- Brian Eslick from How to Automotive www.howtoautomotive.com/ go's on a trip to Milwaukee to see some new tools from Milwaukee Tool at their 2024 Pipeline event. Her are the details on the new Gen 2Stubby. Our next generation M12 FUELTM Stubby Impact Wrenches delivers the Most Power, Are
Lighter Weight & More Compact while delivering 50% Faster Application speeds. Leveraging
POWERSTATETM Brushless Motor, The Stubby Delivers 0-3,000 RPM with up to 550 ft-lbs of
Nut Busting Torque, allowing the removal of the most corroded and stubborn applications. Our
solution delivers on performance and size, at only 2.2 lbs bare tool. Users will experience less
fatigue throughout their work week while fitting into tight spaces and allowing access where larger
impacts can't fit without using additional accessories or disassembling components to reach the
desired fastener. Equipped with Tri LED work lights to illuminate your work area without the
frustration of shadows. 4-Mode DRIVE CONTROLTM for greater precision and customization to
your desired power output, including AUTO SHUT-OFFTM that applies no more than 15 ft-lbs of
torque for hand-tight applications that prevent overtightening when in forward. In reverse, bolt
removal mode will slow down the RPM once the bolt is free to prevent bolts from flying around
your work area. To change the modes, it is a single-handed operation. By shifting the
forward-reverse shuttle into neutral and double-tapping the trigger, you will be able to change
modes effortlessly. Kitted with our M12TM REDLITHIUMTM HIGH OUTPUTTM XC5.0 & CP2.0 Battery
Pack that delivers 25% more power, runs 25% cooler, and is chemical resistant to protect
against exposure to common oils, greases, and solvents.

Can wait Torque test channel dynoing this tool
I instantly thought the same thing
If it was anywhere near that number, they would have a dyno to demo it 😂
Had my gen 2 for 3 years and it's help up incredibly well can't wait for this
I wish Milwaukee would work out a way to have halo lights on their tools. Would make them king of kings.
Yo this revision sounds crazyyyyyy, as long as it doesnt grenade like that other milwaukee tool
I’m going to conquer the world when I get mine💪🏼
@@joelopez40oz23 I bet you will!
The new Stubby is pretty compelling! My OG Stubby has been sleeping most of the time since the M18 Gen2 Mid arrived - love the lights and the power, and it goes in nearly all the same spots - but the new Stubby has all of that and still super-light! Might have to pick one up - seems like a great road-bag tool...
Lots of improvement on this tool..
Awesome 😮for m12 stubby
This is badass
550 is insane. Gonna have to run it in mode 2 for most my applications. Going to wake for reviews when it drops but will definitely pick this up.
@@authorityfigure1630 I should have it in my hand shortly and I will definitely be making a real life in use review of it.
It would be a good idea is they made the same version for the m18 compact impact wrench with 550ft
B/s my 3/8 mid torque m18 dont have have 600 as they claim dont get me wrong i still love it i use it everyday i still have to grab my air impact
Stubby Gen1 had a flaw actually. There’s this nub above handle towards back where it tends to rub your hand. Gets annoying every time I grab the tool. Good thing they fixed that on Gen2
Can't wait to have it🤔🤔🤔
Me too!!
I am anxiously waiting to see real world tests on this. I've been considering buying the M18 Mid Torque to bridge the gap between my existing M12 Stubby and my M18 High Torque. But if it is anywhere close to being an accurate power rating, I'll be buying this instead.
@@BlueOvalTavern I can’t wait to get it in my hand and put it to work as well. Overall, you can’t go wrong with the mid torque it’s an awesome tool.
That's a monster
@@oscarflores-wr8re I agree!
Just in time. Been wanting to sell my ridgid stubby 1st gen for this. I just need a 1/2" version to go along with a 3/8"
@@ricksgiggle8852 you will love it!
how much torque again?
threaded inserts in the handle :O sweet baby jesus I can't wait
I need it immediately
@@2ndsam302 me too!
Me three
This sounds awesome. But, the last time they redesigned a tool that was already damn good, they made it weaker and it kept breaking on people to the point they had to recall it. I just hope they learned their lesson.
@@mwess997 This is definitely a big upgrade and I think people are really gonna love it.
Honestly, how do they make it better outside of more torque specs from Gen 1, we have literally tried to destroy ours not purposely of course but constant use and it just keeps going and works flawlessly. Our issue is battery life with the smaller M12 series,
just have plenty of HIGH OUTPUT's at your disposal.
Omg! Stop bending me over for the new gen! What a difference this will be!
@@Anonymous..VQ3.5Lg35 it’s going to be a game changer!
@@HowtoAutomotive yes it will be!
@@HowtoAutomotive i got the new 2967 what beast!
Now can’t wait for the new mid torque at some point to complete the next gen trio of new impacts trio🔥🔥
Pointless who needs a midtorque at this point😂
@@sharpie132 can’t wait until they release a new mid torque, I heard it’s in the working. This new stubby will get most of the work done, I still love my mid torque though, just looking for the next gen, 🔥💯but you kinda have a point💯
Does the 15lbs limit when tightening mean I can only torque my tires up to that amount?
@@MyShinobiWay617 no that setting is for when you just wanna snug something up, but you don’t wanna torque it. Basically running it into a touches then you can switch over to a torque wrench or whatever.
Wait so the last switcheroo test was a trick?🤔🤔
I never use the different modes just go to high all the time and my gen 1 is plenty of power. if I need more I grab my big dewalt
@@MrCubflyer I rarely change the modes myself
Cant wait for these to come out! I'm getting two 1/2in and one 3/8 😅
@@Rozwell007 me too!
Bro I want the clear colour. 😢
550? U say 😮
Omg'd your making me buy more tools to my Milwaukee collection...shame on you😂😂😂
@@jsalga lol sorry not sorry 😎
"Nut busting torque". Goober comment.
How about m18?
@@RexinOridle The M18 has been out for a couple years already.
I need the m18 to get beefed up too. The current one is only 250 ft lbs
@@HowtoAutomotive Sorry, I meant the m18 compact. Current on e is only 250 lbft.
@@RexinOridleyes it's weak SAUCE have beat it with my new Flex Compact Impact Wrench

Sure it has more power but how long does it last? It's just gonna break faster😒
tbh that mode change gonna have way more false positive than actual usage....

@@evanscj86 and my cans!
If you only would start providing individual replacement parts at decent price and start using brand bearings...
550 = bold face lie.
550 more like 350 who’s ready for the bets.
Will be getting mine in less then 2 months and Testing the Crap out of it like I do all the time

@@2ndsam302 nope wish I could got to these events might try to next year just Ordered it fast and if I complain enough might get it sooner then most people I was the First to get the FLEX MID to Impact WRENCH even faster then TTC because they had me send it to them last spring
i’d sayer closer to 450, milwaukee impact claim are closer than snap on 😂
To be fair they said 250 for the current gen and plenty of UA-cam channels saw higher numbers than 250. Milwaukee is usually very reasonable with their torque numbers.
What the hell 550😂
I didn`t expect to see Charles @humblemechanic in this video 😅👌
Would be better if its 750 ft. Pounds
@@soupbums it would be better if it had 1 million
No more power
Great tools but the ergonomics still suck. The handles are still too fat due to the battery unfortunately.
