Nice to hear how much he was looking forward to England. It was a fact that he loved London, particularly Ronnie Scott's. And England loved him - it still does. It always will. A supreme talent. A difficult man, yet driven by the pursuit of absolute excellence. We wont see his like again
Beautiful looking Ludwigs...and correctly set up for a change...one rack tom only, although only one floor tom.. No where for his towel , without the second one 🙂
The perfect kit...4 drums...not a million like today and a million cymbals, so you can’t even see the drummer. I always wonder what those drummers are like, on a basic 4 piece kit, like here.

Jeepers CREEPERS that was a solo. And in amongst a generally great piece of music. Funny how this old footage compares favourably with modern videos of people, erm, just playing very quickly to impress you.
I miss Buddy and Johnny. Rest in Peace guys.
Two show biz giants. They were so good at what they did. Johnny was a drummer, but not on the level of Buddy.

He took a shuffle to a whole 'nother level right there...Always full of surprises..Great!!
I love how the drum solo kept the feeling of a shuffle
Phenomenal
This was on my birthday, I just turned 13 years old! I became a drummer one year later!🥁👌that was William Devine sitting next to Buddy Rich 🥁👏
What a guy! I would have given anything to just be able to hang with Buddy for a couple days...nice performance as well!
Buddy's definitely playing in that Big Band in the Sky!
These conversations are very enjoyable. I'm drawn by the music of course but I find myself very interested in hearing him talk.
They mention Michael Parkinson. Buddy did his last interview in 1987 with Parkinson. Good interview.

Love Carson and Rich both.
Both had so much class. Ed and Doc as well.
Newsome had alot of class too.
Thanks
nice way to travel, going from gig to gig with Buddy on the bus....on second thought, maybe not....
Don't worry. If you played ok he would not applaud you or praise you,...he would just let you live.!,
That certainly had my toes a tappin'.
Always a class act.
Blisterin Buddy was on it ...Thank U
Keep the rich on Carson coming!
I agree, love to see them.
He has to hold the record for appearances on Carson??

The tune is called Mr C's Boogie. Anyone know the composer or arranger?
Great chart but no clue as to whom the arranger is.
Mr. C, as in Mr. Carson, I wonder?

Supraphonic or Supersentitive...?
Supraphonic, Ludwig LM400 snare drum. Superpersensitive same drum shell, but a different strainer. More expensive.
