thanks as always for posting, I see how to make the flat hop now, however my guns are all rhop complete and I love it. next build I will test it out. still excited to see you all here in Mississippi in January. keep in touch!
I personally like the Maple leaf nubs, I use them in most of my AEGs. I use them either alone on a stock bucking that i cut the fin and bump off of or in conjunction with a maple leaf bucking which has the flat bump to match the nub. Air seal on the Maple leaf bucking is also good with the ribs.

I installed a modified a maple leaf bucking into a flat hop bucking and installed a namazu flat hop nub. Worked great my WE M4 GBBR, but on my WE SCAR-L GBBR, I didn't have enough hop, had to add an F-key as a spacer between the nub and bucking. I know it's a derpy solution, but it worked.

Just throwing this out as a suggestion G&G green buckings are also good I've never had an issue fitting one into any barrel or hop up and they perform great
The G&G Green buckings are definitely good as well. 8) At the time this was filmed (2014) we had not really carried them and they weren't as popular back then. Thanks for your input!
I used the prommy blue with an s-hopped barrel and it works great. Think it might work even better with a hard spacer.
The G&G Green bucking is also a good choice for this mod from what I've used.

I have a snow wolf barrett, and I want to flat hop it. It has an m150 spring and a madbull 6.01, so it's shooting very hot. I haven't chronoed it yet, but the previous owner said it was about 570 fps. I want to buy a PDI 6.05, and a prowin chamber, or a laylax neo strike chamber. Does the hardness of the bucking matter if you're flat hopping it? Should I flat hop a harder bucking for an AEG that's shooting this hot? What bucking would you recommend?

Even the red Prometheus Air Seal Hop-Up Hard Type very very bad, i had problem today the gun it doesn't shot (the gearbox sound) looks like using died battery the won't go out the barely can't reach 5 meter..
I don't understand, when u flat hop does the bb float up then gradually fall or does it fly straight further compared to stock?

Great video guys! But I have a question, would the configuration of hop up, that you guys are running, work on a katana m4? And how do you tell if a certain hop up can work for a gun?
I used this Flat Hop Video as a guide for me to upgrade my Ares Amoeba AM-013.

I want to do this exact Flat Hop upgrade on my KWA SR7. The problem is, a lot of parts are proprietary on this AEG. Is it possible to fit a prommy purple bucking with the namazu nub in the excisting hop up chamber of the KWA?

Hey Justin. I was learning how to take out hopup and reinstall it in gun, just so I can learn ya know. I was having feeding and jam issues after the fact. Can the feeding and jam issues be because my spacer was to far forward? Does adjusting really cause stuff like that to happen? I have a polarstar fusion engine by the way. Thanks!

I'm fairly new to Airsoft (My kids got me into it). I've been playing around and learning the in's and outs of gearboxes....
I have an Umarex G36C.... I see you guys sell those. What's your experience doing a flat hop on them? I really want to turn it into a DMR.... Semi-only mod, 18" barrel.... Do the Umarex G36's take a specail hop? I see you have the prowin in M4 and AK.... The AK should also be a V.3 gearbox... is it interchangeable by any chance?

You can definitely install a flat hop into the G36. It utilizes a standard nub to our knowledge. When it comes to hop units for the G36, there aren't a ton out there. Prowin does make one, but I'm not 100% sure if it's compatible with the Umarex G36. For all intents and purposes it should be though. The gearbox internals are interchangeable with V3 type parts for the most part. Hope this helps!
Would you recommend flat hopping the Tippman or just getting the Prommy purp bucking and the TDC drop in mod for the Tippman?
So would you recommend getting the Orga over a normal 6.03 tightbore? The extra work for the tighbore isnt that hard but would the price of an Orga be worth it over a Madbull 6.03?
I just flat hopped my Krytac and the difference is night and day!
So I have two questions on the flat hop nub do you have to cut one side completely and leave one with a little bit material and for the bucking do you completely trim off the guide in that little nub that's on there

Quick Question, So on a normal barrel besides the orga, you install the bucking inside out even after you shave off all the nub thingies in it? essentially making the bucking completely flat right? Is this done on all buckings besides the Prommy Purple? say if i use a mapleleaf or even the firefly buckings?

Quick question - I'm having issues with three different flat hop setups, all are hooking badly to the left after 40 ft. When used through an aeg they shoot fine. any ideas on how I can fix this for my HPA setups? I use a Wolverene Inferno

hi amped, i took your advise and use the purple soft bucking Prometheus with the prowin house and the fire fly nub, i have serious feed jam where the bb pull the lip up and in itself and jams the bb stuck!
both my dmr and cqb does this!

Quick one, but once you remove the insides of the bucking what's stopping the air from leaving out the thin channel on the barrel?

leonard hawken Good question - the answer is typically nothing is stopping it. On my barrels I typically just put a dab of super-glue in the channel, and then use the floss tying mod to secure the bucking if it doesn't fit tight in the hop up chamber.
when i turn the purple bucking inside out and shave off rubber do turn the bucking back right side out before installing on the barrel or do i install the bucking while it is inside out????

With a 363mm 6.02 tightbore barrel flathopped with a prowin and prommy bucking (using the namazu nub) at 400 fps with .3s perfect compression ect any estimates on range? Any reply is greatly appreciated!
Hi ! again my bucking got problem with the bb can go through it without stoping unless you push down the nut to hold it , if not the bb will come out from the barrel just like that , so I wonder why ?

TURN THE BUCKING INSIDE IN NOT INSIDE OUT! Just spent 2 hours doing this to my Krytac and had all kinds of mis-feeding and low FPS issues because I left the bucking inside out. The texture on the outside of the bucking is different from the texture on the inside. Turn the bucking back INSIDE IN after you finish flat-hopping the bucking.

@@barryrobinson4575 you don't have to do this anymore. Every airsoft shop sells flat hop buckings that are flat inside already. I use the modify ryusoku flat hop bucking and flat nub and it works beautifully

So I watched this video a few times used a prommy purple bucking and pro win chamber. Even the prommy 6.03 tight bore barrel. To flat hop it only piece I am missing is the metal part that set in the flat hop nub.

I made one the prommy nub is to soft so I made a piece of metal to fill the void it the prommy nub.
Are the Prometheus nubs wider than the firefly? Are they still thin enough to fit in a prowin?
i have a polarstar jack and does my barrel length have to do with anything- im using all flat hop parts ^ in the video i started using a standard nub instead of the firefly because it didn't work like a flathop- but it works now like a regular hop
When it comes to barrel length, the longer it is, the more FPS it will have. So essentially the longer the barrel, the more efficient it can be since you can run at a lower PSI and achieve the same FPS per given PSI.
Hmmm the fire fly didn't work like a flat hop? Not sure I follow. Did you remove the nub inside your bucking, rotate it, so that the flat part of the bucking was touching the BB when the Firefly was depressed?

So hold on, for the regular tightbore you install the bucking with the original outside inwards? i.e. the marks from cutting off the ridge and nub would be outside and visible, yes?
+Juke Airsoft Realized it a couple minutes after asking. The feed lips would be reversed.
What can you say about MAPLE LEAF CONCAVE TENSIONER?
And what hop up rubber do you recommend? We have madbull available in my place and I am using M165/SP160.

We have many customers who utilize the maple leaf concave tensioner and like it, especially for the price. Each nub and bucking have their pros and cons for each application. The best thing we can say is to take the time and do experimenting to find the setup that works best for you.

I like the video, but completely disagree with the first statement. If you actually know how to correctly tune an rhop, they vastly outperform a normal flathop.
On that note, as a tech myself, I almost always refer customers to flathop instead of rhop because it takes much less time, is easier to tune/install and still does perform nicely.
Agreed, although offer R hop installs rather than recommend flat hop

Why do you have to cut the nub? Isn't the nub window size standardized for all hop up units?

After it is flat hopped is the Nub supposed to be uneven on both sides? if so, does anyone have some close up pictures so I can get a better look so I can flat-hop it correctly
Do you guys know the best nub to run with a modify xrange ive tried a promi flat blue i was really over hopping with it even with the tdc knob out of the the chamber on. 36 never tried it with .40 and higher, factory tti round nub, acted more like it should, but i have major curving issues, still on .36, and mapleleaf omega, that i still have slighly better curving with but still over hopping slightly .36 feeds consistently but curves too much, .40 feeds ok, with slightly better curving. . 45g curves way less but doesnt feed as well Vsr 10, tti TDC aa teflon cylinder, aa piston, modify ssx 6.03 inner barrel. Hey guys, is there any difference between the first gen prowin vs the newer ones? I've noticed a clear difference in the paint used on the different versions. The older gens are like a shiney blue where as the new ones are a matte/flat blue finish
+Alex Moore Prowin hops are anodised, not painted, so the difference would be caused by the surface finish of the metal. The matte finish would be less polished, but could also be harder anodising.

So for the tight bore once you trim those two pieces off do you turn the bucking back right side out or leave it inside out
Once finished, you turn it back right side out and rotate it slightly so that the part you just removed is not in the hop window.
