Homemade Airsoft Hop-Up Bucking/Rubber for Tanaka

- Just a semi-quick overview of my homemade cast hop-up rubber for my Tanaka AICS. Rubber is Vytaflex 50 from Smooth-On, all other parts made by me. Any questions, comments, concerns, please feel free to post and I'll answer the best I can. Thanks!
Also, I am aware factory made hopups are more complex and refined, thus the cost, this is a way for me to make relatively simple buckings at home to suit my needs. Just wanted to share in case anyone else has thought of this as well. - Розваги
Thanks for the comments. I tested it out last week with a newly installed ER-Hop and the results are awesome. Although just the bucking in used for a seal now, it made my shots more consistent (+/- 1-3 fps); and therefor more accurate.
And I agree, you don't really need schooling (unless you make it a career) to learn how to machine. I just have the cheaper HF 7x10 mini lathe and I'm in the process of building a mill. It's all fairly simple once you know what to do through trial and error.
Hey, thanks! :) The hop up project is complete. I ended up using a G&G chamber, machining the original sealing chamber and the G&G one so make a slot for the ER-Hop. So far it's working perfectly, sending .40's out to 300' accurately. I might do another video in the future showing how I did it. Next on the drawing board is an adjustable LRB barrel end cap.
Really nice work man.
inspiring and ingenious,thanks.
Good to know. Looking forward for that video ;)
Awesome.
I made my hop rubber molds with MicroMark 4-hour RTV. I never thought about using a mill. That's a good idea! Very tidy looking.
Shoot me a message, I can provide pics of the R-Hop mold that I made.
Put a 9v motor down beside the mold on your steal plate. And after you are fin up the molding turn it on and off a few times to shake out some of the air bubbles just before you start to let it set .. nice vid .
Nice! Can't wait for results. Hope you do a test run with AEG's. Especially with m190 spring setups. Would like to see the accuracy and how efficent the compression is. When do we expect to see results?
You inspire me to go back to a college to learn how to mill and lathe.
Lol as soon as you mentioned Machined I was out !!!
Hi,
Did you used release agent? How do you put mold apart, because urethane is very sticky?
Could i buy some from you i just got the take down model
how much would you be willing to sell that hopup cast?
The home made rubber is a great idea, but the chamber for the ER-Hop is out of this world. How is that project going?
did youo used release agent?

Yes u can use it. Makes sure you make the nub too
Haha. Very true.
