  • The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office presents “Badges and Tattoos.”
The Sheriff’s Office aims to represent a professional appearance to the public while allowing our employees to express their personal experiences, cultural backgrounds, tributes to loved ones, and unique symbolization through tattoos.
Tattoos serve as a connection in diverse work environments and communities. Watch as Master Deputy High, Sergeant Culberson, Sergeant Morales, Master Deputy Salazar, Master Deputy Stephens, and Sheriff Processing Associate II Ms. Boyd share the meaning behind their tattoos.
If you are interested in joining the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office and have additional questions about our tattoo policy, visit GwinnettCountySheriff.org/recruitment. Be sure to save the date for the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office Become A Star Career Expo on October 15th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Note: Employment with the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office depends upon if the tattoo displays offensive or inappropriate content. A tattoo is considered offensive or inappropriate if it:
    1. Depicts, describes, or otherwise refers to sexual conduct, acts, organs, or preferences.
    2. Depicts, describes, or refers to intolerance of, or discrimination against, any race, color, creed, religion, gender, and/or national origin.
    3. It is commonly associated with any organization or group which advocates such intolerance or discrimination.
    4. Depicts obscene or vulgar language.
    5. It is excessive.
    6. Brings discredit to the agency or violates standards of decency or morality.

I'm actually glad to see this video. I'm a Georgia resident and got covered in tattoos when I was 18/19 (now in my 30s) and wanting to go into law enforcement. Now when you google this, its hard to even make out what the clear policies are so im just going to go down to the department and see. But videos like this make me hopeful.

I find it hard to comprehend why individuals would intentionally harm their own bodies and be content with it. I come from a place where tattoos were not well accepted, but now they are part of the mainstream culture. I am committed to staying true to the values and beliefs of my generation. As an adamant opponent of tattoos, I hold the strong belief that they are not the best form of self-expression. Everyone has their own personal taste and opinions when it comes to tattoos. While some may find them interesting, others may not be a fan of them. It's all a matter of personal preference and individuality. At the end of the day, what's important is to respect others' choices and live your life the way you want to.

The freemasons forced all Baltimore city police officers with tattoos to wear long sleeves. There goal was to get me to have laser tattoo removal. This plan failed horribly. The results lead to me getting more tattoos and the police department later changing the rule back.
