pushing the tool doing work it´s not designed to do makes it loud, not as loud as DCF850 but still loud. doing the work its designed for (small fasteners) its a lot quieter than regular impact drivers. UA-camrs never show small impact drivers doing the work they are designed for.

have enough dewalt to sink a small boat, but got a free hydraulic m12 from Milwaukee promo because I bought a Milwaukee m12 riveter. The m12 lives on my tool cart, it's my favorite one. Quiet yes, weaker too but its m12 compared to 20v max that I use rest of the time, but where I really noticed it lately was working on some cabinet drawers - it was fine tuning, I would easily add a 1/4 turn with the Milwaukee hyd m12 and the normal impacts which were all dewalt would like suddenly bury the screw which was not acceptable in that application. I was using 3 impacts at the same time, one had the pilot bit, and then I had 2 different screw bits, it was night and day difference... would really like to try this hyd dewalt because hyd seems like the way to go

I have tested both side to side. I you are using this for what its designed for its much quieter. Straining the tool doing stupid speed tests that have nothing to do with real world work will make it loud. just like the Milwaukee Surge. What is actually amazing is that dcf870 is as fast as the DCF850 or even faster. where this one shines is with smaller fasteners indoors. Your ears will thank you for buying it.

Please give an example of what two on the M 12 line is ergonomically superior to the equivalent to walk. Don’t even get me started about the battery release tabs. If you truly believe that you’re in a small % if so, Much more expensive may have been a better choice in words when you wanna talk down to someone

Can never tell by video without a real decibel meter. For example, go watch Dewalt Stealthsonic vacuum videos. The reviewer will say "oh man, this is so quiet!" and the decibel meter will read a lot less. But the audio from the video have the two sound exactly the same. They're not using manual level set mics, so it adjusts the levels to be even.
