Only three channels in the sid chip and the bgm uses them all. Something has to give way when a sound effect is cued.
Over 30 years ago... and we´ve had so much fun fun fun :-D
some say there was Great Giana Kart
Is *that* what they say?
NickInfante1992 There are allegedly a couple of unreleased Giana games for Nintendo 64 and Hyper Neo Geo 64. One is more a Super Mario 64 clone, but the stages and enemies are somewhat different, and you play as Giana rather than Mario of course. The other one is a 2D sprite-based remake of the original game with 64-bit graphics, similar to how All-Stars had enhanced remakes of the Super Mario Bros. series.
Their existence is a mystery to pretty much everyone except those involved in making it, and I think the prototypes are locked in a vault somewhere in Europe.
NickInfante1992 I'd rather not. I'd much rather attack by pressing a button than swinging my arm like an idiot.
Giana has since made a comeback with Giana Sisters DS and Twisted Dreams. ;3
Hopefully it won't be another 20+ years before we see them again, *****.
I lied about the games on Nintendo 64 and Neo Geo by the way.
Way better than SMB, better music, better levels, better everything.
you must of stayed up all night when you were younger.
Well we used the level skip key combination to speed up the game play :)
Great game - very well made. Excellent tunes. Possibly my fave ever.
But that ending was sooooo unsatisfying when you got to it.
Super mario bros:who are you?
Giana sisters:we are you but girls
This was my childhood,8,1 :D
