I have lived and breathed this aircraft since 1998. I can tell you with experienced authority that this model build is one of the finest representations of a real world 15E I have ever seen. Most excellent work, Scale Hangar 182. Best darn Mud Hen ever made from polystyrene. Shit Hot!
That looks awesome! I'm on the fence with Revell kits personally. I did their 109F Trop and it was a fit nightmare. Fast forward to their B-17F and that was a filler queen to with warped wings. Maybe I've just ended up with Friday kits but this looks awesome. Guess I'll have to try a third Revell kit to see.
Revell have a few gems. This kit and their mig 25 (which is a rebox) are great most of their other kits are cheap because they are not very good. I find when it comes to jets hobby boss are great value for money.
To be fair, until recently with the release of the GWH 1/48 F-15E, Revells version was by far the best out there, I'm a regular at RAF Lakenheath, believe me Revells kit is very accurate, far better than tamiya's and other 'top ranking' kit manufacturers efforts.
Looks good, but IMO rust was the wrong color to use for corrosion/dirt/weathering. Aluminum makes a blackish power when it corrodes and planes like to leak oil and hydraulic fluid which collects blackish dirt and grime.
Absolutely fantastic work. I love your attention to detail. Every one of your builds are great. If your up to it, I'd love to see how far you can push the envelope, such as a model with battle damage or a kit-bash of a couple of your favorites. Great work, can't wait to see more.
Very nicely done. About the only thing it could have used was maybe the engine nozzle covers to match the intake covers. I enjoy learning techniques to help me be a better modeler
Absolutely stunning work. A little thing I'd mention (But this is not for degrading the model itself) is that on the F-15E they usuall put the AIM-120's on the outer pylons and the AIM-9's on the inners just to prevent flutter. A little something to know.
Flat-out beautiful. Really. I fondly recall the days of watching F-15s sortie out of Kadena... Two minor critiques, if I may: 1. I think the panel line emphasis is a little overboard. Just a little. Not every line needs to be emphasized, as some selective weathering would create a more prototypical appearance. 2. I believe there should be "Remove Before Flight" streamers hanging from the main landing gear. I'm enjoying your work. Keep it up! Thanks for sharing.
Lovely model. The RBF tags really make it stand out. I have built the Academy F-15, lovely aircraft, but had major issues with the decals. Keep building!
David, you have made a fan out of me with your videos. I've been building models for a long time, but I've never really mastered the art of 'finishing' the model. Your skill and creativity is as good as anyone posting on YT. I've learned several new techniques and you've inspired me to try once again to improve my airbrushing skills. I only wish you offered classes. I'm kinda tired of putting great effort into building a model only to muck it up with a train wreck of a paint job. Maybe I'll improve through osmosis! Thanks much.

Yes its the same one David, but I think mine is from a later example and the mold does not look as clean as yours....there is a lot of flash on many sprue parts and right wing is warped from the mold, CFT tanks were not a nice fit and needed a lot of preparation etc... the cockpit was ok but some other parts were tricky to assemble to say the least and I am a very experienced modeller. I have never done so much sanding and filling! Some parts like the engine exhaust nozzle actuator rods were mishapen and even different lengths. Also, Revell say "Drill these holes" but do not tell you what diameter to drill them and they did not tell you to weight the nose either. Luckily I know about these things but looking forward to my next kit from Tamiya! What did you do with the canopy centre seam?

Hello I’m making the same model But the brand it different I’m making F-15k slam eagle 1/48 . The brand is academy. For me it’s really hard to paint the model aircraft. I saw that u did well. I’m making it in Korea hope u let me know the way to paint it

Thank you for the rock salt technique in this way! I've uses this technique a number of times to achieve heavy weathering but it would have never occured to me to use it in this way. Also, nice to see someone I consider one of the better builders I sub to making good use of a Revell kit.
Excellent work, having made this model several years ago (and nowhere near the high standard of yours) I remember the instructions calling out for the interior of the air brake to be white, however as someone who spends what seems like half my life around F-15E's I know this area is the same colour as the rest of the aircraft, dark gunship grey I believe. Also the air con grill directly behind the cockpit canopy is bare metal (aluminium). As I said awesome work :)

This is actually one of my older models and today i would do it probably better. I suggest to have a look on my channel for newer videos however if you are beginner this one might be helpful.
I've personally have done work on this real life jet as a sheet metalist and corrosion (paint) specialist. If you want any tips on how the jet looks today ask and I will be happy to give you information.
For instance I'm sure you may know the current paint code is 36118. Glare shields in cockpit instrument guages and side button panels, and surrounding structure are flat black.
I am no longer on the fence with Revell kits , the bottom line is they are CRAP ! . Revell is famous for deceptively packaging " their" products . Sometimes they put a Revell model in the box and its usually a dog with a multitude of problems . Sometimes they rebrand and rebox some other mfgs kit and it may be a really great model depending who originally produced it , like this F-15E , but you have to research the kit before you buy or more often than not you will be sorry . I recently was really excited about Academy's recent release of a 1/32 F4-E , until I found out it is a reboxed and new decaled old Revell piece of garbage kit that they don't mind charging $ 127 for . So be careful and remember Revell is French for Avoid !
I am at the stage of researching the kits everytime I am building something and usually going for the best sometimes it's the most expensive option except for when there is no other kit of the particular subjects than something old and not too great. I know your feeling about the revell. They also had this super predatory marketing of slapping big yellow "NEW" on reboxes of their old kits. they have a few good kits but I do avoid Revell. I hate the marketing, boxes, their painting charts, some manuals are really bad and some latest kits are even pretty bad..
Don’t criticize this guy unless you are a build expert yourself. I just finished a Tamiya 1/32 F-14 and it was a hard build. I’m pleased if people look at it and recognize it as an F-14. He did fine. Hand painting small parts is not easy.

In the military for over 20 years I never saw a F-15 that dirty up, last station your RAB, Germany saw plenty of them, and even a tried crew would never let there aircraft go like that, check out a few books on Storm you may see what I’m talking about, other than that nice build.
Looks awesome, only critique is that instrument panel coaming should be black. It is an anti-glare surface. Otherwise it’s a thing of beauty, this is my local squadron from mountain home. The Mighty MO!
My F-15 video is coming out in a few months. Not time lapsed. What is the stuff you are using while painting the cockpit at the beginning? it seems to just syphon itself into the lines. i haven't experimented with washes or anything like that yet, but looks impressive. I love haters by the way. Their videos are so fun to watch. Oh wait... they don't have any.

Well I’ll say this about the Tamiya kits the 1/32 Spitfire is arguably the best model kit produced. Well worth the build. Nice work on this kit.

정성이 정말 후덜덜.....근데 그냥 한 번만 dark 스프레이로 뿌리면 되지, 왜 흰 거를 밑바탕에다 하는 지 모르겠슴. 나도 1/72 strike eagle 만들어 봤지만, 그냥 대충 만들었지, 이렇게나 세심한 정성을 쏟지는 않았는데...정말 대단하심.

Are you sure you Build The same F-15E model? As this one was pretty easy and it's considered one of the best "E" in 1/48 scale on the market

What is funny this kit came out in 2000 without bombs but then was repopped again this time with bombs.

Plastic Model Builder I think it's panel line accent color. Tamiya makes it in black, grey and maybe some other colors.
