I know by now, you know that QUEEN was the name of the group with the lead singer of Freddie Mercury who died in 1991 at the age of 45.
QUEEN’s songs are amazing and I hope you’ve been able to introduce Amber to this song.

Freddie Mercury is the lead singer, and it was he who wrote this masterpiece. It was ahead of its time in 1975. I can still remember the first time I heard it come on the radio, I sat down in front of it and couldn’t tear myself away. I was 16 years old then and I’d never heard anything like it before. Good on you, for someone who has only ever been exposed to rap, I think it’s wonderful to see you trying to broaden your horizons. You are in for a wild ride, because rock music from the 70’s and 80’s could take you on a psychedelic trip for sure. I love Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd but Queen are my favourite, especially Freddie who was an amazing man, both personally and professionally. Did Freddie Mercury have the most perfect voice?
While a typical vibrato will fluctuate between 5.4 Hz and 6.9 Hz,
Mercury's was a massive 7.04 Hz. All in all, Freddie Mercury had
one of the most powerful voices ever known.

I don't know why... I understand that people had different upbringings and different household music tastes.... but every time someone says they've never heard Bohemian Rhapsody it just floors me. Like... what? At the very least, it's part of the movie "Wayne's World", but I suppose I'm getting old now and "Wayne's World" is almost 30 years old. But then, something like the entire audience of 65,000 at a Green Day concert in Hyde Park, London, England sing all of the lyrics and all is right with the world again :) That's a cool video by the way. Green Day actually uploaded it to their channel. The crowd is singing the entire song just before Green Day took the stage. Totally fun and goosebump-y. ua-cam.com/video/cZnBNuqqz5g/v-deo.html

Hello again, Sweetie! Some thoughts about Queen, and Freddy Mercury, from this old broad- for what they're worth.
Freddy was taken from us all too soon, as one of the early well-known victims of the AIDS epidemic, dying on November 24th, 1991. No, the song wasn't describing his struggles with the disease, but was written in 1975 (I was 9!), long before the disease came about. He was diagnosed in 1987, and kept it secret from the public until the night before he died, not just because of the stigma attached to anyone with a diagnosis at the time, but because he had hoped a cure would be discovered before his death. Queen was one of the greatest bands of all time, in my opinion- they certainly broke down musical barriers and successfully blended an operatic style with modern rock in a way that garnered them fans which spanned a huge spectrum of musical genres. There was never the like before, and never will be their like, again.
They did the soundtrack for the movie "Highlander" (1986) by the way.. a great and terrible film, and one of my personal favorites.

The art-deco scenery looked like something straight out of the original comics, and Dino De Laurentis was in his happy comfortable place with production, being able to indulge in the eye-poppingly bold palates and visual drama of costuming the iconic roles presented by the original comics and old cliff-hangar serials.

Awesome reaction, it is great that you are trying different music! Queen is one of the biggest artist of all time, they are the 4th best selling artist of all time, they are British band that was created in 1970. The genre of rock is Progressive rock, it was really a rock opera. The song is about someone who kills a man, and he gives himself over to the authorities, in the end he accepts his fate. The songs goes through the 5 stages of grieve. Bohemian Rhapsody is still one of the most popular songs, it recently received diamond status in America. Queen has a massive catalog and they had over 60 songs that made it onto the charts during Freddie Mercury's life. They did any genre of music, some Queen songs you would likely recognise is Another One Bites The Dust, I Want It All, We Are The Champions and Rock You.
