This model sleeps up to six adults in three separate berths; is powered by a fuel efficient 320 HP Volvo Inboard Diesel engine; has solar panels and storage for SUPs, kayaks, bikes, you name it; and perhaps our favorite feature - you can beach it! As much as I like the traditional, workboat-like look of the classic Ranger Tugs, this one is growing on me. I like -- with the starboard-located helm dictating a normal starboard-to docking -- that the fuel fill, holding tank pump out, shore power connection(s), and transom gate are all on the starboard side. So many boats I see overlook such practical design elements. Add that it has bow and stern thrusters for easy maneuvering, a wide helm station for multiple displays, and unusually-high headroom for a boat its size (important for me since I'm 6'5"), and this becomes my dream boat for a cruiser for Puget Sound, the Inside Passage, the Great Loop, etc.
It is such a great boat for cruising!
Was looking at a Ranger Tug for the better part of a decade. Bought a used 2019 R29 CB from Pocket Yacht this spring and am very happy with the boat . Boating on Lake Lanier greater Atlanta and I literally have people coming up to me while cruising or anchored asking what kind of boat it is. Lots of compliments. Not why I bought it but cool. Like all boats, there are tweaks to personalize. Super happy with the purchase.

I really like this boat and Ranger tugs in general so I don't mean this as criticism, only question. Why did they move the head from being independently accessible by all berths on the old 27 (Rear of the salon) to in the forward berth? I don't really want to use the head 2 feet from my partner and I suspect women are even more sensitive about this. And now any guests have to enter your room at 4am to use the head as well?
The head is in the same place on this R-29 as it was on the old R-29 and the new R-31, except in mirror reverse. The old R-27 was the only model that had it in the rear corner of the saloon, where it blocked the view.
What's the hull thickness? Since you are running it up the shore? Just curious.

Ranger does not warranty owner damaged boats. I'll give you 50k for your wrecked boat. Next time you buy a used wrecked boat sight unseen get a survey.
