣
Haha some lass
Superb, videos banter and info.

Thanks John! Appreciate the comment!

Glad you enjoyed the videos Donna, hopefully your son-in law can help you out with the accent.
The best part is watching the auto subtitles try desperately to keep up and getting it oh so wrong.
Is Twin Lambs, a boy or girl⁉️
So much for sheep not liking water 😝 videos not a bit long lad keep them coming
s00045732 thanks for the feedback!
The ewe lambed the first lamb a long time before you came to her at least you were late 2 hours .
This reminds me of A Christmas Romance (1994)
Great video as always, could you ask Lizzy what brand/type her trousers are, please?
She wears Skogstad which are Norwegian. She works there 3 months of the year as a shearer.
Thanks for a good laugh
Just kidding, I think you both need a gold metal for all that work.
Thanks Kim!
Lizzie is pretty talented at bulldogging, its not her first rodeo.
Kelvin Stewart yeah it lets me mess about with camera and have an easy life 😂
Poor wee lamb but that's live.
8:30 🤣🤣🤣
What about the babies?
I’ve got a story about a bloke, had exactly the same happen to him, but in very steep country, ewe ended up in the creek at the bottom of a gully, better not say on here what happened, but she never had any more lambs
Sheep are unpredictable Chris and always like to get themselves in tricky locations we had a blackie do something similar.
As far as the music, I honestly don't think you need it. But if you do use music maybe just having it lightly in the background. Loved this content
U are right I was playing it too loud back then. I think it’s a little better now?
@@TheSheepGame definitely better now. I just watched some of your new videos.
That sheep was free of her spoon and her lamb so she was off for a night on the town. A girl’s gotta have her bath before she goes out and about…
Hi I’m a vet student from RVC and was wondering if you do lambing placements/work experience! :)
Hi Ren. I really appreciate the offer but i'm not planning any placements this year! If that changes i'll put a post up on my Instagram. =D
@@TheSheepGame okay no problem! Thank you for replying :)
One to leave indoors.

😀🙂
Hi can you make again a lambing assistance Video with the girl?!
Timi Axel will do!
What about Covid?
What about it? An old video this so not sure how it applies.
What breeding is in your meg dog
She’s off a bit at called Snaid in Ayrshire i believe. She’s nothing fancy i just make her look good on camera😁
She's a cracked 👍
Maybe your runaway ewe wasn't a fan of the 'dramatic' music 😉
Could be Lynne, will have to pick a more enticing tune another time!😂
Have 2 new videos on UA-cam called clever Samantha and peppermint have had all the wool sheared off prt1 and prt2

When i started farming an old timer told me you have livestock & you will have dead stock!!! SAD but part of being on a farm.
That's a common saying here too Vickie!
Music...I listen on ear buds and I'm 65. I want to hear when I get to be 94 like my Dad - but he can't hear much at all without hearing aids. Please turn it down.
Thanks for feedback George i’ll lower it in future videos. The one due out this sunday is already done but i’ll drop it a bit for videos after that😁
If you’ve got live ones, you’ve got dead ones mate
Aye have to accept that's the way it is with livestock.
Push her in the water let her learn to swim.
Please no more music. Its fine the way it was.
Darned ewe! She’s not a fan of you!
What a b,,,,,tch ,first sale lambs at foot bye bye very funny tho cheers and good luck
You play with the sheep, you terrify them with dogs. When she was born, she left her children
Yes unfortunately she needed some assistance.
