i think you're right. i've been fighting myself all these years by trying to get into positions that you see the pros doing, like really high hands at the top which i just can't do. i've just got into some of mike adams ideas about going with your own body type with much better results.

It depends on your body dynamics and flexibility
What about activating the glutes, I hear that said all the time. What does that mean?
It's just that vertical move I imagine. Straightening that lead leg for most golfers. Although as they mention it could be a trail leg pushing off the ground for some people.
Agen you "extend" your hips many muscles "fire" including tour glutes.
