You still need a 4-5mm guard on the Beardscape. The 3mm on the longest setting is too short for my beard and the 6mm on the shortest setting results in my beard being too long. As you said, the guards are too important to compromise on.
Yo! I recently started to let my moustache and sick grow a but cause i want to get a goataa but pretty clean trimmed en shaved not to long, would this trimmer be good for me to keep it short and clean?
I use the Beardscape with the 1mm guard and the blade set at either 1 or 1.3 mm - so a total length of around 2 mm. If I go shorter than this it starts to look a bit thin and patchy.
At the 13-15mm range guards start to become less effective at properly shaping the beard. At this length its not about running a guard against your skin all over your face and trimming everything to the same length. Using a comb is a great way to trim and shape at this length. You can use a guard to go from the top of your cheek down to your chin, but I wouldn't use a guard for anything else.
Its not really great at anything. Depending on the trimming you are looking to do, there are many better options. If you are looking to do only pubic hair trimming, check out the Meridian original trimmer. If you also want to use it for facial hair or haircuts, check out the Beardscape.
No trimmer I've ever bought (including the Beard Hedger) seems to allow you to trim your moustache to the same length as your beard - the size of the unit and the presence of your nose just seem to prevent it. Do you have any thoughts/recommendations?
I try not to be :/ but its hard. We put a lot of research and thought into the Beardscape so everything on it was chosen for a reason. But I also realize that there's no such thing as one perfect trimmer because everyone has different uses.
Great video, was looking to get the Brio V2 but after seeing this video, I wonder if it trims well at 0, 1 and 2, my beard is quite shortest as it gets. Any suggestions on best device for short to skin beards ? Cheers!
Sure - 1 mm is VERY short stubble. its more like a 5 o'clock shadow. The blade adjusts at 1.0, 1.3, 1.6 and 1.9mm which are all fairly short stubble lengths. There are 1 and 2mm guards that add on to the lengths listed above. if you want to go shorter than 1 mm, its not really a beard, more like a shave. You could use the zero blade that is set at .2 mm. otherwise I would recommend an electric shaver.
This is how reviews should be done. Amazing work, thank you for the detailed, professional insight!!
Thanks!
Been waiting for this breakdown. Thanks

OK! will discuss with the product development team!
great video I'm now having doubts lol do you think it's worth getting the beard hedger at a 70$ price point today?
This is like Pepsi doing a review for Coke

What's your favorite trimmer for maintaining a short, even beard like your own?

Best trimmer for an 13-15mm beard? Been looking around for one to keep my beard the same length and maintain it at about 13 and 15

Hey, if you had only 1 to buy, would it be the philips 9000 ?
The Phillips 9000 is great if you really want the adjustable guard system. Otherwise I'd go with the Beardscape V2.
How’s that beard hedger on personal areas. ?

I have an annoyingly similar issue. Even with the manscaped foil shaver I bought a few months ago.
This 💯
Yeah, at some point you are just running the guards into your nose. For longer mustaches I would trim without the guard, using a comb as the guide.
What happened to the Brio Axis?
I want the length you have. What shaver do you use regularly?
I trim to about 2 mm. I usually use the 1mm guard with the blade all the way up.
@@brioproductgroup1956 which shaver do you use?
you work for brio, so how do we know your not biased?

It is easy to purchase similar body trimmer or beard trimmer from China. Our factory export beard trimmer and body trimmer many years
Which. Number do you use?
That is about 3-4mm. I usually use the 1mm or 2mm guard with the blade all the way down (1.9mm)
Tell me one more time how the steel and ceramic blades differ... 😂
Are you seriously trying to compare a freaking yard brush to a beard!? I should hope It can't cut that
What's your favorite beard trimmer rn?
My Favorite is the Beardscape V2!
I think the beard trimmer manscape is a piece of crap. It doesn’t cut remotely close without the guard. And it’s a very uneven cut
cutting wet hair is the worst thing ever
