You have great contents! Thanks. I have an 09, vnl 630. The symptoms that I have due to the bellow leak are; erratic idling, regular regular requests, a very subtle whistling sound when I apply jakes and about an extra mile per gal increase in fuel consumption.
@@youtubeisawesome2487 thanks, I replace the injector cups recently but I will check again to make sure. I just replace the bellow, it had two soot markings on the pipe indicating a leak. The truck is idling perfect now so let’s see if the other symptoms go away.
Thank You Sir. Just got out a company truck with over 400k miles the was really having a funny smell .. I knew it was a leak .. company put me a 2023 now.. Thanks for confirming and I'll Know for the future.. What's the miles and hours on that truck?
Hellow Ryan thanks for your effort! I have 2014 volvo with isx15 motor, around the tip of exhaust pipe its leaking white crystal residue to much, and I took the truck to different shops, one has changed the dosar valve but no one was able to figure it out so far...any help pls...thx...
I'm having this same issue with my prostar. The stealership said 2600$ for just the parts with no known availability date (on back order) was wanting to know where you got that replacement for 800$
Hey Ryan, I live in canton and have a 2018 volvo vnm 200 with an scr fault. I've replaced the doser valve and one of the nox sensors. I have the intlet nox sensor but I found a leak at the clamp behind the doser valve. How much would you charge to diag? No check engine light, just message scr fault engine derate. I'm thinking it's got build up in the elbow just in from the doser but haven't tore into it yet.
Hi Ryan, thanks for the video, I like 👍 and subscribe. My question to you, from your experience what could be the best replacement for thiis expensive part? On a system with no DPF.(removed) Can this (bellow leak) part be replaced by a flex pipe?
Question, if your exhaust bellow is bad. When you accelerate, would you hear a flapping noise. Like having a plastic bag hanging out the window while driving type of sound.
Problem with mine is it’s to close to the frame and eventually rubs a hole in it. The good thing is all I have to do is pop off 2 clamps and put the new one on.
@@wk8457 No, but I see that you weren't neither. Let me help you. Change "we're" to "were." We're is the abbreviation for "we are." So go ahead and fix that. No need to go buy a new word from the store to fix it. 😂
@@cruzancoconut Feel smart, yet? Keep your trailer home clean and you may arrive there, one day. I’m not concerned with an autocorrected word in a UA-cam comment.
@@monkeypox9683 Normally when I fix exhaust leaks like this, I cut out the bellows and weld in a new one with my mig. All I was saying is that the title makes it sound like he's going to repair the defective bellows.
Once every few months, I have someone, (wife, daughter, daughters boyfriend), start the truck, while I stand out by the turbo. I look for a puff of smoke right after it cranks. I have found and replaced a few pieces of broken bellows that way.
No offense, but you really said nothing of value in this video. Like if this piece of exhaust pipe is leaking - replace that piece of exhaust pipe or the whole thing if the design is such... Like no duh. I thought you had something like here's how to fix it temporarily without replacing the thing, given today's shortages and prices for parts and extended downtime in the shop..
You’re mad because you assumed incorrectly? The guy is 1) advertising for his truck shop and 2) helping people understand what might be needed to repair the parts they don’t understand. Not everyone is a mechanic.
@@DemetryG Sure they do. All manner of people watch repair videos. The world does not revolve around your assumptions (nor does it revolve around mine). Want to help people understand? Start uploading.
I agree. The title is misleading. I have the same exhaust leak and I thought he was going to show me something that I didn't know already. Most non-mechanically inclined people will have the part replaced. He could have at least said something like, buy a new bellows, cut the old out and weld the new one in, for example.

I was having the same problem with my 389 . Thanks man ❤
Plz show how you tested for the leak

you better check your intake, the bolt heads at the front of the engine like to break off, a bellows leak will not cause most of your symtoms

Hello do you have to take the dash out to stop exhaust leak into the cab by the turbo?
I'm having this same issue with my prostar. The stealership said 2600$ for just the parts with no known availability date (on back order) was wanting to know where you got that replacement for 800$
I went to my international dealer and they had an aftermarket version for a little less than $800. The stock version was way more expensive.
Whats the name of that part I have the same issue
Thanks for all your content, Ryan. Have learned a lot from your videos. Are you not driving anymore?
No longer driving. Repair trucks now
Hey how are you So does this cause heavy white smoke with no overheating and a gurgling noise
Thanks, information was helpful

Make a Video in Volvo VNL 2013
Possibility of leaks other than flex pipe.

Ryan whats the brand and model # of your engine hoist?
Hein Werner HW93806 6000 LB 3 Ton Diesel Engine Crane w/Air
Where did you get the part ????
I have a feeling that is what's making the truck get an stop engine light code 3165 scr outlet temp
That’s probably a sensor

What if the truck is doing a regen every 100hr?
So no fix for that Prostar other than to replace the entire piece?
yes that is what they told me today i have to buy whole thing for 2.8k just the part
So the fix is to buy a new one?

I mean that’s usually how I fix my stuff…. Unless the part is not made anymore, why reinvent the wheel?
